Of all the companies I've been investigating in the last few weeks for my first resin girl, the one that has charmed me most consistently looking at their past releases is FairyLand. I know for certain I'll want to order a full set for my first and I had a couple of questions: -Is pre-ordering during release events the only way to acquire a full set from them? (the official store specifically, since I live in Europe and the extra cost from resellers/partners will have a significant impact on taxes and the simulated shipping seems to be higher on those as well) or have they've ever had stock of their new releases after the production of preorders? -Looking at the dates of their promo videos on YouTube I've deduced that every 2-3 months they announce 1-3 dolls and they're up for preorder for around 1 month, am I right? Thank you for your time.
If you don’t want to buy from places like Denver Doll or Dolk that might have full sets in stock then yes your main option is to buy directly from Fairyland. as for their releases they follow a standard pattern. They release dolls around holidays and take a break from releasing dolls between March and July. So they’ll have new releases 4 times a year, (approximately) in march/april, July, October, and December. The exact dates vary year to year but it’s usually around the end of these months that fairyland will announce a new release. I feel like I’m showing my hand with what a fairyland fanatic I am in knowing this I really do love their dolls
Thank you! That's exactly what I wanted to know And no shame, I actually made a list of all the releases with date, type and name from the YouTube channel videos going all the way back to 2018 to see if I could recognize any patterns
I totally understand that and I’m glad I could help! I also recommend following fairylands chief producer on Instagram because they usually post sneak peak photos a couple days before the actual release!
Fairyland actually opened a new instagram account, where they post lots of behind the scenes pictures of their newest releases.
Another couple of questions... -When you order one of the extra heads (that have open eyes of course) with makeup do they come with eyes or does one have to remove the eyes from the original to put on the other? -I know they vary a lot between models, but how do you feel about the unpainted accessories if you've had them/seen them in person? would they work just like that even if less beautiful or do you think you'd have to finish painting them yourself?
- no, the extra head usually have no eyes. Makeup or not. You can either share eyes between 2heads or buy an extra. You also have choice to either play this head as real extra of the main head or just give them a totally different character (and body of their own) - Some look good even unpainted, like mermaid tail, some type of crown etc. Some not, it's depend. I'm not on a very creative side to the point that I will pain the part myself, so I have to see if I'm fine playing them unpainted, or I need the painted one.
