A picture that is special to you ~

This is the enabling image that got my sister in to dolls. I'm holding Xavier and she took the shot, a few months later we had Recall twins Now she wants a Wing head and if I can convince her the boys are lonely a girlfriend

 

This picture is special to me because it was taken when I was visiting amelie, which gave my Arai and her Mina a chance to actually get together, after spending months flirting. Needless to say, they - and we - had a lot of fun together.

 

Keya's always been my special girl and I absolutely adore her. This is my favorite picture of her. ^_^

 

This was one of the first photoshoots I did with Kaito, he was fresh from his box and still had his default faceup. I love it because he looks so shy and innocent, like the new spirit that he was. I feel that now when I compare this photo with the more recent ones he actually does look 'younger' than he does now (does that make sense?).

 

This was the first photoshoot I did with Allen after he came home, and it was one I was planning to do from the very moment I decided to get him in dollie form. Music has always been one of the most important aspects of my life, and I love playing piano and my Steinway heritage (Steinway pianos sound th ebest, imho. xD), and I adore this picture. It really makes me think of my little Musician.


This is part of a freaking 2 hour long photoshoot I did with one of my friends Sarah (Rosette here on DOA) with my chrno and her Shall Rosette. This one is special to me because it was a photoshoot we had been wanting to do with our dollies for so long, and it was also a really special night for us. We only get to see eachother for 4 days a year (in June), but my Dad payed for Sarah to come visit me here in Colorado for a week. It was SO much fun, and this was the night she met all my other dollie friends and we all slept over together. It was a lot of fun, and seeing picture of our two lovebirds just reminds me of that.


This one for most of the same reasons as above, 'cept this was on the first day after we got back from the airpost and we really got to walk around boulder with our dollies (barely visible in this pic..xD). It was a lot of fun, because if I was alone, I probably wouldn't taken Chrno out with me. xD
Anyway, this is just Sarah sitting in the imfamous sky chairs in Art Mart. Fun times. Can't wait for june.

That's not only my favorite picture of Teacup (Elf Shiwoo), it's my favorite doll picture out of all of them I've taken. It's just the heart and soul of cute. ^_^

This one of Serras (Dreaming Moon) and Sannru (Vampire Elf Yder girl) is a close second...



... just because I think it's one of the prettier ones. They look very... real... to me in this one. That's something I always go for in pictures, but rarely seem to accomplish.

 

I especially like this picture of my Unidoll Jace Kazimir, I think it really shows the moody quality of this lovely sculpt. He is my first doll and he will always be my favorite boy.

 

I love seeing these photos. They're all moving in slightly different ways, especially with the stories connected to them.


This is from the first real photoshoot I did with Mariette (DoT Shall). I didn't know I could get photos like this--I was speechless when I saw it fullsized. I know it's a little overexposed, but I didn't know I could actually take pictures like the ones I admired on DoA.


This one was a complete surprise. I had hoped for a certain sense in this photo, but I had no idea it would be as emotional as it is. Whenever anyone talks about dolls being unable to express emotions, I show them this picture. I really do think these dolls work a bit like Noh masks: with minute changes in the position of their faces, they can become happy, in love, sad...anything


This one of Hajime and Sayo (DoC Ivan and Kirill) bespeaks the sort of relationship their characters have. I was so happy to see it work so well in doll form.

 

I absolutely LOVE this one of Quinn. I put him in there and he posed his legs all on his own and the emotion in it is just beautiful!


I just think those two look AMAZING together in that photo. It cheers me up all the time!


And this one shows more of Itsume's personality which I was having a hard time portraying there for a while. ...I sorta feel bad for the boys though ^_^;

 

This is my favorite picture of me and January.
The lighting was horrible so its terribly grainy, but still my favorite.
Naked bald and faceless is how I fist saw him and how I'll always remember him.


This is my absoluete FAVORTIE picture of him.
It was his first face-up and the one that captured the most emotion.
I had to take it off cause' I had nothing to seal it with though.


This one is very recent, and I just love how natural he looks, and how beautiful even without a face.
All the clothes and hair were donated to me by Brightfires and that makes everything all the more special.

That picture was taken by my husband a few hours after Haikiri arrived. He's my first doll and I just felt so incredibly happy holding him. Yes, that's my arms and torso. :P

Well I have been photographing these dolls for many years already but I have one photo
which is a pretty recent one that I know I will ALWAYS adore.

It's from Taji Morell a character I had as a MNF Shiwoo but sold him, but he came back as a
mature Minimee version. The reason why I love this photo so much is because of the very
adoring, loving but mature expression he has. For me it shows his personality and how deep
it runs. And his eyes are very important to me, they almost speak....*cough*....sorry I'm in
love with my own doll hahaha




The second photo I adore a lot is also from Taji but as his MNF Shiwoo version. Reason is
also his expression it's so adorable and a tad bit insecure that I can't help but smile everytime
that I see it.



heheh as you can see Taji has become a very important character and doll to me ^_^

I have a few photos that im really proud of and mean something.


