I'm wondering about this too. Not how long it will glow in ratio to how long it is put under light. But rather I'm worried about the properties of the resin. Will the doll be able to glow for years and years? Or will the effect of the glow eventually wear off. Is it merely on the surface or mixed throughout the whole resin? Will sanding have an effect on the glow?

I must say I'm quite tempted by this little one though!

Thank you all for your kind remarks and compliments about Fidelia so far, it's much appreciated!
Regarding some of your questions about the GID resin, I've contacted our casting factory; production manager Donny Harijanto in Indonesia, these are his answers: "the resin will glow 'forever' it is mixed through/in the resin, even sanding it won't make it loose it's glow, it simply needs to be recharged in (day)light and it will glow again"

We hope to release Fidelia within the next few days, most probably sometime after Easter.

I thought she might have been sold out this morning, but she is still there. Glad I still ordered right away though.

Well, I'm on board! I just ordered her, she's going to be a lot of fun. She'll be right at home here with the elves, fairies and forest critters. Now for a name!

 

Me too!!!! I am usually very impulsive but I am so happy that, for once, I took my time in deciding.

 

I am so glad she was still avaliable! I just ordered her on layaway. I think I might name her Serenity I've admired the CCC dolls for a long time, but have never ordered one before. I just could not resist a glow in the dark faerie!

Does anyone have any idea on how her wings will attach? I'm curious to see how she will look with the wings and goggles.

 

I wrote about the wings too, and they attach similiar to Yoshi in the size and measurement page on CCC, Charles wrote to me and said they will have pictures shortly with the goggles and wings on Fidelia. This should be good!!!!

 

LOL Wilkies I did the exact same thing. I spent the day all excited and proud and when I checked my paypal I hadnt even ordered her. I think I was in such a frenzy I wasnt concentrating on anything.

Jonlyn I am the other way round, I always take so much time to decide on my dolls, with this one I knew as soon as I saw her she was mine.

Anachronist, Serenity would be a cool name for her, I was considering Inara for the Joss Wheedon connection but I have a few names knocking around.

I hope we get some measurements for her soon, so I can start thinking about clothes. I am assuming a 4" wig. I wish I could photo shop, I want to see how she would look with regular eyes. Oh rambling lol, 46 years old and acting like a child

 

I just ordered and paid for my little Firefly Faerie, I don't have a name for her yet, but I'm sure I'll think of one. I can't wait until she gets here.....now I need a large glass jar for her as well.

 

I'm very excited about her coming here! I've started building a little home for my CCC dolls... this one is in a large display case with a plexi glass front that I got from miniatures.com. I'm not sure I'm going to like them behind plexi, so it's sort of an experiment, but I guess I can always leave the front open if I want to. I'm creating a diorama of a woodsy environment for them to live in. The only problem is I've come up with about ten more ideas for dioramas so I think I may need more of these display cases!

 

Check out a place online called the Plantstand Store. I have several of the smaller terrariums. I needle felt wildlife animals & have several displayed in terrariums with artifical moss & dried plants etc. My little firefly is going to have a terrarium home in my bow window where she will get lots of sun during the day...and be safe from my puppies!!! I want a jar for her in my kitchen too...hmmm I guess I will be taking her from room to room with me!!!

 

Ever see the movie A FaerieTale? One of my favorites. I would love to build a faerie house like Elise and Francis did for her.

I have a old bird nest with an egg in it that fell from our tree years ago, that might be her bed....... not sure yet. It depends if it is big enough. She is 12 cm, so I think it will work. ***I tried saving it and put it back as high as I could in the tree, but no luck.***

She will need some pillows and a blanket too for those chilly nights.

I am already thinking of a wardrobe for her! Like tiny snow shoes for the winter and leaf shoes for the summer, so many ideas.................measurements please ! LOL

 

Anyone know what size wig she wears?? Such a cutie with that face, I know that's why I fell for her

 

My Moona and Bracken already have a woodland but I want something diferent for my new girl. I think she is more private and would not want to share such a small space but I am thinking Briard the unicorn may have to move in with her.

The wig on the site is 10cm so I am hoping this is going to be the size as I ordered a wig for her already based on that

Charles, I just wanted to make a request for tiny doll stands for your creatures. I haven't found anything that works well, and could probably make my own but have never gotten around to that. Perhaps you'll consider it sometime in the future?

OMG I am allergic to soooo many meds too so I also avoid giving taking anything. I've been trying to knock it out with vitamins & Benadryl & today I am finally feeling better. Have a dentist appt tomorrow so as long as I have a chance to get out of the house I plan to go to Hobby Lobby & Michaels. HL usually has a lot of darling birdhouses this time of year & I want to see if there is anything that I could turn into a fairy house.....I think she is going to have her own little domain in every room in my house Busy week coming up as we are going to travel to a dog show for the weekend. Lucky thing I can read while riding so will probably take some mini magazines to look for more ideas. I haven't been this excited about a new doll in a long time!

