a waiting room for all! Part 4

Jun 2, 2024

    1. I just placed an order from Dollmore for clothing and doll up keep accessories. I have very happy that there was 15% off for English site users.

    2. @asukakanea their clothes are super nice quality and they ship quickly in my experience

@digi I am so bummed about all the negative feedback they're receiving. I wanted an artist head that doesn't seem to exist anywhere else except the second-hand market, and technically I wouldn't have risked that much because they told me it's in stock. So I could simply order it and take action if things get fishy, but I can't stand the idea of starting a transaction on this kind of footing.

    3. Opened the PayPal dispute. IOS still hasn't shipped my doll. I'm tired. At this point, I just want my money back.

I am finally starting to understand folks whose feelings transfer to the doll - by the time it arrives, you're so irritated you don't even want it anymore.

In 16 days, PayPal will resolve the dispute in my favor (I hope), and this will be over. :sigh

    4. Can anyone tell me what their wait time was for Huajing? I ordered a 1/4 Kairos from them about of month ago. Hoping to get an idea of how long I have to get stuff ready for him.

      • x 1
    5. I've order a couple of times before I find them quick too. I shipped it the least expensive way so it might take two weeks. they just shipped it. unfortunately they sold out of the white boots I want so they refunded me the money for it. i hope they get them back in stock soon.

      • x 1
    6. I was told that Huajing used to be pretty quick, but now it's around a six-month wait. I ordered a body in February - no updates yet.

      • x 2
    7. Around half year or more for doll, nude body waiting time must be shorter (also seems they have prefference for internal chinese market)

      • x 1
    8. I got a body after 4 months earlier this year and the wait times have gotten much longer since. The last quote for small parts I got from Alice's was 5 months, full dolls take around 6 months+ (depending on if you had faceup added also). I hope you get your Kairos reasonably quick regardless!

      • x 2
    9. Yeah same, they've added some really nice heads lately and I have to keep reminding myself that chances are that I'll never see them if I place another order. I really advice against ordering anything from them unless they start catching up with existing orders. I wrote them email yesterday recounting everything that has happened since I first ordered and repeating everything they've told me (which is that the head and body should both be in their warehouse) so they can't weasel out and claim they never had them in the first place.

On happier note, the body from Anubisdolls is already on the way to me :dance current arrival estimate from FedEx is 11th or 12th so the next week. I'm just happy to have a package in the way to me, hopefully it'll be a decent match with at least one of my bodiless heads.

    10. Thanks for this! I didn't get the full set but I did order the faceup so it looks like I'm going to be in for quite the long wait. On the bright side it might become a fun surprise if it comes in around the holidays and I have more than enough time to work on an outfit for him. :sweat

    12. Ordered an Impldoll Susu in January, she was shipped just last week. The agony of checking the tracking page everyday to watch the progress

      • x 2
    13. Ordered a nobledoll raspberry head with a fairyline centaur part ^^
Asella is so kind, she had this centaur part for sell (second handed) and she checked for me if it would fit a raspberry head she just casted. She agreed layway so I just have to wait but it's soooo long. My raspberry centaur would be home for christmas (it's a christmas present) but I can't wiat until then! I just keep on searching pic of raspberry or centaur bjd and planning what I will sew for her outfit. I think It's never been this hard waiting for a doll !

    14. when shopping on dollmore and you ship rincos or whatever it's called, do you usually have to wait a week for the tracking to work?

      • x 1
    15. Your first BJD, oh my gosh! Congrats! Ransom is a gorgeous boy. You gotta love a boy with a great jawline, and he has a fantastic chin.

    16. I absolutely fell in love with his sculpt when I saw him! I’m so excited to finally have a BJD as I’ve wanted one of years!!

    19. Dolls just have a way of finding their people ...

Finally, I can join a waiting room too!
Earlier this morning, I placed an order for a vampire Nanuri head with ADVillage. They said it should be around 60 days.
I am beyond happy. This isn't something I imagined could happen.

