8/25-8/28: Little Art #2: You and your Doll! (Prize correction!)

    1. Today's Challenge:

       Little Art Contest

       Create a picture of you and your doll.
      Try to create a picture that shows how you play with your dolls, or something you really enjoy about them or the doll hobby.

      Image must include your sketch of you as well as your doll. This must be a new image, not something you're recycling from your portfolio.

      You can create your image by drawing, painting, making a photo collage from magazine cut-outs, 3d rendering, drawing a short comic (no text), drawing in photoshop, making a picture out of macaroni, drawing stick figures... the options are very open.

      We're not looking for masterpieces - this is about speed and creativity. :) To make you focus your creativity on one piece, each member may only submit one entry.

      The only real restrictions are:
      • There cannot be any photos of real dolls used, either in collage or tracing.
      • No dialogue or speech/thought bubbles, though artistically challenged members may label. ;)

      Art ability is a plus, but you may win on just a creative idea or interesting way of expressing it!

      How to Win
      Send your image to DoADaily by 5pm EST August 27th, 2009.

      Entries will be posted for member voting from 10pm August 27th to 9pm August 28th.

      The best entry will be selected by member vote. The winner will be announced on Friday, August 28th.

      Images must be appropriate for a PG-13 audience.

      Who Can Enter
      This challenge is open to all members and forum staff. :smallcake If you would like to enter, but do not want the prize, please just state that in your PM. We'd like to see what everyone has to offer!

      The colors are lovely and the piece can be worn a variety of ways on several different sizes of doll.

    2. Must it be a picture that we (ourselves) have drawn... or can I have a friend draw one (who is not on DoA) and submit it?

    5. Does it have to be in color? Or can I just make a sketch?

    6. For size, use your judgement. We don't have a set size, but please don't make it large enough to annoy.

      And you don't need to color in your picture. A sketch is fine. :)

    13. Obviously just a cut and paste error :) ... since the voting thread was posted yesterday (27th) the voting couldn't possibly be 13-14, could it now? (Critical thinking skills at work... ;) )

      That aside, BOY am I glad I didn't enter. I'd have been blown right away. These are great entries and a joy to behold!

    14. Obviously, as this thread gives dates that are current, the other one has a mistype. There shouldn't be any reason for arguing...(unless anyone here has the ability to time travel...) It's been corrected in the voting thread.
