May I share here my Venitu? had never appreciated the sculpt until I got him

 

Wow he loos really unique @Rook_Sever :O And I adore his wig!

ON a sidenote, I ordered Granados new jointed hands in the lads/supermodel size for my Venitu after carefully comparing the measurements. The aesthetic is really similar, and I know the resin is a 90% match, so I'm crossing my fingers that it works out.

 

He's gorgeous @Rook_Sever!! I love how sinister the face up makes him.

@Quiet and Insane thank you! Honestly the faceup is by previous owner, but they allowed me to use it, and it fits the character

 

It's really amazing! It would have been a shame to wipe something that cool.Though it does make it a little hard to guess which resin colour he is.

He is copper oriental, but unevenly greened. And I swapped his hands to Dollstown18 hands. Strange action, but both characters needs hands of each other's body

 

Oh I see that now! I thought he might've been a lighter colour but that could be just the lighting. No I fully understand the hands thing - swapping hands to fit a character to me is just like swapping wigs and eyes, it makes them more accurate to how you envision them.

Dear Venitu owners! Please can you tell me how much did new Venitu doll cost while it was being produced? I saw some propositions on second hand market about 1500 USD per doll. Is it normal price for Venitu or is it overcharged because the doll was officially discontinued this week and such prices are the result of this information?

 

A Venitu was about 800-900USD. You need to have in mind that secondhand prices often include custom fees that an owner had to pay. And such custom fees might have been up to $300. I'd say $1500 is on a high end.

 

@Mysha thank you for the quick and full response! Can you please tell me if Venitu had only basic set (doll body, one head, one pair of feet’s, one pair of hands and hands for close changing)? Or there were enlarged sets also? For example like dollshe offers- additional heads, additional hands (not separate hands set but together with a doll) etc?

 

I know only about a basic set. An extra head or hands one could order separately. However, I can only tell for the latest pre-order - I wasn't really around back then when he was initially released.

Some time ago I used to think that $1000 was a good price, $1200 was acceptable and anything above needed to have some good extras to be worth the price. But, after the doll being announced as discontinued, it is possible the prices would get higher.

 

I’m afraid of it but hope it’s not forever. I hope higher prices will cause demand decrease and then the prices will go down

Last Venitu release was 820$ for a blank doll in Oriental (normal) resin, but plus shipping and customs I was at 1100$ in the end. I don't think their prices will ever go down - they're hard to get, but people are willing to pay a lot of money to get one, especially because they won't be produced anymore. I've seen Venitus who've been sold for 1900$ without any extras like other pairs of hands, so... 1500$ isn't too bad.

1500 is a common price range I have been seeing for a bit now, even before Mr. Cho's annoumcement. It's possible it might dip again after a while...but it seems like it's been going up over the years. Like meanae said, 1000 used to be more common, then 1200. I don't know if it will go down again. Sometimes I've seen a really good deal pop up around original price! Please just be careful and check for authenticity. I hope you can find your Venitu!

 

I paid 1200 euro before he was home (new from Dollshe). That is price for the doll, extra hands, shipping and customs (I live in the EU) - what was around 1500 dollars at the time. So for me $ 1500 dollar would only pay what I paid, no profit made. Sound like reasonable price if it includes the doll, dollshe box and COA. (And no, mine is not going anywhere )

The price of the boys also depended a lot on the resin colour.
I paid $1082 back in 2015 for a Venitu in honey caramel brown and in 2016 I bought a Goohwa in pure avatar blue for $944. Both dolls came with two pairs of hands as default. Prices are not including shipping or custom fees (which is about 1/3 of the price on top), and both dolls were ordered directly.

@Snigirka girka On Dollshe boxes: Venitu can have a number of different kind of boxes - or even a Fifth Motiv bag! So anything Dollhe used is likely the one he came in. I got mine in the same kind of box as my Dollshe Phillip Grant, but without a picture on the outside. I think the foam inside was differently cut though. What I do not know if it was cut out for Venitu specifically or simply for another doll that the M28

Price also depends on the resin colour and if he has the extra sets of hands (they come in their own box and are something like $400 on their own depending on colour). A full-set would be the full doll (head and body) plus the additional five pairs of gesture hands (four new, one older).

 

@Quiet and Insane that’s could be great to buy the doll and all his hands for 1500. But I understand this price is only for doll with one pair of hands and one had.

I just bought a secondhand 2019 Goohwa. Apparently, they were still for sale in Asia until Feb. 2019! He is landing in NYC in an hour. I paid more for him than I care to think about, but I am so glad that I will have him. Definitely a grail doll I never thought I would own. I will be doing his face up. I am so excited!

I have lots of 8-9" heads coming but unfortunately none will fit on his neck. The good thing is my Arsene's clothes may all fit and I have a lot of 8-9" wigs. I plan on getting eyes that are 14/5 mm.

Any resources or advice for a 5th Motif newbie would be appreciated!

 

Congratulations, @Mahgiep ! I'm joining you on being a 5th Motif newbie! I managed to snag a Venitu off the secondhand market in China and he's on his way to me now. I'm so excited

@Quiet and Insane I got him in 5 days including a Sunday!
I got 2 Pygmalion heads on Saturday and did a face up Saturday and the other on Sunday. So I was limber for a third face up when Goodhwa came Monday instead of Tuesday. I'm in face up withdrawal today. But I have 5 boy/2 girl face ups to do on orders in progress! I'm not sure how I got into this mess of heads but I love them all.

 

I've been ages since I've shared a photo, but I finally have a new one I'm happy with. Kain is trying hard at his modeling job, the holiday season always keeps him busy.

His inspiration has this name. JI SOO MAGAZINE | K-Drama Amino
It means wisdom and long life.

We'd really like to share them with all of you, if there's interest for them? We haven't worked out how to do this yet, but I wanted to see if anyone would want one or more of these prints before we got to planning on how to give them out. They'd be free of course, we'll probably need to ask for postage but otherwise, we want as many lovers of Venitu and Goohwa to have them as possible. We're just not sure if these are something that people would be interested in.
