Wait Times 6+ month wait

Aug 15, 2022

    1. I placed an order for a gem of doll aurora a long while ago on bjdivas. Im embarrassed to say I didn't do anything about it yet because it was over 10 months ago that the order started processing...:doh I have seen that gem of doll isn't that extremely slow on the wait room on here. Ive been worrying about it for months but now I'm very worried something happened to her. :...(Ive ordered from bjdivas before and i know they are a great dealer. I have emailed them about the order to see whats going on. I feel like a bad doll parent considering how long its been. Not a single sign of an update on shipping or that she arrived since November when it was processed :pout:
Is it fine? Anyone have a similar story?

    2. I don't necessarily have a similar story with BJDivas, but it is important to realize they batch their orders. So while you placed the order they may not have given the dealer the order right away. I once had a dealer hold onto my order for two months before placing it (knowing there was a long wait) as they had to meet their own quota for the order before they ordered. Some companies require a certain amount of merchandise to be purchased of their dealers. I can't say Gem of Doll is one of them, I'm not certain.

    3. I ordered a body from Dollzone (apparently a longer wait period company - only found out after placing the order!) through BJDivas. I checked the wait rooms and the list and such and settled in for the wait; thankfully, I had other projects to keep me busy! It took about 6-7 months or so before they sent me a notice saying that they'd gotten my body in and would ship it out to me soon. It was a bit of a wait, but no trouble beyond my patience. If Gem of Doll has a good reputation, I'd trust that things are okay! Sometimes places get backlogged some. (I'm not sure of its reputation myself, but I haven't heard of it the way I've heard of Dollshe, so...)

For non-BJDivas stuff, I got another doll in recently, a Black Cherry Dolls Zeri, and even though it was a bit of a rough ride, it went okay in the end. I ordered her in December 2021 and received her last month. The site said it'd be about a 3-4 month wait, but they're based in Russia and with everything that happened after I put the order in, I wasn't sure what would come of it, especially since they went quiet on their Instagram for a while. But they emailed me in June asking about shipping options, and maybe a month after that, my doll got sent out! She did get sent out in two boxes, one from Harucasting (who did the casting) with the unassembled doll, and an envelope from Black Cherry with the CoA, elastic cut to size, and such, and the one from Black Cherry got turned around at customs the first time they tried to send it out. Made me glad I got the actual doll straight from Harucasting! But even with that, everything got to me in short order and, beyond not having the like, Official(tm) box for her, everything is perfectly fine.

    4. I'm past the 2 year mark for a sculpt I ordered from BJDivas, but every time I email them they have said he's hopefully coming soon. At this point I'm just kind of leaving it up to fate (but have considered asking for a refund because lets face it, 2 years is a long time.) Another order from them I did eventually receive but it took over a year and a half. So I think it may just be a longer wait for you unfortunately. That said 6 months is a pretty normal wait for a doll. I would be upset if it took more than a year though, unless it was a company with a reputation for slow fulfillment like dollshe. I now almost always order through CS unless I have a reason not to, they always deliver my dolls so fast, never waited more than 6 months.

Youre not a bad doll parent or anything, but I'm sure you are dying to meet your new doll. Once it arrives you will forget how long you had to wait. Hang in there!

    5. I went through a smaller UK dealer for one of my dolls, took a year to get her since she had to wait for enough dolls for the company to ship to her. I haven’t ordered through BJDivas yet, but I haven’t heard many bad stories about them other than orders from smaller companies. Patience is definitely a virtue in this hobby. You’re not a bad doll parent if you’re starting to get anxious, it happens to the best of us. -hugs- Just keep getting in touch with the dealer and see if you can get any updates. If China is like anything here in the UK we’ve had a massive heat wave and that has put a hold on a few things. Though I’m not sure where GoD are located at.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope your doll comes home soon!

    6. When an order's status is labeled as "processing" or "processed" that just means Divas got your order/payment and/or has placed the order with Gem of Doll, and it'll continue on being that status during the wait period. Like you said, Gem of Doll tends to have a long wait time, so it's pretty normal to see the order just sitting at "processing" for several months. The status'll change once the order's shipped out to you (and Divas will reach out to you via email before mailing the doll)! No need to worry about it aha, if there was an issue Diva's will get it sorted out on your behalf anyways too. And you're not a bad doll parent! The way we engage in different aspects of the hobby is different from person to person but there's no real "right" way to do it, at least not here.

    7. Wait times increased substantially in the last few years as well. I've used bjdivas many times but the time between asia and home is super long right now. That's just the new world.

In a hobby that already took a long time to get, it's only gotten longer so it's not you or the dealer or the doll makers fault. It's just they way it is.

If something had happened you'd be informed so relax and wait patiently.

I highly suggest you follow their Facebook page, as known delays are also posted there, like a box from DC this week that the shipping company...well it's unclear what happened but the boxes were waterlogged and the dolls broken....
But like I said those customers were NOTIFIED.
Hearing nothing is a good thing ;)