I took this pic at my first meetup that wasnt a convention, at this point id had Lilith for 2 months and i loved the reflection in the glass of the aquarium.


I also took this one on the same day. I love the way it looks so dark and mysterious, its like shes stepping into the light. I know its very dark but to me this photo gives her an almost real appearance.


And then there is this one taken at an icecream parlour, (she was sitting on the counter), its probably the coolest pic ive ever taken (im normally hopeless at taking pics).

 

I've taken loads of my boys, but this one I think is really special, because it was mine and Rei's first trip away from home together. I'd only had him about 2 weeks and I was taking him on the train back to my parents for the weekend. I was all anxious about showing him to them! I got on the train and it wasn't too busy. The more I sat there the more I just wanted to take him out of this bag, so I did. And he just posed so cutely... I think he looks a bit anxious about the trip too. I think this one of the first pictures I got a clue of his character and that makes it special too

 

This is the most special picture to me. Its of my twins~ Its one of my favorite photo shoots I have taken.

 

One of the very first photos taken with my SLR camera with manual settings, my first BJD Aegis. The beautiful summer day, the light, and that I managed to slightly understand my tricky camera better...this photo makes me happy everytime I see it.

 

One of my favourite pictures I've ever taken of this girl - she has so much emotion in it and she looks so wistful.

 

It's not much of a picture but back then I wasn't sure I would bond with my Sist. After this first photoshoot I knew she was just perfect for me.

 

My 'special-est' photos weren't taken by me XD I ordered Tio (my YoSD Tanpopo) in december and got her sent to my boyfriend's apartment in Japan since I was going to be visiting him at the end of the month. She arrived at his place 10 days early XD;;

He didn't want to open her box at first, but I told him to (said she'd be bored and lonely sitting naked in the box) I wasn't expecting him to do much with her, just maybe put her aside on a shelf or something. The fact that he 'understood' my dolly obsessions was good enough at the time..

Well, turns out he was so taken with Tio he sent me pictures of her everyday for the next ten days. He even did a few photostories with her (he didn't even know what photostories WERE) with his camera phone. I was so touched..



So..yeah. Tio's a pretty special dolly to me.

This one's kind of special to me because it's from one of my favorite photoshoots. I'd finally figured out a good place to take pictures of Hadrian in my house, and I love the color and the shadows in this pic. Usually when I try to take pictures inside, they come out really yellowed and blurry, or I use the flash and everything's really bright. He was also so expressive through that whole shoot, too. Reminds me of how much I love my little guy.

 

Even though I don't have this doll anymore (she was sent to me by mistake when I ordered the same head sculpt as a boy and received a girl instead), this was the first doll I ever held. I had seen many, but was always afraid to hold or touch any of them. I was sad to have to wrap her back up and send her to the person who was waiting for her, so I carefully dressed her in the clothes I bought for my boy and snapped a few mementos before sending her off. It's strange that when I received my boy a week later, put all the same clothes on him and took a picture from nearly the same angle, he was so different even with the same head sculpt and faceup. The girl in this picture may look like my Shadow, but she has something about her that makes her completely different somehow (and no, it's not the boobs).

 

It's not the best picture I've ever taken, but I think it captures who my boy is the best. He looks so real to me in this picture and it made me fall in love with him all over again. He looks so contemplative and sweet. Not to mention I positively adore the way the pic came out when I uploaded it onto my compy.

Late poster is late, but that's okay.

 

I really love this picture of when I'm changing my darling's clothes, 2 days after I've received him. He's my first doll so he's really special, and when I saw this picture that my friend took, I thought it looked like we were hugging, and you can really feel the love from the picture from both of us.

My husband snuck this picture of me and Miss Dunn while we were out for a day at the Botanical Gardens.
It's about the only picture anyone's ever seen with both me and my doll.
It was terribly cute that he took it in the first place...but also that he didn't mind me dragging Maggie around to take pictures on his day off.
It was fun to share with him.

This is my special pic right now. I am so proud of that bench, even if it fits the SD size range much better then my little Aidara. But she looks curious and happy to play on it. It's my desktop and my favorite thing about it is just how brilliant her hair looks on there.
Mm, I need to get some pics with her new eyes. They fit her so much better.

 

This is my favorite picture of Doodle. I was honestly considering selling her because I didn't have the time to do much with her, but after that picture I knew she was never going to go anywhere.

 

Even though it was a rather random photo I ended up with a picture of Johannes which seems to captures his personality very well. Besides, I like the colours. :3

 

I lovelovelove this photo of my girls. It just seems to capture so much of their essence.



Another one that's really special. It's from the arrival shoot of my boy, Grendel. The pose didn't really match his character, but I still loved the way he looked so I snapped it anyway. To me he looked a little unsure & shy, like maybe he was afraid I wouldn't like him. (Now, of course, he's settled in and full of attitude )

 

This because it was my first photo of my first BJD:

 

That's one of my most favorite pictures of Kaleb. It was the day after he arrived, and he just looks so vulnerable in that shot.

