@Raetic: Congrats on your cute Constantine! Unfortunately, I don't have good news about Millie Choupie. Lillycat usually releases sculpts by pre-orders, and there can be month and even year gaps in between them for a specific sculpt. She does sometimes hold flash sales to sell leftover dolls, so you might get lucky! In the meantime, I would definitely keep an eye on the MP. That's probably your best bet.

Also, she's mentioned that she's going to end sales of her existing sculpts soon and work on a new line with a new aesthetic, although I'm not sure if we have details or a time table yet? Does anyone know more? Haha, don't panic until you hear from someone more well-informed than I am XD

 

She sometimes has a few extra in stock, because she must order a specific number from her casting company (f.e. if they only do cast no. of 50, and she has 47 orders, she'll have 3 extra). You could message her if you're feeling lucky, see if she got any extra

 

@Raetic your girl is lovely congrats ! I have to wait a little longer for my first Lillycat girl, I ordered my Kitty Jolie with face up. My order status also changed to Preperation in progress Yay !

There she is! It's such a lovely color. I put her next to blue Ombre for comparison. It's really weird to see them next to each other for me, because character wise, she's going from super bright skin to a smokey dark skin xD They don't even look like the same doll to me almost.

 

Oh my, I just got a 'preparation in progress' e-mail for my Lilas! I didn't expect this so soon, wow. She will have a face-up, so it will still take a while, but I really didn't think Lilas would arrive at Lillycat's studio for atleast another four weeks haha.
Anyone else having news about their dollies? I'm really looking forward to seeing all the kitties too!

 

I can't believe my good fortune! I managed to get in on the millie choupie preorder by the skin of my teeth! I found out my car insurance claim from two years ago is finally going to pay me which means I'm more than able to afford her! I can't believe it! Päivä's getting a very cute friend!

I'm really excited about the new hybrid body! Did anyone else order Millie Choupie at all? I haven't seen anyone mention it!

Anyone knows if Releaserain heeled shoes fits with Cerisedoll v2 body? I found a comparison list with many shoes and appears some brands that fits but one of them is the same brand that a pair I own (from ebay seller) and them doesn't fits on my doll.
So... Anyone has tried the Release Rain high heeled shoes on cerisedoll?

 

Ahh yeah, I can't seem to help it! Fairyland held my heart for a long time but recently I'm just waaaay too enchanted with Lillycat and Dust of Dolls!

Also, Lillycat just posted a photo of a humongous pile of boxes, so Kitty jolies will definitely be shipped this week I think

In the meantime I have cleaned Ombre, but found her outfit doesn't go well with her skintone lol. Her wig and undies still look great, so that's at least something lol.
I've been trying on stuff I have all day, but most doesn't fit and the rest didn't look good lol.

Here's a terrible flash photo of my 1/4 setup I took last night. Sorry about the flash, I know it all makes them look like nightmare material with the eyes and such lol.

I've been starting to think of names for my new girl too (the pale blue Mille Choupie!) I kind of like the name Mille but I also hate naming dolls after their sculpts (personal thing ahah). Since Päivä has a Finnish name I was thinking of following that trend. Some of the names I was eyeing are Eija, Lahja, and Seija (the 'ja' is pronounced like 'ya' - except I don't know if people will realize that? I don't know if it bothers me?) Ahaha.


@Snow - ahh your crew is great! You should just leave your new girl like that! Right? As to the flash issue - try taping some tracing paper or tissue over the flash before you photograph! It will diffuse the light a little and help counter that really harsh lighting!

 

She feels so bare though xD Maybe I'll make her some legwarmers and some more accessories. I do like the "just undies" look on her xD
And I've been photographing for like 8 years now, but flash photography is something I've still not really bothered with xD Mostly because when I did try, I could never get it the way I wanted. And I'm a bit of a quitter lol xD
This photo was taken with my phone though. But tracing paper would probably work for that too, wouldn't it? I'll try it next time I take a quick night time snapshot xD
Oh and on the names, I like Lahja and Seija best. I'm Dutch, so to me pronouncing it as ya is the only logical way anyway xD

Did you all see the giant stack of Kitty Jolie she's ready to mail off on her instagram? I'm excited!

