I just discoverd the Little Elvas today and am totally smitten I mean, how gorgeous are they?! And the price?! I was thinking about getting a Minifee but I may end up getting one of these beauties instead. The hard part is going to be deciding between the two--they're both so different and each so lovely in their own way ♥ I'm not very familiar with Ddoll but am relieved to hear that there are people on this board who have dolls from them and are happy with the quality

I do hope someone would be kind enough to help me; I'm terrible at comparing measurements between dolls. Does anyone have any idea whether these girls are closer to a "standard" MSD (like Luts Kid Delf) or a "slim" MSD (like FL Minifee)?

Lindsey, I made a quick comparison days ago between Little Elva's measurements and Narae's ones, because I wanted her to be slim like my Elfdoll Yumi and my eventual Minifee, somehow, cause they should be photographed together.. so, she's pretty similar to a Narae in size.

I think she has good mobility and her resin is pretty good. I heard Dreaming doll use slow yellowing resin.

TTYA could you give us info about mobility? i was hoping DreamingDoll sent some dolls before the event ended but it seems it won't be the case, i really love these girls but i kinda need more info haha, i don't wanna lose the event tho! so pleaaaase, could you? does she have seams?

 

Great to see Ddoll are finally getting more popular, they have beautiful sculpts and deserve to be recognized. Like I said in an earlier post, I'm VERY satisfied with my Ddoll Sally. She came back from her face-up spa yesterday - you can see photos of her in the Elva thread:

The resin is very smooth and sturdy, even around the eyes. She doesn't have any awfully prominent seams and the skintone is very natural (I noticed this yesterday when taking a family photo - Ddoll NS is neither too yellow-ish nor overly pink-ish!).

I'm still getting used to posing an SD-sized girl but I'd say that her jointing is very nice and elegant. And since the Little Elva body seems to be very similar to the Elva one, I wouldn't expect Airi or Misaro to be bad at posing. They are not Minifees, but I am certain there are worse bodies out there (e.g. Leeke).

She has great mobility !! her body is entirely slimmer than other MSD.

I think Airi has very small eyes. So it's hard to see her eye color,if the color is too deep.
For this photo, I adjusted a bit color in photoshop.

CONGRATS EVERYONE! ^o^ I'm so glad you all got your girls fine and dandy. They're all SO LOVELY OHMIGOSH.

Now that my squee is out, I have a question to all you Airi owners. What size eyes are your girls wearing? Do any of you have pictures of your girls in 12mm eyes(since I know the freebie eyes should be 14mm)? Would 12mm fit at all?

 

I think 12mm would be much better than 14mm. All my MSDs wear 12mm eyes... and with the size of her eyes, it's a better fit. 14mm.. kind of makes her eyes look all iris.

 

Anyone see the new doll Dreaming Doll just came out with? She's cute.

I want to share some photos of my Airi. I adore her she is my first BJD doll

 

I am working on making Viv a new outfit. So far I've only done a quick mock-up of the shirt, but the pictures decent enough.. Like where I'm going with it? I don't quite know yet. I know if I make a real one.. the frillies coming off of the bottom need to have a more drastic slope. I want it short in the front to show off her belly.. so that's about right, but I want it longer in the sides and back.

I actually did have the same problem when I ordered a few months ago. It was only delayed by days in the end, but they had told me it would be delayed for weeks.

 

My Airi got a new sweater sewed by me and now she is ready for Christmas!

Ms. Viv's new wig and clothing hasn't come in yet, but it really should be any day on the wig and.. well, who knows on the clothing. The Canadian post is something else more than half the time.
I ended up getting her the Nine9 Style Mink ball knitwear and one piece slip set... the brown one from last year.. seeing as their new ones are pink and green. Fingers crossed it will be cute on her.
I'm still kind of on the lookout for cute clothing.. it's just a matter of finding the right things.

In the meantime I was goofing around and ended up putting her in a new wig that just came in that's for my doll whom is out for a face-up. It's definitely not meant for her, but I'll admit.. she still looks pretty cute.

