[Adopted] Be with you... 28cm Baby Doll

I love the way you have her styled. I received my Kiwi also - now Kiki - she is telling stories to Odette (Cherry) and making her laugh right now. These dolls are amazing. I even like them more than Fairyland.

 

Thank you Merlin's Mom ! I don't have name for 'Red' yet... I want something uncommon. Oohhh...nice you have Cherry too! I'm loving all these dolls. I've always felt like I was missing something because I've never been a fan of Fairyland....? but all these Dollsbe dolls, I find them adorable.

Red Riding Hood Kiwi is adorable...she looks like she could take on that wolf for sure.

Mace's purple lightsaber showed up this week, but the boots I got for him are too small, his heel doesn't go flat We've got pants, a robe, and a lightsaber now. I'm hoping this weekend to make him a tunic, but back to the search engine for boots :/

@clochette thanks! I finally got around to posting her (or his? or neither?) box opening. Kiwi hasn't settled a name or anything yet, though.

I did have a fun wig night last night. Kiwi tried on lots of different looks and her new friend Pong joined in the games. Let's say a tickle fight wound up happening between them. Now Pong is sharing all his tiny dragons with Kiwi, which means nothing but trouble. I'll post links to photo galleries soon--I still have to edit those files down.

Well, I had said earlier I had not named her (I wanted something original)...but after Prince died and listening to his songs, it struck me...I named her "Korvette".

 

Cute name - it suits her. That outfit is so perfect for her too.
I am anxiously awaiting the new dolls, but would also love to get Paprika, Carrot, Strawberry and Grape if they are ever re-released.

This is Cleo! I happen to know that she actually arrived last month, but I just received her yesterday for my birthday. She is my first Dollsbe and I just love her. I think she is going to be best buds with Ripley, my Haru Casting Adori. I have been stalking this thread for ages, so glad I finally have something to post!

I believe he is working on new dolls in another size. You can only buy when the dolls are in-stock. Sometimes people have trouble with the site and have to order by email.

I love all the hand sets that came with my Amond! This may sound dense, but I wasn't sure if there was anything special I was supposed to do to change them. I threaded a piece of string through the elastic in the arm so it wouldn't get lost and pulled on it it quite hard with one hand to get the hand out far enough to switch it with my other hand. It was quite difficult! Is this how everyone does it?

if you knot the string in a loop, you can loop it over something secure like a knob and pull the arm with one hand and have one hand free to change the hand. Or you can put a chopstick or small dowel through the elastic loop to hold it while you change the hand.

clamps... they are a godsend... and yes they are the exact same type as the ones doctors use... I have 3 sets (on live in my 'traveling with dolls kit', one is in my odds, ends and tools kit at home... and a spare XD... I like the ones with the rubber covered handles best and they do take getting used to to use they lock shut (this is a good thing) and they only open one direction ... get some.... play with them and you will love them.

I do have hemostats, and I was going to use them, but was worried they might damage the resin on the wrists. Maybe I will get them out and try again. I love my hemostats - I use them for all sorts of thing!

 

I worry about the same thing. When I am pulling strings really tight, I put a little padding between the resin and hemostats.

 

Elastic does not slide well around corners. So if the arm is down by the doll's side, you are pulling the elastic from the wrist to shoulder. If you put both arms out straight it is easier to pull the hand out because you can stretch the whole loop from hand to hand. Also don't let anything snap together. Ease parts together gently.

My lovely Athena (AmonD) arrived today. I am so in love with these dolls. The quality is great, the faceups are beautiful and the sculpts are out of this world. YG is a true artist. I am addicted for sure!

 

Athena will be a special doll! The dark skin will be rare.

 

Today is the day, I was expecting to see a release from YG, but nothing's appeared on the horizon as yet.

That was the 2015 event announcement but it should be time for the 3rd Anniversary.

 

If you really examine these dolls they truly are amazing. I was redressing the LittleFees that I got back from my DIL and was comparing them to these dolls. Be with you dolls are more esthetically pleasing - there is no round ball at the ankle - the legs look more seamless and natural as does the ankle and wrist. They pose very naturally and the body itself is not chunky like some dolls. I really think they pose as well as the Fairyland dolls, or at least the ones I have do. I think when more people discover these dolls we will have trouble ordering them in time before they are sold out.

Just received email from YG.

Unfortunately YG has had a few problems.

He had planned to launch the 3rd Anniversary Event Sale in conjunction with trip to the Shanghai Event.
But it proved to be too much work, he didn't sleep 3 days, and couldn't do both.
He was committed to Shanghai, but as it turned out Shanghai was a disappointment and he's now on his way back to Korea.

The Anniversary Event Sale has been postponed until May 17th and he is very sorry to have let his online customers down.

I am hoping that maybe some of the dolls he'd planned to sell in Shanghai will be available for immediate shipping.

It's just a delay! I don't think he has let us down. There's no way he could know Shanghai would be good.

 

I totally do not know anything about changing heads and bodies, but was wondering if the LittleFee heads would work on the Be With You bodies? I see that there are bodies on the dollsbe site (out of stock), but was curious if they would work when they are back in stock to use some of the event or sleeping face plates from Fairyland as they don't sell bodies separately.

 

@Merlin's Mom I think I have a littlefee head (I'm new to having FairyLand in my house), and it is just a little smaller than my AmonD head, but my AmonD's body is strung far too tightly for me to try the FL head on it. The FL headback raises the hook higher inside the head than the BWY does, plus the hook won't fit through the FL slot, so much finagling would be going on... I'm sure something would slip and I'd be picking up pieces all over the place...
tl;dr - looks like it might, but might be a little smaller than the BWY faces, so might not be quite to the same scale.

 

Thank you aernath - I don't think I would mess with it either, sounds complicated. It was just a thought.

 

The LTF heads all have the faceplate system, so unless you already own a LTF body with the headcap, it wouldn't be possible. Otherwise, you can always try if you really wanted to, but I think LTFs will look too pin-headed on the BWY body, as the BWY heads are on the larger side :P

Edit: Oh my goodness you guys! I found something that you guys might like. I just checked YG's weibo and I think he made a 16cm doll called Milk Tea!!

She's totally so precious, I recognised his sculpting style right away, I feel like this is part of his anniversary event, but we never know until the 17th. The face reminds me a lot of Volks' Reitenshi/Seitenshi

I would get her in a heartbeat but she's too tiny for me at this point and I don't have a character for her, but she's so so cute What do you guys think?