 

My first shot of Ansell just out of the box with my best friend's doll. They've both been customized a lot since then, and they haven't seen each other since. Kinda sorta tragic.

 

This image... After 1 weeks of waiting turned into 6 weeks i'd lost all hope of my darling arriving.Then finally she was home. I rushed to get her dressed (it was hard as i was crying to hard!) and wanted to snap a photo to remember the moment and she just looked at me with her sweet little face as if to say "Hey don't worry anymore, i'm home now~"

cried so much that day! lol!



My first doll. and his first day home. I'd been wanting chi for about 4 years, and a special person made it possible for me to get him home My first ever photo. I'll never forget that day...

 

Probably this one. It's the first photo I took of Amelia outdoors, as well as the best I have taken of her so far. It just really shows her personality to me. A little girl lost in thought. &#9829;

I like this one very much even though it is a failed attempt. No worries I'm here for you It makes me smile and it gives me a good feeling.

It's kind of grainy (My mother's the photographer, not me, and she won't let me touch her cameras), and his hair is in his eyes, but I love this photo. I think it's mostly because it gives him a bit of personality, and since he (and I) am still new to this world of BJD, he doesn't quite have a personality defined yet. He looks almost hopeful to me in this picture, and I was just really excited to finally get him standing on his own! Every other time he fell over. XD I keep trying to take more photos of him though, so if I find another one that I love, I'll post it too.

 

this is a really simple and ugly pic of Yuu and me but he looks so real and close to me that I love it...this is my "special picture"
it was before Yuu becam sad and started don't speak to me anymore about his anxieties...T_T

 

This one is special because I have a hard time with close-ups and am quite happy with how this turned out + Odette (Dollmore Kid Vora) was my first doll and I still melt everytime I see her sweet face.


And this pic is special because it is a representation of the San San Kudo sake-drinking ceremony from my daughter's wedding. Odette, again, and Marcel (Dollmore Kid Aidan) are the bride and groom.

 

I think this is the picture that made me really like my AOD Wan Wan and actually made me want to keep her.

 

Erebos's personality had been flopping around since I've had him. It's finally solidified after getting this outfit for him; ethereal, androgynous and, at this point in the story I've been working on, empty and wanting. I can finally move on with the story so I can resolve that empty part.

I have tons of photos that are special to me, but I'll pick one that might seem a bit strange to others..



I really really love this photo. T^T That's Makenshi, my first and most loved doll. Every picture of him is special but this one really makes my heart sing with love~ *sap* It was taken in a hotel room on my bed during a business trip. He's still in HS but is home schooled so here he is being a good boy and doing his homework on his laptop. This photo seems so real to me, I don't know why. His arm joints are odd, you can see into his torso (there's always candy in there 8D), and the lighting is all weird...but I love it. It's one of my favorite pictures of him but I rarely post it anywhere because it seems a bit odd. ^^;

My more special photo is this.

I am charmed with the sweet touch that him gives to my small one and the calm thing that seems quite. It he was taking a crisis with him, and finally I liked it her since like it he was going out.

 

At this point the silly little side project that was Ezra about this time last year is now the most expensive and spoiled doll in my collection after a professional faceup (Ladious), a pair of jointed hands. . . Couldn't tell you quite why this picture is so special, but I'm very partial to it.

This was one of the first pictures of Faye. My sister is an amateur photographer, so she took this. It really makes her look prettier than she actually is.

This is my boy 17. I love this photo because he just looks so sad and lonely. Makes me want to scoop him up and love him lots.




This is definitely one of my favorites of Kingston. He just looks so peaceful to me and I love the colours.



Another of my favorites of Kingston. I love this boy, he's just so playful and easy going.

 

It´s an old photo of Menni, but it´s very special to me, probably because she was new at then and I think this was the first photo of her I that I was satisfyed myself.

 

This is probably my absolute favorite pic of my Yder, Harry, that I've taken up to this point. I fell in love with the Luts Yder for my Harry Potter and quickly bought him. He arrived, and my first thought was "Pink! Pepto-Bismol Pink!" Then he got a faceup (yay!) and glasses (yay!) and....cheap rubber eyes (). And for the next year and a half (and I am not kidding on that one) I debated selling him. I decided to sell him, then I decided to keep him, then sell him, then keep him. The happiest I was with him was this photo:



I finally decided I was going to sell him, when my Mother suggested as a last-ditch effort I throw his daughter's glass eyes in his head.....and that was it. I went out and bought two pairs of glass eyes (what can I say, I was torn), and hoped it would change my feelings. Then I bought some new clothing for him and his other daughter, dressed them for a test-photoshoot, took this picture.....and fell head over heels for him all over again.

I have a couple of Julian.

I like this one because he just looks so curious, and at peace. He looks like he's looking at something only he sees, and it very much fits his character. I could stare at this one for hours, the depth in his eyes just astounds me.



I like this one because it has the same atmosphere as the above one. He's just looking off at the butterflies only he sees, and it just gives me a feeling of peace.
