Hey y'all! Whimsy here. How's it going? A few weeks ago, I spied a really unique hybrid for sale on Instagram and decided to snag her up for my floating head. This is my first resin bjd, so I've been pretty hyped about her. Yesterday she arrived and I have to say that, though I love her to bits, I feel that there is a TON of work I'm going to need to do, on top of the general making this doll into my character stuff. Here's a couple photos from her box opening. She's a Mirodoll/Leekeworld hybrid, which I thought was so cool. Her butt is so huge, I love it! She also came with a Limwha Mono head which the seller didn't want to separate from the body. Initially I thought maybe I should just sell it, but honestly, I'm thinking of keeping it around for reasons I will be getting into. I tried her on my floating head and I... wasn't particularly pleased with the results Her head is so much bigger than I had imagined it would be on the body! Not at all what I had envisioned, if I am being perfectly honest here. After a while of looking at this doll, I realized I was not going to have a good time... And then I looked to the Limwha head. I didn't care much for what I saw in photos online, but seeing it in real life... I actually really liked it. And I felt like it fit my character so much more than the other head. The Limwha head has a bit of staining from what I imagine was a previous faceup, so I'll be cleaning that up and giving her a new one. Of course, there are other mild flaws to this doll. She's pretty kicky in her posing, and her arms are a little too loose for my liking. Additionally... ... There's this... super rough spot??? I guess from the person trying to fit the two doll pieces together? This area is pretty weird, and it is to be expected, I feel, but there's definitely some experimenting I'll need to do in order to make this work out. I foresee a lot of sanding and possibly some epoxy putty? We'll see what happens. And, of course, once I've finally got her just as I'd like, I'll be giving her some body blushing, a few tattoos, and making her several outfits and a wig So here's my to do list for her: Clean off previous faceup stains Fix back problems Restring and possibly wire arms Create a wig (or two) Do faceup/body blushing/tattoos Obtain 10mm eyes Attach eyelashes Give several facial and ear piercings And finally, Design and make some outfits! I have some specific ideas based on my original sketches of her character, which I will probably share at some point. Anyways, I'm so excited to get started! Thanks to anyone who's dropping by to check out her progress. I hope this is as entertaining for you as it is for me.
Thank you so much! I felt I had to have her when I saw her, and now that she's here I can hardly contain myself!
Oh, interesting combo indeed! Really unique and cool, looking forward to see what you will do with her.
Thank you Sandia, nightowl, and Snyblind! I hope this project will not disappoint! I don't have much to say in regards to progress today. I did spend all of yesterday trying to smooth out her back and make her a little more stable wth her posing. My fingers feel like they want to fall off from stringing and restringing her, but I'm happy to say her back is much less choppy, and she holds her poses much better!
I'm curious where this one goes Maybe it's good that the seller insisted on having the head attatched after all I remember I once showed leeke big butt art body to my cousing and he said it'd be lovely if it only had slightly wider arms... this one has and i'm looking forward to seeing the progress
What a lovely find! I am really partial to both the Mirodoll bust piece and the Leekeworld art body torso, so this is a really interesting thing to see! Looking forward to seeing how you progress!