 

Yeah I saw the giant pile and have been anxiously awaiting a shipping notification, but no such luck yet D:
Hopefully she is on her way though and they just haven't been able to update all the statuses. I mean, there's a looooot of order statuses to update lol.
I have a tiny hope she will be in time for my birthday Thursday. But probably not!

Ooooh, I woke up to an email from the delivery company that she's been delivered at my parents today I'll see them Thursday so just two more days

 

Waaaaah people are receiving Kitty Jolies?!?!?! I'M FREAKING OUT GUYS! Congrats!!!!! I'll let you know if mine arrives, but so far I'm on "preparation in progress." Mine has two faceups though, so it might be coming later.

 

Mine has both faceups too! Aaaaaaa~ I'm so anxious! No news yet, but this is so exciting! I can't wait to see what others do with her.

I hope it's the stripe one! And hopefully it won't take long for faceup girls to get out. Unless the casting company sends them to her separately from the blanks, they should be included in the magic shipping box pile!

 

The shipping box pile was from Lillycat sending them out, not them coming in.

My kitty has a face up I totally did not expect her yet I checked my email during lunch break and I had a notice from the dutch handler not Lillycat. The package was delivered at my neighbours house . anyhows she is here and I love her color, she came with lilac/purple eyes.

 

I'm freaking out! My husband is working at home today, and he just texted me a picture of a quilted pink and white bag from Lillycat! Kitty Jolie is home, and I had no idea she was on the way

 

I know, I saw the picture and mentioned it. That's the "magic shipping box pile" I was referring too, lol! Unless the casting company is sending -her- a separate shipment of faceupped dolls, then that pile of boxes that she's been prepping and sending out should also have faceupped girls in there.

I don't understand what wasn't clear? XD

I guess they waited to ship everything out until the faceups were done as well. Which explains why the blank Kitty I ordered got shipped two weeks after they arrived in France.
There was no guarantee they would have been in there though, until Aeryn mentioned otherwise. These faceups got done really fast compared to other companies. And I'm fairly sure that in the past she's sent out blank dolls before the faceupped ones.The casting company doesn't do the faceups.

Another pink bag though... I know you guys are excited about it, but I am seriously disappointed. I can't say for sure yet, since I won't be able to open mine until Thursday, but I'm a bit sad and confused. I've seen dolls arriving with the new bag so I don't know what's going on. If I do get the pink bag I really do hope I can exchange it or something.

 

The casting company -does- do them. I asked. They do the faceups based on Lillycat's designs.

@Raetic I ordered Kitty Jolie on September 29th and she arrived today. So 4,5 months approximately.

 

@Raetic You can check the item listing for the processing time. Millie Choupie has a processing time of 100 working days (Monday-Friday). Usually Lillycat is a week or two early, but in the case of Kitty Jolie, I think it took 102 working days for me? I'm not counting holidays, though, just weekdays. It's actually a lower number of days, since holidays don't count.

@Snow Do you mind if I ask why one box is preferable to another? I generally recycle them anyway, unless the doll is limited/a fullset and the box is valuable to have. What do her other boxes look like? I have no idea XD

Oh it's not about the box, but the carrier bag her dolls come with. Somewhere last year dolls started getting shipped with new bags.
Here is a comparison photo of the two.
While the pink one is great and can fit like 6 dolls if you tetris them in right, I don't need another one. Instead, I got really excited about the new bag, which is suited for mainly one doll. It's a kind of carrier I don't have. I personally also just love how it looks and how practical it seems.

It's the bag I had in mind when I bought Kitty Jolie. And I don't really know what's going on with it. I posted a message on Facebook asking if it was a limited thing or something. I don't want to make a big deal out of it, although I guess I already have, but I really had my heart set on the smaller bag, without even realizing it could be the bigger bag. Guess it's my own fault for not clarifying at the time when I ordered.
I'll stop whining about it now lol.

 

@Snow Ahh, I see, I didn't realize it was a carrier. It does sound like a useful thing to have.

She's gorgeous, but... She wasn't shipped with a face guard, and her eyelashes got smashed D: And the ear magnets are too weak. If I pick her up, the ears fall off. She's not even wearing a wig cap, just a wig. I don't want to be troublesome, but I'm wondering if I should say something about it? I'm worried about losing an ear. I have really strong earth magnets, but they don't fit into the slots the current magnets are in...

