A whimsical arrival (Dreaming Doll Ryuna & event head Bella)

Feb 2, 2015

    1. So, on a whim, I put Ryuna from Dreaming Doll on my Christmas list. I don't remember how I came across the Dreaming Doll site, but I was taken with Ryuna's sweet face and especially her smile. However, she wasn't really intended to be my next doll, and I removed her from my list - unfortunately, not before my spouse grabbed the URL and ordered her.

I'm not sorry to have her. I'm just not certain what I'm going do with her. And I now have my first floating head (I picked Bella because I thought she and Ryuna looked like sisters, with Ryuna being the more willful of the two. I guess we'll see.)

I must say, I like Dreaming Doll as a company. They were pretty responsive answering questions posted to their Q&A. She came very well packaged with some nice extras. Only problem is, my youngest cat seems quite taken with her.

      On to the pics.

The outer box, with Artemis, our kitten, and my daughter's cat, Hunter. Artemis was fascinated by the whole unboxing process.

The goods: Doll mummy, event head, extra elastic, heel feet, eyes and eye putty, wig, a blank book, and pillows.

The mummy, well-protected, with her extra feet. (I like that they used rubber bands instead of tape):

      I love her big hands.

      Continued in next post.

    2. Artemis was fascinated. I think it was the resin smell, which was quite strong at first.

The eye sockets were really difficult. They're quite narrow on the outside, and recessed within. I struggled for several minutes to get the included glass eyes in:

      I love her curvy back.

    3. Congratulations on your new arrival! She's lovely~
So many curious kitties, oh my :aheartbea

    4. Such adorable, curious kitties. Yay, a Ryuna! I've got her on my wishlist; she's just got the cutest smiling face. I find it interesting that they use an O-ring instead of a S-hook to hold her head on.

    5. You know, as long as I had my hands in her head trying to get her eyes in, I never even noticed that. Derp.

    6. She's beautiful, hope to see her with a nice faceup soon.

    7. Lovely! I just barely got in a Ryuna as well. And is that Tomodachi Life I see? One of my favorites!

    8. Yup! Quite the time-suck. But I enjoy spending time with my Miis. Maybe we'll meet on a Street Pass Relay weekend. If you see anyone from Sapphos Island, it's one of mine.

    9. Dreaming Doll is one of my favorite companies. Their dolls have a certain aesthetic that I really like. Ryuna was one of my favs! I also really like bella too, so it's a great purchase!! (Also, nice tomodachi life censoring. I love that game ^^)

    10. I'll keep an eye out for you. ^_^ I'm the look-a-like from Larkspur Island.

Again, really nice box-opening! We got totally different wigs from DreamingDoll and I really like the color they sent you. So fun!

    11. Congrats! I have also purchased a Little Elva Ryuna! I'm still waiting on her to be delivered since it takes about two weeks. I can't wait to receive her!

I'm naming her Eos or Dawn (I haven't decided yet).

Just to be sure, a 6-7 inch wig fits her well, correct? Or would you recommend a 7-8 with a wig cap?

    12. I am loving that curved back!! She's really pretty~~
