5StarDoll Tinies Discussion Part 4

I have been hunting baby winchesters and while none of 5 Stars fit the bill...yet...I have found a few others that might.
I think this sculpt would be good for Cas - Joo Head
I think this one might work for Sam - Welcome to impldoll The chin/face shape works.
And for Dean - BJD MYOU DOLL or maybe 1/6 Leprechaun_Dwarf(26cm)_Doll_NORSE MYTH_Islanddoll

Not that I can currently afford any of them. I think with the right accessories they would make cute baby Winchesters. And perhaps Bat Boy as Crowley?

 

Guys I have a quick question about Aiden... are there magnets right under the horn bumps, or could those be sanded off relatively easily?

 

I have Aidan, release 2011. In his head, under the base of the horns, there are magnets that are very deep in the base. If you cut the base of the horn, then there may be a hole.

I did not correct my Aidan, his "horn base" is covered with hair of a wig. It suits me perfectly (I even like that sometimes it becomes obvious in the photo that he is an unusual child).

If 5stardoll no longer offers human hands with the tong tong, angel of Dream is a really good resin match

 

And I'm back! By some crazy miracle I ended up finding a red Aiden at a meet last week. So, despite my terrible luck with this guy, I have him anyway. Again. This time I'll hang on to him!

I used to have a red Aiden, back in the day when they were first released. I was going to do a Chibi Hellboy, but since I didn't really work with characters that weren't mine then, I never did anything to him and eventually sold him. I kind of regretted it, and always wanted another, non-red Aiden but never got around to getting one. Fast forward years and I do have a lot of character dolls so I wanted to try again, but stuff kept getting in the way of me buying one, and even though I kept checking on his availability on 5Star, the day I went to go buy, they were sold out again (I literally think they stopped selling him the day before).

I kept meaning to put up a WTB but I'm not able to be on DOA much so either I"d forget or not have time....I had just told my friends I was looking for one, was at the meet, turned and there he was. lol I got lucky with a lot of stuff I was actively looking for at that meet.

I'm so excited! My little 5 star yo group is getting a fourth! I have a tan Aiden named Achile, a ns yellow Tong Tong named Schrodinger, and a ns pink Ria named Baozhai. The new lil is a ns Jay I'm naming Cionaodh which is Irish gaelic for born of fire.

 

Congratulations ahalfling - can't wait to see them all together. I love what you have done with Achile, Schrodinger and Baozhai.

 

He's going to have red hair, brown eyes, freckles, glasses. Still deciding a clothing style

 

When you described him like that I almost instantly pictured some kind of a nerd in my mind with sweaters and shirts, maybe some nerdy t-shirts, but that's just a loose idea. That's great you're getting your fourth 5sd doll! Hope it arrives as soon as possible!

To be honest I don't remember where I got it. All I remember is as soon as I saw it I checked the price and hit buy lol.

 

I noticed that. I had both Aiden-5 and Yami on my wish list, but now it doesn't look like that will happen. I agree that it would be so much nicer if they gave you a heads-up. They discontinued Mia and Rex before I had a chance to get them, and I also would have liked a Tong-Tong in tan...

At least I did get Jadite, Quintus and Jesse this year. And one could argue that 9 is enough. (But if anyone does argue that, I think I'd have to disagree! LOL!!!)

I can no longer keep track of the bodies that 5SD puts out. It's confusing, as they really don't have any kind of consistent naming or numbering of the various types of bodies. I think my crew is on at least 3 different generations of bodies. (And the best posers are unfortunately the three oldest...)

Tony is really cute. He reminds me of Rex. But before I become too tempted by another 5SD event, I think I need to remind myself that I still have work to do!!!

 

Oh the new tiny is cute! The new body looks pretty too but are they sure about not making a torso joint...? Well it's not like there's much use of my Amy's torso joint but still.
Anyway, it's really sad that they're discontinuing so many of their dolls. How can they discontinue this adorable little face?

I have 9 of their YoSDs. I took advantage of a few events... Well, that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it... LOL!!

Here's the other half of my gang - sorry for the bad picture.

 

Rex is so cute...if I ever found on on the mp I'd probably buy it lol.

 

I remember when they started out they had so many cute dolls and really nice shoes and clothes for them, too. My first three were Aiden, Batboy and Ria. (Ria was a free head, I decided to make him a girl and got a girl body in that same order.) The demon twins came as free heads with my next order, and bumped down the others on my wish list because they needed bodies first. And then suddenly Rex and Mia (and a bunch of others) were gone, without warning. And the same thing happened this year. I wanted TongTong, Yami and maybe Aiden-5, but they were gone from one week to the next...
If I'd had a heads-up from them about their retirement, I probably would have ordered all three.

I personally also think that 5SD shouldn't have stopped offering the free heads with the events. The five free heads I got in the various events all needed bodies, and with the bodies then came more free heads, and all in all I ended up with one SD and four or five tinies more than I probably would have ordered otherwise.
Miss S doesn't inspire me to order anything from them this event.