Vampire Nanuri was a 2022 event-only head. There's only a handful of people I've found online who own her, and since she's also from a pretty obscure company/artist, the chance of getting her secondhand didn't seem realistic. Yet another sculpt I absolutely adore, and will never own ...
Well. ADVillage started an event, I think on the 12th this month, where they sell their (remaining?) in-stock dolls. Nanuri was in the promotional video. The second I saw, I raced to their shop, and while she was in the listing, she was already sold out. Of course. They said they only had 2 in stock. I bawled my eyes out. After that brief meltdown, I mailed them, not ready to give up yet. And lo and behold. They had a head left. In the color I wanted most. I've never placed an order for anything so fast in my entire life. I can't believe that happened yet. But they confirmed my order. She will be here in a month and a half, fingers crossed.

    20. It didn't quite arrive in schedule but I got the body yesterday (June 13th)! It came with two pairs of extra hands and a really nice doll carrier bag. For a second I was really worried since it was packed in Tinyfox box that they had sent me a wrong order but apparently Sprouting Dragon dolls come in bags instead of boxes. Not complaining at all since I've been wanting a doll carrier bag and as said this one is very nice  its joints aren't the most amazing thing I've dealt with but it has metal wire through the legs so it's one damn solid stander, straight out on the package I just went "wonder if he can stand?" And put him on his feet on the stable, didn't take even a second to conclude that yes, he can indeed stand, no problemo. His strings seem to be bit off as his upper body tends to click on the right side instead of staying straight so I plan to restring him today to fix that, will be fun to see the wiring inside too.

    21. Moderation note!

This is a heads up that the forum staff has not approved Ao Ling Shi aka Aolingshi for topicality at this time. Until we can get more information about this company they are Off Topic.

Please please please, before you post about waiting for a doll in the Waiting Rooms, make are they are On Topic. If you do a search and only see mentions in the Waiting Room, chances are the staff is not aware of them yet. If they have not been submitted for topicality and approved, they cannot be discussed here.

Thank you for your help! :chocoberry

    22. Has tracking started working for you yet? They gave a Rincos tracking number to me on June 10 - I just got around to checking it today, and it's working.
      @idrisfynn - oops! So sorry.

    23. Kids Sky. Doll + faceup + clothes.

      Paid: 22.05
      Shipped (by ACBJD): 11.06.

      Just... WOW!:ablink:

    24. I asked Acbjd what's the timeframe for Huajing dolls ordered around New years, and they said about a month more!

I'm hoping my Andy will be home for August, I need to start sewing some fall themed clothes for him :fangirl: (I'm a summer person through and through, but I'm very excited for autumn/Halloween photoshoots with my dolls)

    25. My Impldoll Susu has disappeared

Tracking last had an update on the 8th, just saying "departed from country of Origin" and nothing since.
Contacted Impldoll 3 days ago and haven't heard back from them.
Contacted the post. All they say is a repeat of what the tracking said and they don't know where the package is :')

Anybody else in Canada had this problem before?

    26. I’m in a similar boat with my Impldoll Ransom. I’m in the us, but the local post has said they’re waiting on the doll to hit the states and the last I got from china post was “airline departures”. My best guess is that it’s held up in customs but I’ve got no other information to work with.

    27. I was wondering if it was being held at customs too.
But I contacted customs today and they said they don't have any evidence of it arriving in Canada!
Tracking said it went through China customs already though.

      Like- did something happen?

Have you contacted Impldoll yet and have they replied at all?

    28. So if it left China customs but hasn't passed through Canadian customs, it's in one of two places: 1) on a boat, waiting to be unloaded, or 2) unloaded from a plane and in a warehouse, waiting to pass through customs.
Since Impldoll is Chinese, and both US and Canada have become more aggressive in screening Chinese imports, your doll is probably waiting to be processed.
As I told a buddy when their dolls were hanging out in a UK airport, "Customs is playing with your doll."

      • x 1
    29. I ordered mine through Alice’s collections but they had Impl send the doll straight to me, so when I reached out all I was told was that it was going to take a few extra weeks to get to me. My doll cleared china customs fairly quickly but from that point he’s been plain hopping and now just sitting somewhere. I’m hoping he’s just sitting somewhere waiting to be processed but I won’t know until they scan him :sweat
Hopefully it won’t be too much longer for, for either of us!

