After you gain your access to market place here, you can always commission someone from MP. I've seem some really talented tailors over there.

There are also people selling brand new hand-made kimono sets in the market place now.

Also, Tatabjd.com sometimes sells kimono sets. On ebay, there's a store called "Oriental Boutique" that sells nice hand-made kimono, and so does BlueBlood.

 

Hunt Y!J and be prepared to pay - but there are the most amazing sets made by talented seamstresses sold there.

 

Just to add to what Quiet Queen said--often the Y!J kimono sets don't include tabi and zori, but those are sold on Y!J separately, on a fairly regular basis. If you're patient, you can put together all the pieces.

 

It does if you're buying Rangetu's work! But not as a rule, no.

 

I'll give another shout for miniorient. Over a five year period I've bought a number of items from them, all beautifully made. No zori and tabi but the silk hakama outfits are marvellous.

 

I'm glad I looked this up too. I'm trying to find a kimono or somebody who makes them for my upcoming baby. ♥
