For doll makers, especially those making realistic ones, do you base it on a certain person's face. I was just telling myself if I could sculpt 3d, than I have several people I would like to dollify. So being curious, do you draw your inspiration from real people's faces? Sorry this is in the wrong section!!! Mods can you move it? Please
I like this idea for a thread! I work at a grocery store bakery, and I see a lot of kids. I've always been an artist, mind you, so I already have that mind set; but when I see a particularly adorable kid sometimes I think "wow they'd make a great ball jointed doll!" Haha that probably sounds a little creepy. I don't mean it that way though. Also I'd love for my boyfriend to model for when I make a boy BJD. I think part of the reason why I'm so attracted to his skinny tall figure is because it reminds me of those handsome looking SD males. Also, his hands are vieny and long the way a lot of the new SD (especially SOOM) boys' hands have been made lately. Those make me want to sculpt too.
Haha, I used to wade through pictures of actors and models and think: "now THAT'S a nose I would want for my doll." There's something about noses. I don't care much for the rest of the face, but the nose is usually inspired by someone I've seen on telly or in some magazine.
