    2. Very cute! They are having so much fun! :daisy

    3. Thank you! <3
I had fun too, but next time I'll probably bring fewer dolls out at the same time. There is a reason there are so few pictures with more than one doll at a time. :sweat

    5. @AlisonVonderland Thank you! Snow is always tricky to work in, but it turned out ok. :)

    6. Great winter photos! They are having a real fun. And you're not afraid of dressing them in black - I always worry the moisture would make the black clothes stain so I usually avoid those during snowy or rainy weather.

    7. Thanks!
Many of my dolls wear black all the time and in all my years in the hobby I've only had a single staining accident and that was only on the sealant, not the doll itself. That time it had nothing to so with moisture, but with improperly dyed fabric and me not prewashing. I learned my lesson.
And the weather was very cold, so no moisture in the air at all and the snow was like powder. Fun fact: I had to make the tiny snowballs by squeezing them with bare hands to get the snow to stick to itself. That is also how I stuck them to the dolls mittens, slightly melting the snow against my skin and quickly put it in the dolls hand and it froze to the mitten in seconds.
When I got back inside I did remove all their outer wear and left it to dry. There really wasn't much snow on it, most was easy to brush off before I brought them in, but there is always a little that sticks.
The only thing I was slightly weary about was the shoes, since they are all bought ready made and I have no idea if the glue used can stand low temperatures, but so far everything seems to be ok.
I did discover that one headback magnet had come loose after the shoot, but it may have been lose before that and may have nothing to do with the cold. In any case it was an easy fix. :thumbup

    8. I'm probably too cautious. :sweat I had a pair of trousers, not completely black, that stained a bit but fortunately I could remove those little dots with magic sponge. And luckily the last time I took my doll out in snow, the snow was sticky yet clean so I just let the clothes dry at home, no stains and no dirt.

    9. I mean, a bit of caution never hurt anybody. If you could remove it with a magic sponge, it was probably only a transfer stain sitting on the surface and not actually anything that had penetrated into the polyurethane itself. In the end, no harm done.
Awareness is always good, but don't let it get in the way. Prewash fabrics if you sew, wash newly bought clothes if you buy ready made and your dolls should be fine. If it doesn't discolor the wash water, it won't come off on your doll with humidity either. :)

    10. Looksmlike thye had a lot of fun - what a great photo-set.

Although it looks like it would hasve taken a lot of time out in the snow to set it up and photograph it all.

    11. Thank you, Teddy!
I think I was outside for about half an hour. It's right outside the house, so I didn't have to go anywhere.
I used and old jacket as "parking lot" for the dolls currently not in use and simply posed and photographed a few at a time. It worked out all right, but it was very cold. I was glad to go back inside when I was done.
If I give it another try while we still have the snow I will probably only bring out two dolls and focus on getting some more creative poses and interactions. This time I just improvised and did whatever seemed the easiest/what the dolls wanted to do. Some of them are not the best posers even under ideal circumstances and their bulky winter clothes and my freezing fingers didn't exactly make things easier.
But it was worth it! :)

    12. Yay!

I would not have had the patience

    14. Thank you! I love looking at other peoples photos in the snow as well.
Maybe it's because snow is getting rare here these days, but still. It's so pretty.