    30. Impldoll finally replied and said there is such an overall back log of shipments leaving China that there can be like a 5-12 day long wait, just to get the room on a plane to ship it over seas.
I guess that's probably the case for you too.

Doesn't explain my other package from a different company though, that said it did arrive in Canada

    31. That's a shame. I wanted to do a product/service review as I have literally just received my Zaak and additional heads. The communications were excellent, both when adding a head to the order a couple of months later and letting me know when on its way to me, easy site navigation to payment, no excessive waiting and the resin is lovely, great poser and package well.

    32. @kyukyukyu - the best way to help the mods make a decision is to give them information. I didn't realize that company was off topic - I will be offering detailed photos to help them make a decision. Perhaps you would like to do the same?

    33. Good idea, something for next week onwards, this week isn't great timing.

    34. I'm waiting for Thel ver.2 by Bardo Research / Oxana Geets, a 27 cm elf. She's from the April pre-order. She's in transit and has emerged from international shipping limbo today, has been released by customs and should be home soon. I'm so excited! My other 2 FairyLand girls I got second-hand and the longest wait was about a week. A couple months isn't a long wait compared to most posts here, but I have so many ideas for the new girl and am impatient to get her :celebrateI've been giving happy internal sqee's all day since I got the notice from the post )

    35. I'm waiting for a DF-A MX I bought off the MP here over the weekend. He should be here this week but even that is agonizing. Not me refreshing the USPS page every ten minutes...

    36. I'm excited I bought my first 1/4 size doll and my first bjd in over a decade (I can't believe its really been that long since I've bought one...) I got a full set Gem of Doll Ann. I just loved her rock star look and face up. I'm excited and nervous for her!!

    37. I just placed an order for my first ever bjd. After 15 years of wanting a Dream of Teen Camine he's finally coming home! The wait is going to be excruciating but I guess I've already waited this long...:sweat I did not think it was possible for me to find him so soon after joining DoA. I've only been posting here for a couple of days!! It was pure coincidence that I was asking about him and someone saw him for sale and linked me. Everyone here is so nice. :...(

    41. I'm going to go mad waiting for this doll. Ordered over half a year ago and now it's been three weeks of just sitting in an air port with not a single update. Just a few more days and it will be an entire month.

Been holding off on starting other projects because I wanted to not be in the middle of something when she arrived so I could get started on her outfit right away.

    42. I just picked up my doll from the post office! He’s finally home after waiting for over 5 months!

    43. Waiting is huge part of the hobby and we all go through it but it doesn’t get easier does it? I love when companies are earlier than expected, and when they’re later than expected but worth it that is nice too. Does anyone have anxiety that it will take longer than expected and not worth the wait?

    44. After slightly more than 6 month my dioll at home (i ordered Skadi on 28 of December)
In my experience (i got week ago 14 yrs achievement here on DOA) it longer and longer now. As i write in Huajing MSD discussion, its possible because we have now bunch of companies, and to make price competitive they need to make bulk orders of parts and heads (also thats why there so many activities each month)

    45. My waiting with Huajing earlier this year was still within a reasonable time limit (4 months) but they were shipping off their stuff only with a ca 2 month wait only a year ago and that was also the estimate I went into it with... so yes, the body I got is nice and worth the money and time it took but I don't really appreciate if sudden changes in production times don't really get addressed by the company in any way. I think that's something that makes me a lot more anxious than the waiting time itself!

It feels like the waiting times in general have gotten longer but there are also companies who try to pre-cast a certain number of new products so they can get ahead of the schedule a bit. In any case, I feel like it must be a very difficult time for doll companies right now - social media marketing has brought the hobby into a very different pace, there are less casting services to go around, the cost of living/producing has gotten higher, all the while customers are getting impatient with the delays they don't have a ton of control over.

    46. Trying to be patient for Rafeyah’s horns and new eyes coming in…. Hopefully they’ll ship this month! Once I get them I can finally start on her faceup design

    47. Ive had only two dolls, but neither of them took any longer than 3 months to get here after order. So I'm definitely not used to waiting such a long time.

Normally I'm pretty good at my patience, but when I'm given a time estimation and it's WAY off, then I get pretty irritated.

