[Adopted] 5th Motif Discussion - part 3

I just finished looking through the whole thread. I am going for Venitu full package so I don't have to look for body matching. I am getting him in Oriental skin. I do like the copper oriental but I want a paler boy. Thought of the pale color but I think that may be too pale. Either way, I am so happy that I can get him and that layaway exists.

 

@BJDivas Thank you so much for all of your hard work with setting this all up, especially today! I know a lot of us were stressed with worrying if orders were going through, but I can't imagine how stressful it must've been to be on the other end worrying about your customers.

 

I was able to go to the website and I bought the Venitu head. Didn't experience any kind of server problems at all. I'm super excited to own a Venitu head. I really want the hands as well and if they're still there in a little while I might buy them too, but the head was the thing I really wanted. I got it in oriental.

EDIT: I decided 'what the hell' and I went back to buy the hands and realised I couldn't, because they're only listed for purchase with the full set or the head. Should I e-mail and ask if I could add the hands to my order? I paid the head in full so there's no layby necessary.

 

Oh man oh man, I'm... very sorely tempted.

See, it's funny, because up until now, the promotional pictures? Do nothing for me. IDK what it is. On a lark I searched to see what people had done and... wow. Venitu is an absolutely beautiful sculpt.

The question is, do I buy the full set and get some extra goodies with it? Or get the head and figure out what resin matches with it best?

I've also got a question for anyone who has the answer- so it says "an additional head, pair of hands and/or feet can be added to the order of a full doll." Likewise, "full doll orders can actually add up to 3 extra pairs of each type of hands and feet, with choice of color." Just to confirm, because I'm a bit of an idiot and I'm also new to this, does this add to the price of the doll? Logic dictates yes. As I'm typing this, my mind is screaming that yes, it does, of course it does, delete this before you embarrass yourself. I am, as has been established, an idiot and I don't do well without all terms being laid out cleanly before me. I assume so!! I just need that sweet, sweet confirmation.

(Also, I'm super excited and grateful to @BJDivas for working so hard to make this easier for us all!! Especially with the layaways. We adore your hard work, but remember to take breaks, y'all!!)

 

@Schtauffen Adding the extra hands and feet will increase the price, so you were right. Also, IF you can swing it, I'd personally recommend going for the full doll as Fifth Motif heads aren't very easy to hybrid. Matching resin is easy fairly easy since they're cast by dollshe, but the head's made for a long neck that most other bodies just don't have. Though it is possible; there are some wonderful hybrids in his thread a few pages back if you want to take a peek. Just takes some elbow grease to get those hybrids to work.

 

@shinibun Thank you!! I realize it must seem obvious to everyone else, but I've noticed after an accident I had a while back I don't comprehend things like that as well as I used to, ugh. It's kind of embarrassing sometimes!!

And that's what I was hearing, about the neck, unfortunately... I'll be peeking through the hybrids, I'm just worried since I've got a few other dolls on layaway as well, how tight my budget will be (I can probably swing it, but that three months will see me panic a bit). I also... can't say I'm much a fan of the body itself!! It's simultaneously too skinny and too muscular for my tastes, but maybe I'll like him better with clothes on. Hm. I'll have to look through clothed pictures of him as well, haha.

@Schtauffen It's no problem! Trust me, I have asked (and done ) far sillier things.

To each their own! As long as you're satisfied with your doll in the end (and not in the red). I know there are plenty of Venitus around on DoA, hybrids and non, but you can also find some great pictures of him on flickr and instagram. Best of luck!

 

I'm a bit worried that my layaway order won't be accepted, since it's now showing as canceled on the site. Is this actually canceled, or is it just a side-effect of the layaway process? I sent the message for the layaway, but of course since there's only one team member working on those, I haven't heard anything back. So I don't know if I haven't heard back because of the backlog of orders, or if it's because there's a problem with my order. Have others also been having this "canceled" issue, and if so, has anyone who did had their layaway approved?

 

Its a side effect of layaway process. My order also shows as cancelled, but it is accepted and I have already made the first payment, it just takes time, but they will contact you, dont worry

 

I had the same issue but they were pretty quick in resolving it. Here’s a post on the site about canceled orders.

 

BJDivas is working on going through the layaway requests. Give her some time!

Yesterday after I ordered I spent the rest of the night going through owner pictures on Tumblr. He looks so good in anything that I still have no idea how I am going to style mine when he arrives.

Has anyone tried Venitu's head on the new Dollshe Mystic body? I only bought the head (couldn't buy the whole doll), so I'm searching for a body to buy next year. If anyone could help it would be great! Thank you!

 

Sigh, I hate being indecisive. Ordered my Venitu in Copper Oriental since I love the colour. But now I'm not sure if it will fit the character. He's based off an anime character that originally had blue hair and is from a northern country. I would follow suit but not sure if light blue or platinum blonde would work with that skintone. Some of the pictures I've seen on the forums make it look like a deep tan while others look closer to natural skin tone (compared to other companies NS). I wonder about switching to pale or fresh but it seems such a waste when we have sooo many options. Plus I would like some contrast between him and his future wife; hopefully a Milky Amadiz girl or a WS Volks SD16. Does anyone have pictures of these boys in deeper skintones with unusual hair colours?

 

It requires a mod due to the depth of the Venitu neckhole, as I understand. There is some discussion of this in posts #959 and #960 of this thread, as well as link to someone's Flickr with photos of the completed mod on a Mystic body. Personally I adore the Mystic body and it's perfect for the character I intend for my Venitu, plus resin match is a given, so I am considering tackling the project.

 

I ordered two Venitu heads, one for me and one to trade with a friend. I can't pay off 1k in three months... but even so, I kind of wish I'd nabbed a full set. He looks wonderful clothed, but it doesn't fit the character I'm shelling him into, but those hands...