Muse Star I would love to see your elf you sculpted. I love the little family too but I dont think my new girl will live with them. I think she needs somewhere of her very own but I have no idea what to do. When I lived in UK it was so easy to find miniature things but Australia is a little lacking so I have to make do with ebay and etsy and it can be frustrating scale wise if you cant actually see things first. The bird house sounds a wonderful idea Jonlyn and yes I cant remember being this excited for a long while. She is going to be so tiny, looking at her measurements.

OOOOOOOOO I just saw the photos in the goggles and wings, how so magnificent is this little creature. I want her to have a flying jacket and pilots helmet .. is it 60 days yet?

I will get a picture of little elf soon. It is my hubbys and he takes it to work with him. I made him over two years ago, so he is a bit dirty...............he likes crawling around in the garden dirt!LOL
I like the idea of a bird house, it has been quite some time since I have been this excited over a doll in months, I think the last one was for Soom Topaz Faerie 65cm! I bought her in Oct and she arrived in Jan, oh the dolly wait I went through, but worth it!

Counting the days for Fidelia....................yeah, is it 60 yet????

 

Getting out of the house today!!! I have been trapped here with this virus & today I finally am going out. First to get my hair cut, then DH & I are going to go do some shopping, groceries & maybe a quick dinner out. Plan to hit both of the big craft stores today too...jars, birdhouses & anything else that looks like my wee faerie could enjoy.

Muse Star,I too am anxious to see the little elf that you sculpted. SoooOOoo sweet that he is your husbands little companion! It is less than 60 days now isn't it? Must be 58 or even less....it's almost like a pregnancy!!!!

 

Counting my pennies to see if I can get this cutie. She would look good in almost anything!

 

As soon as my hubby gets home, I will get some pictures for you. He is kinda pre-bjd. I wanted something posable and couldn't figure the bjd system out. He is missing a toe, poor thing!

Fidelia The Firefly Faerie Closing Date |

Hi everyone,

My latest creation Fidelia has proven to be very popular. Thank you all so much for your wonderful love and support!

We'd like to inform you that our closing date for ordering the glow-in-the-dark faerie is May 16. There is a small chance that she may be closed before that date if too many orders are placed. So, those of you still wishing to purchase the doll should really order her soon.

Does anyone think a size 4 wig is too small for Fidelia?? I am thinking about buying some, but I want to make sure I get the correct size first.

 

I hope not coz that is the size I ordered for mine too!

For those of us who ordered within minutes of her becoming available the may 16th date marks the half way point in our wait!!!!

I got so excited when I saw a new post from our C-man this morning...I was soooo hoping he was going to surprise us by saying early orders are on their way to their new homes!!! I am just teasing as I know beautiful, quality work takes time of course. I am even more anxious to get little my wee bug as my husbands heart attack this week means that we must pay a very big deductible on our health insurance so there won't be any new dolls for quite awhile...small price to pay to have my precious husbands health again!

Thanks for the good wishes for my DH. He is doing very well & it is not even a week since his heart attack. He is young & in great shape so that's all been in his favor...that & fast response as it happened as he was running on the track at school & someone started CPR right away plus the school has a defibrilator so they were also able to shock him & restart his heart. Good luck with Alice Cherry Blossom...I think they are quite hard to find. This is a great place to let a lot of people know that you are searching for one though.

 

Oh that must have been such a shock for you, luckily he is young and in great shape!

I'm still very tempted of getting Fidelia, I think she is so wonderful and unique. But... oh no... the new CCC anthro creature could very well be a new 'Charles piggy'.. We'll know soon enough, I hope ahhh all these hard decisions..

 

BIG decision MiyaDoru!!!! I am sure you will be happy with whatever you decide on from CCC as everyone seems to love his work very much.

Thank you Muse Star!!!!! DH is doing well but we have very scarey times too as he occasionally has chest pains...probably from the aggresive CPR compressions but he does have nitro to use & if it continues after using that we are to call 911 immediately. I am so happy to have him home but I do think they released him from the hospital pretty quickly. Thank you for asking about me too. I am stressed & very emotional...tears come easily! Hugs to you & your girls. I hope our new girls can be sisters!!!!

 

You are certainly welcome and I am so glad DH is home with you, yes they do release them quickly. He is young and healthy, and will spring back just in time for summer!A distant uncle, 82 years old, has had a heart attach about 2 weeks ago and then 12 mini strokes. I don't hear much on him, he's my mothers half sister's husband. (4th husband) I was never close to any of them or her.

If you need to talk anytime, just pm me. I too have had alot in my family, and those out of the blue shockes are horrible! But you will be fine, just take day to day, and only worry about the moment that is given to you.

I understand your stress and tears, but they will lessen as times goes by..............and........sisiters??? Yes, yes and seven after that I would be honored! You made my day!!!!

Jonlyn, what a scare, I'm glad he's doing well now. That must have been a horrible ordeal.

MiyaDoru, I've been looking for baby Julia, she's been hard for me to find, too...Good luck finding your Alice. The new pig should be perfect for me, I think Alice is lovely but a little too large for my group. I'm hoping the new piggy will be more like Yoshi and the other CCC's in size.

Every time I decide I'm done buying dolls for this year, Charles comes up with another one and I love them all so much I cave every time. I'm glad he's creating such wonderful dolls, I just hope I can keep up the pace!!!
