5th Motif Discussion - part 4

I'm putting my Goowha head on a Dollstown 18 yrs boy body @emeraldwings I'll need to mod either the neck to fit, or more likely, make/find an adapter to get the head to work. Twigling makes adapters for her Eloy head (which was made for the Timeless body). She doesn't sell them individually, but it does work. It'll usually allow the head to fit on an 11cm neck, I believe.

Alice's Collections has a neck protector that may be able to work, but I honestly don't know. I haven't seen anyone use it for that purpose. They're pretty cheap.

 

@bewaretheshort1 I have a Dollstown 18yr boy body and it's gorgeous. I have it for my Nabarro Sumner, but I think it's a little too thick for what I'm wanting for Goohwa. That darn neck is such a problem. I put my Eloy on the Timeless body and the proportions are amazing! I might just have to buy a neck adapter and take a chance buying a body for Goohwa. I have a good 30 different types of bodies at my house for different dolls and the neck just doesn't work on any of them, except the Timeless.

What about the Dollits body? It has similar proportions to the Timeless (I’m also curious about the Argodoll body, not for this hybrid, but for a similar aesthetic, as it seems it may be a bit short and smaller overall.)

I have a Dollits body that I’ll probably be able to pick up at the post office this weekend, and a Venitu I can swap out (I actually plan the body for my Sumner) for anyone interested

 

@americanseamstress Oh yes! Please do share. I was considering a DZ 71.5cm body with a 11.5cm neck, so they'd be fairly close in measurements. I'd love to see how Venitu looks on the Dollits.

The hands are not original to the body.

I also wanted to say, while the head seems a bit big for me, I definitely have hybrids that I'm satisfied with that are worse. Goowha may be even better, as his features seem finer/smaller. I feel that Venitu's eyes are rather widely-spaced and large for his realism, which makes the head seem bigger than it is.

 

I'm actually surprised at how much slighter the Dollits body looks with this head compared to the Timeless. Perhaps it's the stick-thin legs:

To give my two cents into the 'does RGM03 clothes fit Venitu'-thing - I remember seeing a box opening on facebook where someone mentioned that the Red Kind clothes set didn't even fit their RGM03 body (mostly in the chest).
So as long as the clothes are a bit loose I think -most- ringdoll clothes (since you can pick the size with every outfit) should fit the timeless body - the suits, for example, or Boyds werewolf outfit, because its adjustable, as far as I can remember.

(And Lucifer Style C was on the RGM02 body, so way too slim. I have the Kay fullset meant for the RGM01, that doesn't fit Venitu at all too).

Is anyone still waiting on full Venitus?

 

I am. Paid in full but ordered late. Was just debating on whether to get worried. It's been 4 months so still within the 3-5 month time frame they stated to be aiming for. Besides I can't paint him for at least another month.

 

I just made my final payment for my two through BJDivas. I ordered late as well in February. But hoping I will have my guys by June so work at least on face ups can be done, and body work a couple of weeks later. Depending on weather. But so excited that my layaway is done. Come on perfect conditions to get orders asap.

 

I am also waiting on a full doll (copper oriental). I ordered the day the preorder opened and I finished the layaway in February. However, I also ordered a pair of extra hands and feet in blue resin for another doll and last time I ordered blue resin from Fifth Motif, he told me that that color was usually cast last, so I am expecting my order to ship late.

 

I´m. Paid in full the day the preorder opened for BJDivas, my Venitu will be in cooper oriental but I asked them to send it to me late because I went on a trip
I already returned from my trip and yesterday they sent me my tracking number

 

Just wanted to pop in here real quick to clarify something about waiting times: As is the case with all of the layaways placed through us, my group fronted the payment for all Fifth Motif layaway orders, so that they could enter the production queue right away, with the customer's first payment. The time-consuming step is that it's only Mr. Cho and his brother working on all of these orders, so it's really slow going. Nonetheless, your layaways aren't holding the production of your orders up.