Ah, well, the layaway is being set up, and I don't wanna make things hard on BJDivas, so!! Perhaps if I truly desire the body, I can find one secondhand B) I'll just eat that expense.

Now to get hype while I wait for my dear boy...

 

I hope everyone who wanted one of these awesome dudes managed to get one. I got royally screwed because I came home wednesday to a letter from the IRS saying I owe them a stupid amount of money. No new dolls for me I'm looking forward to seeing more of these handsome dudes around though!

 

Get the whole package if you can beg, borrow or steal....no, not steal....it. Nobody has a bod like the Venitu/Goohwa guys.
I bought Venitu in the prototype stage. His derriere was the deciding factor.

@Psycho Sukafu None of these are mine, but here's what I found in a quick search. Copper oriental with red hair, copper oriental blondes, copper oriental with white hair, pale tan with orange hair, tan with blue/green hair, and tan with pink hair. They're not all the 5th Motif guys, but it's the same resin colors. I got my Venitu in copper oriental too.

@Psycho Sukafu No problem! I rely on flickr a lot when I'm looking for specific sculpts or resin colors since so many of reference and gallery pictures here broke when photobucket lost its mind.

Congrats on all the Venitus! I ordered my guy in copper oriental also. Petite Ballerina, you are so right about that body. He’s not my first Venitu, but is my first issue price one. .

I love my tan shades with auburn hair and the streaked blonde shades. My copper oriental guy will definitely wear those wig colors.

 

I'm getting a Copper Oriental also.

I'd love copper oriental but it's $80 more so am passing. Getting regular Oriental. Venitu looks good in all colors so I am sure I will be happy with my choice when he arrives.

My guy will be in regular Oriental. I've always loved that color. I couldn't help myself, I got an additional Venitu head so I can have different personas for my guy! Can't wait to paint him!!!!!! I'll be doing tons of research and looking at loads of photos. A fun and inspiring way to pass the time until he comes home.

Still waiting to hear back from BJDivas on my layaway order, and trying to be patient. Just so worried that something may have gone wrong, since it's been over 24 hours now! Still, I know that there must be a lot of orders to go through. BJDivas is great for doing this for all of us, and I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone's new dolls in a few months. Has anyone ordered GooHwa, or is everybody getting Venitu only?

I would have liked to also get a GooHwa head because he is handsome, but I have another layaway going right now and couldn't afford that extra. I'm just happy to be getting a grail I never thought I'd get!

 

I'm getting a Goohwa. Heck, I'd get two if I could swing it! I prefer him slightly over Venitu. But with this being the last chance, I snagged a Venitu too. My credit card is crying (I bought way too many dolls this year...) but I knew I'd regret it if I passed on him, especially the chance to get him in copper oriental.

What eyes do you guys use for your Venitus? I would appreciate pictures with sizes and company names. I'v read that he wears 12mm, but I wonder if there is some tolerance, so he could wear 10mm or 14mm. Also I would like to know if he needs small iris type of eyes or can do well with regular ones.
Special points if you could show him with Mako eyes

I ordered Goohwa in copper oriental on layaway (first payment sent and confirmed) with an extra Venitu head. I already have both Venitu and Goohwa, but they are Honey Caramel Brown and Pure Avatar Blue, respectively, so I wanted another color for the new guys I am so excited about it. Personally, I really like the Dollshe's copper oriental. It is a very light tan, imo, but so nice to look at

I am studying a double master's degree at 中国科学院大学 in Beijing and at a Danish University, so I travel between China and Denmark fairly often (right now I am in Denmark). I have not actually looked at doll conventions in China, so I am unfamiliar with what conventions are there and when they are, but if anything fits with when I am next in China, I would be happy to bring one or both of my Fifth Motif boys and have a doll meet

 

Your Goohwa looks so out of this world His faceup is amazing! And I love his wig very much.

 

Looks like BJDivas is sold out of the fullest Venitu and Goohwa! But heads are still available ....

 

I saw on their facebook page that they marked the fullsets as temporary sold out while they go through things. I hope this means that I will still be getting an invoice soon so I can pay for my full boy.

My friend ordered a blue Venitu full doll and add a blue Goohwa head, but she live in Hainan Province, very far away from you.
We have some dolls conventions sponsored on weibo, so if you use weibo you can follow them, they will hold doll conventions in many cities, in Beijing, it's held 2 times a year.

Mr. Cho is shooting for 3-6 months, but I'm not sure how realistic it is since Dollshe is doing the casting. As it so happens, one of the reasons that the number is limited is because of his desire to get these out in a timely manner.

And ooo, seeing that blue Goohwa is making me wish I'd chosen a more fantastical colour for my Venitu!! That's alright, though, I shall live vicariously through anyone else who does B)

Yess! I woke up and for a while thought I was dreaming lol. I. Absolutely. Had. To. I ordered Venitu head in oriental. I'm so euphoric right now but on the other hand I wish my order really went through and I wasn't 76th one to pay theirs or anything lol.

 

@Quiet and Insane thank you so very much for the photos and info! I agree that Makos 14mm are too big. Can't wait to see him with 12mm.
The eyes you've made seem to fit him pretty well. So the iris should be around 5-6mm for him to look good. That's good, because it is the same as my other boy, so they can share the eyes

 

I got both heads! Gonna have a fun time trying to hybrid them. Would've gotten the timeless body except the shoulders bug me like mad. If anyone has hybriding success/failures I would love to know.

 

There was a really good Dollstown/Fifth Motif hybrid a few pages back. Since Dollstown is casted by Dollshe the resin will match. I think the only problem was it need modifications for the neck.

 

i was thinking the new dollshe 18M body? It has a 12.5 neck and the venitu needs a 13?
