a waiting room for all! Part 3

I couldn't stop thinking about an Elfdoll Lydia head that came up on the marketplace so I've paid for her now with an inexpensive body (that will hopefully work for her) this is my addition to the proper big dolls collection for the year and I'm really looking forward to having a Lydia again. I had one already from about 2011-2021 I'm also looking forward to the body because I find it fun to handle one I didn't try before.

 

This is great timing! I am waiting for a Miho Fid Iplehouse girl, an Elijah head from Alice in Labyrinth, and a Class80 Nebel head (This was the last chance, so I had no choice but to order it, did I ). Can't wait to see them all arrive!

 

Great timing for me as well since my Kinoko Juice Kiki just shipped! I nabbed an older fullset off Mandarake that had been listed for a bit. I'm prepared for her posing to be pretty awful, but can't help but love that :3 face.

 

I think the kinoko juice are so cute @Cap'n ! Will go visually with the other adorable custom house you got recently perhaps?

Someone else went in on the last order sale! I have always loved the Infernale sculpt but I've never had a good reason to get him. But this time, I did. I got the body to go with the head, too. So I am waiting, too!

 

@AlisonVonderland I plan for Kiki to be her older sister actually! Or at least related. Will see how that ends up once the other is here. Also if the Lydia head you have incoming is the one I'm thinking of (the one with company faceup?) I look forward to seeing how you style her. Always love your crew's styles!

Yes, can't wait! I couldn't bare the thought of never being able to order Nebel again, I love that sculpt. Your Lydia is also a gorgeous sculpt, wow! I didn't know it yet!

 

@Mandeline Nebel is my favourite IoS sculpt! I'd love to see what you do with him 80cm is just too beeg for me, so I'll admire from afar

As for me, I'm waiting on a Dollshe Saint. Christmas is coming afterall... I also have a Diana on order as well, but that'll be a year or two at least...

I'm also planning on ordering various parts from different companies but no funds at the moment. Maybe in a few months!

 

I had bought one of the new Yul girls (but the human version) for the Luts summer event, and now she's been shipped, so I'm excitedly waiting for her arrival! I'm also waiting on a Resinsoul Shi head and Tang body through DDE, and a Dust of Dolls Roze Chae, though they both have no estimated time for shipping yet.

I think once it gets to the final stretch and has been shipped, the impatience sets in, at least it does for me. Anyone else have their shipping notice?

Yes I am adopting her with the default Faceup. Which really takes me down memory lane because back then I spent time looking at the old Elfdoll site and just sighing over the Rainy girls. I imagine I could have ended up with a lot of them... I really loved smiling soah. But Lydia is really special for how serious she is.
I actually don't know how I should style her because I have a very specific character she is in my mind now but it might annoy me trying to visualize it correctly so I think I'll just have to see how it goes. Sometimes slow fussy projects are really satisfying and sometimes not.

@Mandeline if you like Lydia you might check out the much more current Rainman ladies. They have been very beautiful and striking

@Sanar oh Dollshe saint is one of my favorites too. I had one before as well I hope you will be with him quickly!

@cosmicakes I am a nervous wreck when there is a doll actually in the mail. It's hard at that point! So much excitement and for me, mostly unhinged worry

His size is the reason I never ordered him before, it still scares me, but at least I'll have the head for now, I adore this sculpt. A Saint... Such a beautiful sculpt! It's a shame, the wait times at Dollshe, I hope the lovely Diana will be home sooner than you expect.

It's still possible to get him a body second-hand, I think. Some of the other companies are also coming up with some pretty big bodies, too. And I think I saw a Class 80 body on the MP a while ago, too!

Good luck with finding Nebal a body. He's a handsome sculpt!

 

Joining the thread! I'm waiting for a full doll and 2 heads...

The full doll is Bimong Narin68. Ordered him in January from Bimong via Instagram. Bimong originally quoted 6 months, but when I contacted him in July he said he was delayed with the Narin68 upgrade (because he wanted to revise the body sculpting), and his new ETA is the end of the year. I kinda expected it was going to be a long wait, and I currently trust Bimong to be reliable and indeed ship his dolls.

The 2 heads are Vings Seira, and Joydoll Lai - both ordered in June. Seira was planned, I missed on Vings' preorder last year, and waited 6 months for it to reopen. Seira kinda turned into a grail doll so I'm so happy that I got him. Joydoll Lai was not planned, but I love Joy's sculpting and always wanted to own one of her dolls, and I'm glad I got into the preorder too. I expect both of them to ship by October.

Long waits, but I have 5 dolls at home to occupy me!

 

Oh my! I just looked up the Seira and Lai sculpts and they're so pretty Definitely worth the wait! Do you already have a character all planned out for Seira?

 

@Sanar They're both very attractive indeed. ^^ Seira gave me a character pretty much on first sight, so yes, he was always going to come home, one way or another. I'm very relieved I was able to preorder him, and don't have to do the secondhand grail hunt.