Like they told me she would ship March-April.
After April passed, there was nothing. No "sorry, we're a little behind" or anything.
No communication until June, after I asked for an update.

A simple "Sorry, we're a bit behind schedule, it will be another couple months" would have gone a long way.

I would have actually loved to have had the option to pay for expedited shipping too. But I guess all shipping over there is horrendously overwhelmed to the point of packages sitting in one place for a month or more.
I think there was a strike with employees a few months ago? I had to dig for any information of why its being so delayed.

(Sorry for ranting, I just have nothing exciting going on in my life, so it's a bit upsetting to have something so looked forward to, to go so terribly unpredictability)

    48. Lo and behold, the second I complain Rafeyah’s stuff is shipped!

I’m very glad that it did not take as long as her last order. Also, Hadley, that sounds infuriating. I hate waiting on my doll stuff, I can’t imagine how you’re feeling right now

    49. Hadley, actually most doll companies send dolls by express methods. Long time at airport, actually tells about customs issues (normal waiting times are - no more than two weeks for customs clearing) or may be package are damaged (thats worst part. I still remember, when i was a ukranian doll dealer for DollLove (10+ years ago) and got bulk order with very damaged wet package with 10 dolls... I had additional expances to clean those dolls and buy new package for each doll.)
I think you need to contact sender about issue and contact your post office.

      • x 1
    50. My last preorder arrived unexpectedly. I could not figure out how to make an account on the website when I ordered her so I never got any confirmation or shipping notice. I am now for the first time in a long time done waiting for any dolls!

      • x 1
    51. (I got expedite and Express mixed up, I was thinking Expedite was the faster one, but it is Express, yeah. Which this package was supposed to be apparently)

Tracking tells me the package cleared export customs over a month ago and on June 12th it was "handed to Courier" (if the translation is correct). Not a single update since.
Local post office says there is no evidence of it arriving in Canada yet.

Sender says that EMS insists that it's just "waiting for room" on a plane.

Edit: Got word back today. There was so little room available on planes to Canada that they had to switch to Sea Freight.

Apparently 6 other Canadians are on the same boat (or rather, their orders are in the same ship )
I hear Vancouver port is pretty backed up too, so it's going to be at least another month.
A huge bummer, but I'm glad to know what's going on

    52. @Hadley - I'm sorry it is taking so long but I'm glad there were some news. I had to send some non-doll goods from EU to Canada some months ago and my courier informed me that everything is so backed up with flights that unless it's a really expensive parcel, everything goes by sea freight at the moment. Everything arrived safe, though, but it's a bummer that there are still not enough flights a good while later! Hope your doll comes soon!

    53. I ordered my first doll bjd. The agony of choice was long, and finally the choice fell on the Susu in the plump version. I can't wait... about 4 months to wait

    54. Wooooo! My iMda Angie shipped :D

Ordered in March, just shipped now, about 3.5 months, right along the estimated time on the website. I got all of her cute little stuff now, and I ordered a pair of eyes from iMda as well. She's an odd size so let's see if all this stuff I bought fits!

    55. Andy made it to Finland today! He's currently held by customs, but if I'm lucky he'll be cleared by tomorrow (have to mention that I love how easy and fast online declarations are) and the trip to me should not take long- so I'm really hoping he'll arrive on friday!
      Eeek I'm so excited! :D

    56. Plump Susu is what I'm waiting on too.

They also initially told me 4 months.
I sincerely hope it's true in your case. It's been 7 months for me now

    57. So, I wouldn't normally post on here, but I was one of the lucky people to manage to bag an Aiden from Ebi doll. Someone backed out of their layaway and i just asked at the right time. Mine is the last one to be shipped from France the other day. I live in England, so not that far, I just pray that customs don't take a million years. Is looking at the tracking site every few hours normal? Please say it's normal.

      • x 3
    58. @Theodore Lord - in this hobby? completely normal, common at least. We all do it :sweat also congrats on getting the doll!

    59. I'm waiting on quite a few dolls, but the one I'm most anxious for and should be shipping out soon are my Rafayeh and DV 1/4 dragon. (Why did they name it Griffin lmao?) Asked Jane about my Rafayeh and hopefully Alice will ship out my DV dragon any day now.
