※Warning! Some images contain grotesque elements. Sometimes I buy doll accessories without thinking at all about how to coordinate them or how to use them—just because I like them... Actually, I do that quite often haha
(Perhaps unsuitable for the mood, but Tom Lehrer's song "I Hold Your Hand in Mine" sprang to mind!) I like the feeling of unresolved and painful longing this series imparts. The ghostly hands look so cold and unearthly, and the bright, deep, glossy reds make me think of the pomegranate seeds that trapped Persephone with Hades in the Underworld. Makes me think perhaps that when death came between our model and the owner of those hands, a great love was cut short. Very effective and vivid stuff, especially if you're winging it with accessories and props!
these are gorgeous and haunting... I am especially enamoured with the last two images. The lighting is just fantastic.
@hollyholly Hmm, it's so sweet it's making my teeth and heart rot away. I think this interpretation is a much better piece than my photo, haha. Actually, I was just trying out a new accessory I got, thought ‘Ah, I kinda like this combo,’ and went out to shoot without any plan, then made up poses on the spot. So when I saw the finished scene, all I had were fragmented thoughts like 'an invitation from the night, a quiet farewell, a final goodnight kiss...' XºD But yeah, thanks to that, several new ideas are flashing through my mind. I sometimes call her ‘my Persephone, and also Hades and Demeter.’ Because her greatest charm is the balance of life and death melted into her face. I hope that someday, inspired by this comment, I can take another new photo. By the way, this morning I listened to Tom Lehrer's song “I Hold Your Hand in Mine” on my way to work. Well, love and ruin are always such a beautiful pair @P0laris I'm glad you like the photo! ! I'm especially happy that the second photo from the bottom is included in the best photos you selected—it's one of my favorites too. I couldn't find a retouch that truly resonated, so I experimented with various color tones. Ultimately, the mysterious yet eerie image created by adding a blue tint seemed to perfectly complement those ice-pale hands. Nighttime outdoor shoots are a bit limiting in terms of backgrounds (since I don't carry extra lighting, I can only shoot where streetlights are hhh), but they still create an atmosphere I absolutely can't give up
@lutke I am always grateful as well. It gives me so much strength when taking photos feels like a chore UvU