 

Ah, I'm not the only one waiting. I kept getting worried that my Venitu had arrived to the US but since my post office doesn't leave pick up slips sometimes I'm paranoid he'll be shipped back (because for some reason I'm worried I won't get a tracking number?? lol) So excited for everyone who purchased a Venitu!

BJDivas thank you so much for all your work and your friend too! And yes, poor Mr. Cho and brother!

 

I ordered my Venitu on 11/24/17 paid in full and just yesterday got an email that he has shipped

Well, I'm still waiting and will be waiting for 2 more months, because I'm away from my country now due to my work and I personally asked to postpone my Venitu until end of May. But I do think about him every day ( not sure if he is ready and waiting for me in the box, but who knows?)

 

When I asked mr Cho on facebook about customs for my doll which was paid by layaway he said he was finishing paid in full dolls first (which I think is fine!). I finished my l/w this month for venitu and am super excited about him!

 

I got my shipping notice 4 days ago. That means it's finally time to seriosly think about his style and look, as I literally have nothing for him yet >_<

 

Are you guys getting shipping notices from @BJDivas or mr cho directly? :0c
I know I’ve paid in full already and I think I started my layaway on the second(?) day of sales

 

I've got an email from Mr Cho. And I paid in full on the first day.

 

I think because BJDivas told me my guys will ship directly from Mr. Cho i will get tracking number and information from Mr. Cho. BJDivas only made the orders and payments to Mr. Cho, and those doing layaway we had dolls paid in full by them, we are paying them back for doing that. So I paid them back as fast as I could.

 

I got the email with tracking number directly from Mr. Cho on thursday and then on friday I got an email from BJDivas via PayPal credit which is how I paid for him.

I am sure BJDivas got notice from Mr. Cho just in case the email went into your spam folder. Also BJDivas puts information into PayPal so they notify you as well. All trying to keep orders running smoothly.

If you ordered full set(s), you will hear from Mr. Cho first when your order is shipping.

You will also hear from us through PayPal later, because we need to add the tracking number in their system, which makes them send you an automatic e-mail. However, if this automatic e-mail is the first time you hear about your order being shipped, please check your Spam folder, because we only hear from Mr. Cho AFTER he has put in the tracking number into our shared spreadsheets. So, it might be much later that you get this automatic e-mail from PayPal.

If you ordered head(s) only, you will get your shipping notice from us. We take care of shipping individual heads because Mr. Cho doesn't have the packaging materials for the small orders.

And those of you who answered my question too! I feel so much better now that I'm not worrying I missed the delivery lol.

wow! that's a wonderful prop. I've always wanted a bike for my big guys, but I'd need a bigger house.
I bought a scooter for my chiclines years ago, but the proportions were all wrong.

 

I was trying to find a 33 inch long bike, but to rare. This one is 28 inches from tire to tire.it may not be to scale but in background or even some other ideas it will work. EBay has a few but be sure to get proof of length.

 

I'm so excited, my Venitu arrived today!! 7 days from Mr. Cho's email. I usually get EMS packages in 3 days but he was held up in customs for most of that time, don't know why though, they didn't open the box or anything. I'm super psyched that he's here. Photos to come when I open him up

 

Could have been laziness with the customs, or could also very busy.

@Teseya I'm doing only a design, creature an outfit the work of a Russian master NikaNIka (www.etsy.com/ru/shop/NikaNikashop). She made a bespoke outfit for me in 2014. Or do you need a similar fashion design?
Yes, these are all hands of Venitu. I have only two timeless bodies. But I used a collage here in Photoshop (many hands)

Hi folks! I wanted to pop in since but I finally got my grail Venitu boy (bought secondhand)! His wig is a stopgap out of my wig pile until I get something more fitting, and I don’t know what makeup style I want for him yet (other than “realistic”). But I am already in love.

I cannot string him properly to save my life tho. His elbows and knees are far too kicky. Is there a tutorial or tips somewhere I could reference?

 

Congrats @emac Try YouTube. Even if not restring of a Venitu you can see how people suede or use silicone kips. Most companies that sell BJD stuff sell kips. I just bought different ones from Mint on Card before they close shop.
