    2. Mine shipped too! I hope they get to me safely, Finland announced only yesterday that tomorrow they are going to bring back a similar exception law as during ww2 to restrict people from moving outside, and it might mean that parcels don't move as they did before.

    3. Got a notice, too!
@vauhtikatti I've got my fingers crossed for you!

    4. Ooh good luck to you all with shipping notices! I hope they arrive quickly and safely!

    5. my hands are in NY. due home on monday. anyone get theirs yet,?

    6. I got mine today - yay! they are so gorgeous!

    7. Mine are supposed to come tomorrow. Can't wait to see them. They are the wrong color so I will change them. Hope it's not too hard!

    8. what colour did you need?

    9. Oriental, but there was only pale.

    10. yes me too, and i think the honey matches a peach more, which is ok, since they can all share. will be interesting to play match the paint shade as it were . but it's so worth it, they are just gorgeous.

    11. Can't wait!!

    12. @Mahgiep That's weird they didn't have oriental, since in their Facebook update where they listed the sets not sold in the lottery there was one set in oriental, if I recall right. Maybe it was a cancelled order. But they sold out too, so it's not really helping to "what if".

Mine are still in Korea as far as I can tell. There are barely any flights coming in from abroad so I'm not expecting them even this month.

    13. @vauhtikatti Ah yes I saw that and immediately contacted BJDivas, but my hands were too far along to switch.

    14. They're here. So beautiful! My grandmother who loved to paint told me the hands were the most important thing to her. I will always think of her when looking at paintings and sculpts of hands.

    15. They're done. It was not hard to match them. I only used flesh and a brown pastel. Of course they are drying so I don't know for absolutely sure. But they look great. I don't care much about seams so there are a few lines that should blend but I was afraid if I sanded the seams, it would pick up the color differently and make a wide mess. Overall, I'm pleased!

    16. piiiiccccctttttuuuuurrrrrreeeeessss! please and thank you. need inspiration!

    17. Top left you can see where I started with the pale hands next to the phone hands in Oriental that came with my doll. And you can see my process.

    19. Thank you! I’m glad it was easy and they are now all set so I barely remember them being in the wrong color.

    22. @Mahgiep - Excellent colour matching! They look fantastic!

    23. @Quiet and Insane thank you!
Can't wait to see what others do with their hands for more inspiration!

    24. well, drat. no hands today. no updates either. they went through customs, then out to the sorting place in NY. still there or in transit or trying to make a break for it. ?
I can only imagine the sight of eight bodiless hands creeping around the northeast. :aeyepop: THAT would keep people home.

    25. i actually snorted out loud to that
was visualizing the vintage black & white movie with the severed hand creeping up the back of the car seat. can't remember the name of it, was it maybe one of Ed Wood's films? my dad was a fan, showed us all kinds of things kids had no business seeing, but i remember it with much fondness now. heh

    26. Oh, love Ed Wood movies. Plan 9 from Outerspace. Also the Johnny Depp Ed Wood. Might be good to watch today...
The bodiless hands also reminded me of a kpop song where the singer says "cripping, cripping, cripping" in an attempt to pronounce "creeping" that I imagine in the background.

    27. i wish i knew exactly which movie it was, but it's got the whole classic two teenagers in a car snogging a little, and the hand is crawling up the back of the seat.... and cripping, went somewhere else with that, more of a dance move haha
i was thinking of doing some of my basic bands with scrapes and/or band aids like skateboard road rash or (eh hem) brawling... mine's Venitu so i think even switching a wig out and he can be somebody else so quick...

    28. we should all do some creeping hand pics. I'm thinking Minions rather than horror hands around here. my crew doesn't scare easily. :hamster:

    29. Lurch's little buddy "Thing"! and yes, minions - carrying things on the backs of their hands? i adore that <3
and same here, i have a lot of fairly terrifying in their own right type characters... it's hard to get everything together with all their names and backstories. and you think a wig or an outfit will fit one (always Venitu... he's never going to have pants) and it doesn't, but, slowly... slowly...

    30. Oh my lord  now that's a funny mental image! Imagine how many more are waiting on hands now too, and how many of those are off creeping about.

    31. @Mahgiep Holy cow you did an amazing job! :aeyepop: If you hadn't told us I would not have noticed at all that they weren't the same color.

    32. Thanks @sno4wy! Color has always been a strength of mine. But I was just very lucky to only need two pastels (a flesh and a brown) to get it to match. The hands are a slight bit blushed too where I pushed more brown (palms and knuckles) as long as the match was working. I was pretty nervous about getting a color so far off but now I know I can do it. So I have less fear about color matching in the future. I also have matched some Pygmalion heads to oriental skin using a green pastel (complimentary color).

    33. Resin matching isn't too hard with a little trial and error (and colour theory of course). :) Took me a little to get used to, but it's fun.

    34. My hands set hasn't even found a flight yet, they're still in some storage in Korea, I may get them during this month if I am lucky. If I watch the situation of flights to Finland from anywhere right now, the competition isn't too fierce. Without traveler traffic there aren't many direct flights so the hands are probably about to see more world than I ever have.

    35. Awww. Shucks!
No EMS mail air flights to North America as of today. Yikes!

    36. ah noooo. i have so many things in motion... thank you for the heads up

    37. My hands set tracking now says the parcel was "returned for aviation security reasons, Prohibited for air conveyance". I don't exactly know what that means, if it is the same situation that @Mahgiep mentioned above or something else.

I don't know if the parcel was returned all the way to Mr. Cho or just to some storage, and if this means no parcels from Korea will come here at all at the moment. Quite a situation. I just hope they don't burn my hands set or anything lol.

    38. A great deal of international flights are canceled lately, so that's probably what happened to your package. I don't think it's your particular package that got banned from the flight or something. It will probably wait somewhere until the flights are resumed.

I contacted Mr. Cho just before he was going to send the packages and asked not to ship mine until the situation returns to normal (more or less), so now my package sits safely in Mr. Cho's closet (or somewhere ;) ).

@vauhtikatti, maybe you could ask Mr. Cho to contact the post office and try to find out what's going on exactly. It's always better to know I guess.

    39. Mr.Cho just wrote to me that my hand set has indeed been returned - and it is not coming to me in the near future. I asked him not to send it out again if he gets it back from the post office. If he doesn't get it back - well, I don't know.

    40. Wow, sorry to hear. Hopefully not lost in his post office and he can send it out when EMS ends the suspension. Right now they project in May. At least they are probably safe. I have a head and 2 expensive outfits in transit. Who knows if I'll get any of them.

    41. @vauhtikatti - hopefully S.KR has some fairly efficient procedures in place from earlier in the year with the import/export freezes. and, he is such a nice man, i am sure he will work with you to get them sent later :thumbup
:clover :clover sending some luck :clover :clover

    42. That’s so frustrating! Hopefully it was just unlucky to not get out before EMS stopped and it can go out after they open up again.

    43. New discussion thread: Part 5 !
