Dollshe Haute Hound and regular Hound differences?

^-^ Haute hounds are stunning. I have one ~
They were 30 released for Haute Doll magasine ~ He has a special faceup, the old version 1 body, and a special outfil all hand made personally by Anu of Tensiya.
I think you can still get one of the ones left over from Tensiya.com but I'm not wholly certain of that.

Erm.. basically the newer body has some of the flaws taken out. The waist joints lock better. Also the newer body is more 'buff' XD.. his chest is that bit wider and his ribs curve out to his armpits as opposed to looking super skinny, like my Kai does.

You are incredibly lucky if you've fallen for the LE Haute Hound and happen to have the money handy because www.tenisya.com have less than ten of these amazing Hounds left. The Haute Hound has the most amazing face-up and in addition to the exquisite handmade costuming, he has a fantastic wig - his whole look is just GORGEOUS!

He is more expensive than buying the doll alone, but if that's the face-up you love, you should consider it.

oh man T___T THANK YOU!! do you mind if i ask where did you see berlin/viridian?? i stopped posting their pics here 2 months ago...

i don't know if anyone else agrees with me but!! me, my sister and anyone else who have seen berlin/viri in comparison to the regular hounds all said that the h.hound face mold IS significantly different.

i noted:
- h.hound has rounder bigger eyes and the ends slant downward where the regular hounds angle upward (making them look catlike)
- h.hound jaws are not so squarish
- h.hound eyelids are deeper and bigger fold (making them look more caucassian)
- h.hound face has more rounded features (round jaw, round cheeklines, round profile)

well if you are getting them congratulations! there are many owners of h.hound here on the forum if you want to have more look butterfly, zagzagael, cynthia flinthills (?), carmen171... i can't remember who else T___T and they are all very very lovely!

 

I think Helene summed up the head sculpt differences. I'm surprised no one mentioned them before. Those are the most obvious differences to me anyway, and a big reason why I love him so much. x__x Waah, fellow Haute Hound luster-afterer~ *shakes hand*

 

^-^ I think Hounds look fine with chiwoos ~ though the CP boys do look very styalised next to Hounds less exagerated features (bar that big pretty Escaflowne nose XD)

Ooops - Helene, I don't own a Haute Hound - but I would LOVE to...just have to portion out the dollie funds in such a way that I can't justify that boy. I'm waiting for the Open-eyed Bermann...but I do agree with your incredible critique and find myself doing a double-take everytime I see a HauteHound because he does look so much like the Bermann!

Well worth the extra cash if Hound is to your taste!

I'm not sure if this has been requested yet, but I'll take a stab at it ^^;. I've been pondering the thought of getting a hound, but the pictures on luts and other sites selling Dollshe differ from the images Tensiya has up. And i was wondering if i could get some feedback on Hounds bought from Tensiya (and possibly other companies) compared to Haute Hound. I know there are significant differences, but i just can't afford a HHound.
if it's possible, I'd like a front on, 3/4, and profile view....or any really. ^_^;; thank you so much, this'll help me greatly!

 

Haute Hound is a V1 Hound like my Armand. There are fewer V1's around than there are V2's, and they do look slightly different. Chest is narrower, eyes are more oriental. hands are double jointed.

on the left is version 2 body, on the right is version 1 body which is on the haute hound...


version 1 chest is not as buffed as version 2, stomach muscles are also less defined




version 2 on the left has a sharper belly groove(?) whereas the groove is rounder in version 1 so version 2 has less tendency to pop its stomach.


version 1 hand is made of 2 pieces hence you see the line going across the wrist, it doesn't do jack shit for a difference though. functionwise it's the same as version 2.


version 2 bodies have this hole, version 1 do not.


ok from the back, so version 2 is now on the right of the pic and version 1 is on the left...version 2 has sharper mid section joint so he hunches down more or can hunch down further than version 1.


head comparison...imho version 1 head which is attached to the body is rounder in the shape and less angular than version 2.


see the jaw line difference? version 1 is not so square jawed as version 2.


i also notice that version 1 eyes tend to slant downward slightly at the edges while version 2 eyes tend to have a straight line or catlike...

 

Early version 2 Hounds do not have the extra large shoulder groove or the one-piece hands. I got Xiyang Jin from the first Tensiya order, and his arms are more similar to the Haute Hound than Helene's ver. 2 in the pictures.

Here's Xiyang Jin:

Shoulder groove not *near* as large, his right one is showing as much as it is because I had his elbow positioned behind his back. Also two-piece hands, yet he has the more 'buff' chest and the newer-style back joint.

 

Yes! I want to see more of these beautiful dolls, I also know of only 2 people that own him, I would like to know more owners of this beautiful underrated doll, I never see too many in the galleries ((Other than Helene's beautiful Berlin and Viridian )) I'll staart with my Bjorn, I just LOVE him he is so beautiful!

Here is my Haute Hound - Dante the Mage!! I adore him, a truly amazing doll.

 

What makes Haute Hound different than a regular one? And where can I get one of these gourgeous boys? I've been pondering a Hound for a looong time, and I wasn't sure what made a Haute Hound.. a Haute hound! xD;

 

It seems like Haute Hound was just a limited type doll, that's what made him unique. It's just like a Delf-art or something like that. He was limited to 30 worldwide and he had a unique make up and outfit it looks like. I saw him on http://www.tensiya.com/ and they stated that it was for Haute doll magazine and they only had 10 available through their site. I think the only way to get this beauty now is through the secondary market. ^_~

 

Haute Hound was a limited release of 30 pieces with a special outfit by Anu of Tensiya. He had his own unique faceup, and his skin color is a little different from normal Hounds, it's a bit rosier. I love it ^^

Unfortunately they've been sold out for a while now, but you can post a WTB in the marketplace and maybe you'll get lucky

Is there any place to check out the body differences? I'm trying to figure out when the extra wrist piece came into use. (Also saw a body that had been ordered separately by someone awhile back, that is much pinker than their usual normal color.)
