Aesthetics A little japanese ghost (minifee Hwayu Catacomb) - Human Hwayu + Hwayu A faceups on 08/02/2023

Hello everyone! This is the second project journal I open this year. I though I would do it more often, with all my unfinished dolls

Last year I resisted when Fairyland sold minifee Hwayu catacomb, but when I saw her in stock on denver doll emporium, I couldn't resist longer. I was even a little to hasty to buy her, because the version I really wanted was the unpainted one (with sleeping head), but she was listed on the site AFTER I bought (and get) one with default faceup (and no sleeping head). *sigh*
So currently she is keeping default faceup on normal head, and I don't know if I will ended erasing it or selling this head for getting an unpainted one. I must admit she is very cute, but I'm not fond of owning dolls painted by company (or someone else). I prefer painting faceups myself.

No matter what I'll decide, I'd like to make a little japanese ghost out of her, with two forms. One as "normal girl", and one as "revengeful ghost". A hannya, I think, because I'd like to make horns for her unhappy ghost form.

Here is she with her normal head and default faceup. She is borrowing horns from an other of my dolls:

What I'd like to do:

Aesthetics:

• faceup on Hwayu A head (done on 05/29/2023)
• maybe new faceup on normal Hwayu head (in progress)
• manicure
• bust blush
• back tattoo
• arms tattoos (also a little or a lot on the bust )

Crafting:

• new wig (current is an old thing, and I prefer making it myself)
• horns (done on 05/29/2023)
• maybe mask, but I already have so many to do that I'm unsure
• handpainted silk furisode (in my dreams)

Currently I'm both working on faceup on Hwayu A and on horns for her hannya ghost form.

The left horn wasn't in the same orientation than the right one, so I redo its shape:

Thank you! Hwayu vampire was a mold I wished to buy an never did. But I couldn't resist to her version with a half skull!

Here are the horns painted and varnished!

I used a mat varnish, because I didn't enjoyed much the semi glossy effect of the unvarnished paint.

And a portrait of the Hwayu A with them (and finished faceup)

I also found a blank Hwayu normal head and couldn't stop myself from buying her. So no need to remove fairyland faceup in the end!

 

News! I finally begin the normal head faceup!

I also need to begin her wig.

 

Here is next step on normal face for my Hwayu! And I modified a little the skull head faceup.
