I rescued this girl off my local marketplace recently and have been since restoring her bit by bit (project journal here). The light was nice and it felt like a good time for a photoshoot with her, now that she's pretty much complete Spoiler: bonus shots
Love this doll! Your pictures of her are so lovely and contemplative. I remember when DZ Shoyo was all over the place. She was a very popular sculpt.
I love how this came out. She's such a classic beauty, a little retro feeling. Very Ghibli vibes! Like she could be in her own slice of life show or comic. She also reminds me a little of the film character Amelie, not just the hair but the sweet and lively look.
Oh yes - older molds with the beautiful big eyes and the long, slim noses - just to fall in love with Very lovely My congratulations and thank you for sharing
Thank you all! @Rosslyn - there's definitely a bit of Amélie in her, too, she is probably almost as old as the film is hehe!
She is so lovely! I looked at the project journal too and it's fascinating to see her transformation. I love what you did with her birthmark as well, it makes her so unique and shows a little of her history!
Thank you! It would've felt so strange to just cover the pink patch up completely and I'm glad the restoration went in the direction it went
As you’re saying she really looks like a ghibli character! And I love her hat, congratulation for making it, she looks awesome with her outfit