She's really very, very pretty, though

Yeah the new bag is gorgeous. I might just uh... message lilycat now about the millie choupie orders since I was loathe to give up that grey bag from my dark turquoise ninon when I sold her. TBH I saw some people selling lillycat dolls on here without bags and I just won't buy without the bags because they're that amazing.

Sorry to hear about the faceup issue? I would message Lilycat about both since not only might it get you a solution but since most of lilycat's dolls don't have magnets, she'd be aware of the issue and could fix it for others in the future. Same with the faceguard.

 

I had this issue with my batchix mini machina! I suggest double the magnetsyoi don't even have to do a permanant adhesive. Just stick the extramadnet with a little tape under the wig it should stick better!

 

seconding this suggestion! For my Fairyland pukifee's horns, even though she had magnets already I did put a second pair underneath her wig and then the horns stuck very well!

 

I'm disappointed that tracking numbers have not been updated. We all paid for shipping service, the least Lillycat could do is provide the numbers in a timely manner. Most of us received preparing for shipment notifications on the 4th, and we saw the instagram picture of boxes going out on the 12th. It's now the 17th and people have started receiving their dolls, but from what I've seen none of us have been given our tracking numbers? I find that concerning since I am sure many of us want the ability to know when a package will arrive (when we have paid for the service) and can arrange our schedules to receive the package accordingly.

 

Have you messaged her about it? That seems strange since I've always received a tracking number, though usually I have to log into my account to see it.

I am really shocked to see that Lilas is already shipping. If I would have known I would have paid my layaway off last week so that I could get my girl shipped out with this first batch. I sent the last payment last night though so *fingers crossed*.

Perhaps this new company is working a lot faster than the one she was working with previously. I was all set to get ahead of the game and start making a couple of design collages and order some eyes so I would be ready and it looks like I'll be behind like usual lol, but it will be amazing to get her. Now I just need to order some fiber for her wig and start picking a faceup artist.

 

@bronzephoenix ooooh, she looks lovely, and that wig looks perfect on her. I would definitely contact Lillycat though. After all, you paid for a faceup and it arriving with smooshed eyelashes could have been avoided.

 

My Kitty arrived! I'm excited to see her, but I won't be able to open the parcel until I visit my parents over the weekend.

 

Ahhh, thanks for the magnet suggestions! I definitely can't replace the magnets- the sculpting and placement is too precise and well done. But adding a magnet beneath the wig could work if I can find small enough earth magnets. Why didn't I think of that Thanks! Maybe I should warn her about the weak magnets for future reference?

 

You can tape them on or I just put a dot of eye putty underneath - usually between the eyeputty and the magnets she came with, the new magnets stick really well.

 

Yeah, many of my dolls with magnetic ears or horns like that I double up on magnets sometimes. They get weaker if there's something between them. I made an awful-looking visual in MSpaint of how I usually do it since I'm away from my dolls right now.


I don't even glue or tape them, to be honest. I let them kind of rely on each other. However, if the part is particularly heavy, it would help to tape down magnets.

Yaaaay I got to unpack her today The antique pink is a really special and odd color. She was strung so much tighter than my other girls and actually holds her arms in different poses, I am slightly amazed xD
I unpacked her with my curious parents watching and of course she had to come out of the pillow butt first lol.

Edit: I emailed Lillycat asking about the bag and now I just feel like a dick lol. Reminding me that it is a free gift after all. And she's right. But yeah I am just that petty to get disappointed over it. Anyway, I apologized, as I never meant to sound ungrateful and I guess that's the end of it. I won't talk about it anymore as I feel bad enough as it is.

I always assumed the bags were built into the cost. I suspect she could offer bags at an increased price - I would totally pay extra for bags instead of boxes. Boxes are useless. Bags I can do stuff with!

My girl's location is complicated. XD According to the tracking she's actually in the town I live in now, but when I ordered her I lived in a town 45 minutes away so that's where she's headed. XD The PO Box is still good so it just means I have to make a bit of a detour after work tomorrow. It's Home Visit day so that shouldn't take long at all! Must remember to put her wig and clothes in my bag for tomorrow.
