Delilah Noir is a 1/4 scale off topic doll, but her clothes fit MSD slim dolls. There was a pattern contest for her and the top 5 patterns were available for free download The contest is over, but one of our lovely members, harpers-child, archived the patterns here: http://www.mediafire.com/?r7inox35bzc0576 The world is uncertain. My advice is to download them now. Susan http://www.flickr.com/photos/7845173@N05/
Thanks for those! It's always good to find alternate sources for patterns for slim minis, given I own some of the slimmest of the slim! And SEVERAL of those patterns are either to die for, or simply wonderful, and things several of my resins would wear! Wonderful find!
Lovely link, thank you so much! I kind of wish they'd shared all the entries, rather than just the winners. XD Ah well, though. I'm going to try some of these out for my AoD slim mini girl, and see how much taking in they'll need. ^______^
Thanks for the link the kimono dress is too cute ! I have a very small girl, Sharmin I hope I can adapt the pattern to fit her. Where can I find measurements for this OT doll ?
Some of her stats are available at delilahnoir.blogspot.com. Scroll down, they are on the right hand side.
Thanks ! Ill try out the pattern and will post here, can take a while because I have too many dresses to sew atm !
Thanks for sharing these! I'm going to print these out now and customize them!! Maybe my husband's boy will have a present by the time they get home from the salon
Oooo, thanks for the link! I keep seeing pattern "kits" of clothes for that doll on spoonflower, been wondering if it would be worth buying one. Now I can check to make sure patterns for this doll will fit my Lily, woot!
Thanks so much for sharing! I downloaded them all. I just got an MSD size doll and she still doesn't have anything to wear.
I have yet to successfully make an outfit for my girls but am always on the lookout for patterns. Thanks so much for sharing!
I belong to that group and I will tell you they are the nicest bunck you could know. They also have all kinds of tutorials and a few more really simple FREE patterns. Thanks for sharing!
I decided to go ahead and give one of these patterns a try. Third one down on the page, called "Summer Time". My model is a Resinsoul Mei. I made it first in white and black broadcloth to make sure of the fit (and to test my own skills because I haven't used a sewing machine in 15 years, YIKES) Once I was fairly sure of what I was doing, I went ahead and make the petticoat, first. The top is black broadcloth and the bottom portion is a poly-cotton blend in dark brown. Then on to the main dress, which I make out of a medium green dupioni silk. This is a test fit before I had the top of the dress finished: Finished up the top, but the bottom isn't done yet, and I haven't touched the back closures, but I totally ran out of energy: As you can see, this dress works nicely with or without the underskirt, giving it good versatility. You might even be able to use the petticoat separately, too, depending on your style preferences and a top. The pattern itself isn't precisely user-friendly for us Not-Quite-Newbies, but once I got it figured out it all went together pretty nicely. ^_^
Agreed! I might take a shot at that particular design too if I can find fabric I like. Thanks for sharing.
These are SO CUTE! ^_^ I'm going to give the first or third one a try sometime this week. I'll post photos if anyone wants. But unfortunately I don't have my girl yet so I can't really test sizing yet. XD
Thanks to the person who necro'd this thread! I downloaded the patterns and going to modify one to fit a theme I'm going for.
Has anyone tried the first pattern? (Cha-Cha-Chow Mein) I am trying to make this for an SD, then I realized that the pattern does not have the skirt part to the pattern. It only has the bodice, sleeves, obi and take out purse. I downloaded it twice, in case I some how did something wrong, but that's all I see. How should I go about making the bottom part of the Kimono dress? Do you think a Rectangle skirt pattern (gathered) would work? Or should I try a circle pattern? Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated.
Looking at the pictures, I would go with a gathered rectangle, almost 3 times longer than the bottom edge of the top. The back is pretty tightly gathered, but it looks like the front overlap isn't gathered - it lies smooth. Susan
Tekenduis, I'm glad to see you had good results! Thank you very much for the pattern, Delbelcoure! I can't wait to try this~!!
Next to the pattern for the box bag, (and above obi pattern) there is a note about the skirt which is: For the skirt cut 3 1/2" x 24" rectangle
Does anyone know if these fit the Dollzone MSD without any/much adjustments? My friend has one but I can't get my hands on it very often for fittings.
I made this dress using the Cha-Cha-Chow Mein pattern, and it is modeled on a mature Bobobie body. It looks a bit different because I did not add a decorative trim, and I used a shorter length of fabric for the skirt because I wanted to use up the fabric remnant but it still has a good shape. I think it would've been easier for me to sew if there were some instructions. I'm going make a longer obi so that I can close it with snaps and turn this one pictured into a head piece. It's not complete but I just wanted to show the size. This kind of outfit was what I was after and it's great I don't have to adjust it to fit. Thanks for sharing
Wow, thanks! I have a DN doll and was wondering if one of her outfits would fit the doll I want to get. Thank you for the tip!
Oh, lil_utena that is gorgeous! I rally love the fabric and binding color! Can't wait to get cracking on these patterns...
Thank you Veracosa and delbelcoure. I was glade to find out that you don't need to alter this pattern at all. I was afraid it was going to be too big ^^;;
I made the Kimono bodice/top yesterday using an Asian brocade: that kind of fabric is EVIL and wants to fray everywhere! Next time I am using a fusible interfacing!!! Anyway, I made the top straight from the pattern with no adjustments, and I now know that in the future I will have to add for my doll's big boobs (Angel of Dream are pretty "mature" in that area). I will absolutely be sewing this one again, making a full-length kimono. I just have to find some small-print fabrics that I like! This pattern did not come with written instructions, but you can figure out how to put it together without too much trouble. She looks so sassy! I like the brocade top and denim style skirt together. I didn't even think of mixing up the components of the pattern. Susan
Got around to the "summer dress" today! Went gothy with a black and grey patterned fabric. When I printed the pattern, it came out a little smaller than actual size, and my dolls boobs were kind of a challenge so I added an additional panel in the back. Overall the pattern is easy to use, and I will definitely be using it again. I slapped together a corset out of stretch vinyl and some eyelets, and found that it went with the outfit nicely. Now I just need to get some black fishnet stockings and her black boots will arrive in the mail soon! lil_utena waaai!!! i love the kimono and the excellent choice of fabric. i have a kid delf and i will really really try that pattern on her!
There's some really gorgeous work in this thread, and I was happy to see the thread brought back to life, but similarly disappointed that the patterns page is no longer available. Is there any chance someone might share these if they still have them hiding on a hard drive? Or is that not an okay request? (Apologies if it's not okay.)
i happened to have all 5 patterns. only four of them have pictures. you can find them at http://www.mediafire.com/?r7inox35bzc0576 please post pictures of what you've sewed. i've really enjoyed seeing what people have done!