@AlisonVonderland I always loved the old Elfdoll girls - they fit into my doll aesthetic, but I haven't had any reason (no character) to buy any of them... perhaps one day. Please show your Lydia when she arrives! What body did you get for her?

I’m waiting on a blank cream skin Puyoo doll Baby Kumako Egg-01 1/6 size that I purchased from Mercari. I can’t stop looking at dresses, eyes, wigs I have very little left after I sold most of my collection, like no eyes at all, no suitable clothing, and no wigs big enough. I had to buy all that stuff, most of it shipping from overseas. The struggle is real Oh and I had to buy faceup supplies again.

I feel like actually the Elfdoll Rainy girls are more realistic than I usually favor, but her intense/melancholy/wistful expression is one of my favorite. I'm going to risk it on an old very cheap Domuya (pre-flexi) body. Because worst case: I have other floating heads, this is the body most in my budget that I like the look of the best

Sometimes I think I must have missed something really nice in the hobby by buying almost only second hand and hardly ever getting to enjoy the waiting room experience. I'll miss it already!

An original Dollshe Bermann I never thought I'd own one but when I was browsing the MP the other day and saw one for sale... I have some extra funds right now so I figured why not!!!!

Well, I've got a whole lot of other dolls that need attention so I'm sure I'll figure something out I've been neglecting my collection for a couple years now, so everyone needs some basic maintenance, a change of clothes, some new face-ups... Lots to do!!

I also need to decide what I want him to look like! He comes with a beautiful face-up already, but I need to pick eyes and a wig, and make sure I have clothes that will fit him. I should probably also pick a name Naming dolls is so hard!

My Elfdoll Lydia and bargain Domuya body made it home and I could not be happier to have Lydia here with me again. I've bought a few dolls a second time but this one felt very much the best, like seeing your best friend again. So my stupid indulgence was the right one, Huzzah!

Posted a box opening for my Kiki! And now I've purchased a Flower & Junior Head that I believe is a Little Why. Mandarake only had it listed as "Flower & Junior 1/4 head" so a bit of a mystery. Hoping the included COA has the sculpt name. So I await another arrival~

I got my two floating heads! They came together in my big Taobao shipment from China. I posted kinda-box openings on their doll discussion threads - Vings Seira and Joydoll Lai. I'm so delighted with both of them, can't wait to paint their faceups!

Still waiting for Bimong Narin. I told myself I'll give it until November - when I've crossed the 300-day mark - before I ask for an update. (Please Bimong sir, I don't want to wait more than a year for Narin...) And I just bought a body for Seira (also from Vings), I think the lead time is 3-4 months so I'm expecting it at the end of this year. Wouldn't it be nice if Narin and Seira's body arrive around the same time so I can straightaway add 2 dolls to the gang...

I'm waiting for a Huajing body since the 18th of Sept (changed resin colour 3 days later, idk if it adds to the wait). I know it's still going to be a while, probably (fingers crossed that all those new releases aren't slowing them down too much), but I've just received the last batch of faceplates and parts I want to hybrid with so naturally I'm getting a little antsy. Anyone also waiting for some of the newer stuff from Huajing?

 

For the first time since I joined the hobby, I'm waiting on two dolls at one time. One is my QQ-doll Ling Lan head, and I think I picked the wrong shipping option from New Clover Singing, so I have no idea when she's supposed to arrive lol. The other is my Ao Ling Shi Lynn who I just got second hand. He should be arriving by Thursday.

@cobaltconduct It looks like I'm going to be in the same boat as you. I still haven't picked out a body for my Ling Lan head so I'm probably going to be getting very antsy waiting for it lol. However I am feeling very tempted by Huajing's new special body...

 

I'm not sure if it is worse to have a floating head and wait for a body or the other way around Glad there's more of us in the boat!

 

Both my new kids arrived, my Ao Ling Shi Lynn and QQ-doll Ling Lan, and I love them both! Probably a couple of the shortest waits I've ever had in this hobby, lol. Now to find a body for Ling Lan. Unfortunately seeing her in person didn't offer me the intense moment of clarity I was hoping for about which one to get, so I'll probably be waiting on a body for a while...

I adopted a Tan Little Snow from a seller second hand on the 20th and am so excited to receive her!! She has not shipped just yet but I assume that is for the holiday hustle and bustle. I get paid on the 1st and have a cart of goodies to get me started as a first time doll owner! Aah so excited to share

Since there aren't enough Spirit Doll fans around to really keep a waiting room alive, I might as well wander around in here while I'm waiting for my fangy-dude Raven to arrive.

I ordered him earlier in the month through Legend, but there's no telling how long it'll take for him to ship... My Windflower and Spruce shipped in about three months. My MengPo took almost nine.

 

I'm waiting for Fairyland to hurry up and announce their winter event, does that count? :P

Last year they teased pics November 24; the year before, on November 30. Not that I'm frantically checking their noticeboard every two seconds or anything...
