4th Annual PNW BJD EXPO, Friday & Saturday May 8-9, 2015

Aug 21, 2014

    1. Aw missed the online registration. Sadly grandma won't be coming (apparently she is on a cruise! Adventurous thing) so its just Hornisse and me. He's bringing his own dolls this time instead of carrying mine around.

    2. Looks like a few are in need of sharing a hotel room. If anyone is open to the idea, let others know by posting here. Thanks.

    3. Looking to share a hotel room! Husband and wife here. I'm vending amd would like to stay the night at the hotel but we can't afford a room by ourselves, I know it's shirt notice but I've been so busy and sick that I'm just looking into it. Thanks!

    4. Does anyone have an Eve Studio Sphinx or Oriental cat they would be willing to bring? I'm really eager to see one in person.

    5. Thank you for answering my previous question, but now I have another one. It appears you can still purchase tickets online. Is online registration still open but not counting as pre registration or do they just never take the option down?

    6. It was a glitch in the system that has since been fixed. Online registration has ended, but if you were able to take advantage of the glitch and received a confirmation, then you're pre-registered. If you missed out on online registration we will be taking credit and debit cards or cash (exact change only) Friday afternoon at the Hampton inn and Saturday at the Conference Center. We even have a special little commemorative item for the first 40 that register on site.

    7. Just woke up after enjoying an amazing day of panels, classes, contests, shopping(!), raffles, and meeting and chatting with other hobbyists both known and new to me. Happy to have so many knew faces to out to names, and thrilled to have met a number of wonderful, skilled doll artists in person. Since it was Mother's Day weekend, I brought my non-collector mom as a vacation treat, and she's bringing home her first doll, an adorable Dollmore Banji that reminds her of a doll she had when she was a little girl. We're taking an extra day here in town to see the sights, and absolutely looking forward to next year's event! Very excited to come again!

    8. We got home last night and went straight to bed. Today we'll unpack the goodies from the car and enjoy trying on the new things. Thanks to all the organizers, sponsors, and vendors!

    9. It was an awesome convention, I was so happy to see so many familiar faces, and then to have some amazing doll encounters! :D I am mildly stunned to think that I avoided some major temptations, and so did my sister, but we made some lovely purchases. I'm the one who won the outfit and went "Oh" like an idiot, if anyone's wondering. Everyone was amazing, I think this had to be a very full con this year, and I can't wait to see what a full weekend will be like next year! :D

Time to go look at my own goodie bags! :D

      .hlp

    10. Loved this convention, and loved the chance to see so many awesome dolls in person (and finally get a Dollmore!).

Also I forgot to get DoA names off of people I talked to! If you chatted with a tall brunette and a long haired beardy guy carrying an assortment of pink and blonde haired dollies, that was probably us :sweat

    11. Thank you for Expo! Thank you to everyone who has signed up for my kimono panels. Thank you for understanding my English! Thanks to all customers who have found the kind words about my work. Everything was well organized. It was cozy and nice.
Special thanks for the help for raffles… to Kiyakotari

I do not promise to come next year … so far. But I'll think about….. if I come I'll bring a lot of beautiful clothes for MSD

    12. Has anyone posted pics from this event yet? I forgot my camera, so I didn't get any pics at all. I had a wonderful time at the event, it was wonderful seeing everyone's beautiful dolls and all the fantastic vendors!

ggdoll, I emailed you pics of my Dollfie Dream Dynamite girl wearing your outfit we won in the raffle! Thank you for attending, and for holding your raffle!

    13. I still haven't gotten my pics off the camera, but once I do they'll be on tumblr.

    14. My sister and I got back, to Omaha, Ne., late last night, and boy did I sleep like a bear.;)
I want to thank Marie, Jennifer and all those that worked so hard at putting together a top notch doll show!
      Everything was perfect.
I had a super time meeting so many new collectors and vendors. Talking to the collectors made the experience very special. I love to hear what everyone is doing and I love looking at the dolls they bring with them.
Hats off to the PNW BJD Expo:dance

    15. And thank you to Lisa for the panel and awesome raffle. Hanna is in love with her new girl!

    16. I had to speed-run the expo this year but at least I made it! My camera is crummy for indoor shooting but a few pics came out decent, you can see shots from the expo (lots of the costume competition, I loved them all!) over at my blog-

Pretty sure I got one of your gal galatia9, and some from the ggdoll booth :)
Big props to the organizers and exhibitors, it's a fun con and I'm glad to have it so close to home. It's extra special to meet folks from overseas and see all the lovely dolls and accessories they've made in person. Next year I will try to be a bit less shy and introduce myself to folks - if you saw me, I was wearing a super floofy blue skirt with stars and moon theme.

    17. Thanks, jadepixel! I'm glad you were able to come out. Charlotte's new eyes ARE perfect!

    18. I'm so happy everyone had such a good time. It was really wonderful seeing everyone's contest entries and being able to catch up with some of you. I tried to get lots of pictures, but haven't gotten them off the camera yet. Will be sure to post them once I do. Thank you to all the vendors and sponsors for helping the expo be such a success! Looking forward to next year's theme for the contests A BJD Comicon. Many activities are already being planned for the full weekend. The dates are May 20-22, 2016. It will be at our new location, Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort, 15347 Suquamish Way NE, Suquamish, WA 98392. You can make room reservations by calling 1-800-375-6073. Mention you're booking for the PNW BJD Expo, and you'll get the discounted rate. The website will be updated soon, complete with the new mascot contest information. Feel free to PM me if you have a class idea or are interested in volunteering.

    19. Next year will be epic! I already have a plan for the costume contest and it will probably take me the entire year to make it.

    20. I'm so sad to have missed it- I was really looking forward to seeing the various customs, and REALLY wanted to try wigs on two of my dolls that just don't have the right thing yet- and also look for some cute outfits. Saaaad.

My parents arrived in town with fairly little notice, they visit 1x a year (if that) and it was Mother's day weekend, but still I was making some kind of plan for them to visit the air museum over there while I ducked into the convention for an hour- and then I got a horrible cold. Seriously bad timing. Sounds like it was pretty fun, I sure hope I can go next year.

    21. This was my first year at this Expo and I had SO much fun !!
So much to see and do and everyone was super friendly.
I didn't bring a doll but next year I certainly will lol :)