 

Hi guys, this was in my box opening but I just thought I should post it here to give you a quick comparison of the eyes as some of you might be wondering about it.

I feel like the 14mm glass eyes included are way too big for her so I made a comparison between the 10, 12 and 14mm. The first one has Airi's L 10mm and R 12mm Oval Shape Acrylics. The second one shows L 10mm oval and 14mm glass round. Last photo shows L 14mm glass and 12mm oval. In my opinion both 10mm and 12mm look much better on her but I prefer to use the 10mm instead but that's just me. It's really a small difference between 10 and 12 so you really can't go wrong. I also opted for the oval eyes to cover the length of her eyes so there's no gap. I think Eyeco eyes would work as well because they have larger white part than most doll eyes out there.

 

Yes, it's defiantly NS. It photographs the same as mine.. Funny enough.. she's my darkest NS out of my four NSs. I suppose the other companies I have NS dolls from's WS is also paper white though. And if you click the edit button in the bottom left end of your post you can edit so you don't have to double post. I don't want your posts getting deleted on you for posting too many in a row.



And as for me, Viv just got her new wig in!

Oh, not this one. I have made boned doll corsets in the past, but this was one I got from ATsuri on here for my PD Tara. Planetdolls are kind of a hard size to sew for and she has one too so I don't have to worry about the fitting.

It was just huge on Viv here. I had to lateral lace it for it to fit even somewhat properly. If I were to actually give it to her, something I wouldn't do to my PD that the outfit belongs to, I would have to put some serious darts in it to take out the bagginess in the sides under the boobs!

Oh, thank you! I think it might be a little too glam for her personality to go around wearing corsets all the time, but special occasions are alright.
I am, however, half tempted to get her a corset of her own.. even if she'd like 'real' clothing, just because she looks so darn good in them!

I'm glad you were able to pick out a name for your girl. Thea is a lovely name. I'm lucky that all my dolls are based on preexisting characters of mine so I don't have to worry about knowing what they look like or what clothing or hair to get because I already know who they are when I pick out the doll. It ust be tough to not know!

And thank you. The blue wig does belong to another girl, but I agree it looks cute! If she was the type to dye her hair crazy colours.. I'd have to get her one in that style.

This curly wig isn't so bad since it's synthetic mohair. I have one girl that has a synthetic with curls. The curls look good as when I got the wig now two years later! The just hold up better for me for some reason, I don't know!

Hi Everyone, happy new year! I received the pants that Ddoll wasn't able to include in my package so Hyuna wants to say hi and reintroduce herself now that she has pants on LOL. I got her darker eyes and wig but in the meantime, I'll enjoy this look.

Anyways, I am planning on getting a Misora head but would like to use a different body on her. For those who have several bjds, can you please tell me which ones matches her color, either normal or white. I would like to lean towards an inexpensive body as well, so if you know any that would match...please tell. Thanks in advance =)

 

I don't think any of mine are close to matching DDoll.... but I can say that I cannot imagine any WS bodies matching unless it's something screwy. I've a friend that has nearly exclusively WS dolls and I know none of the 20 of them are close either. Like I said. I've four NS, two WS, and two TS right now... so I can at least look. Heck, I can take pictures...

That's amazing to know that even the white resins are all different, I was thinking white is white right? LOL I'm not totally inlove with Ddoll's body esp. the hands and feet so I'm really looking for an alternative. Btw, Viv looks glam as always. I still can't get over the corset picture of her. I wanted one for Hyuna too.

 

I will try to get a comparison picture of them tomorrow, deliziahck8. My schedule is beyond packed right now so finding the time is a bit tricky. And yes, white is usually pretty white. My two WS dolls are paper white practically, but some have a yellow undertone.... and we can't forget Luts's beauty green! They had a problem a while back of their WS's yellowing a light green. It's kind of funny.
NS is usually the ones with a bit more pigment, but they still can be quite pale.

I actually love the DDoll body. They have some of the nicest ones around for MSDs, I'd say, not to mention how well they pose. I'm rather in love. Yes, the hands aren't perfect, but I can deal with it... because I won't hybrid tiny pieces and the body is so darn nice. It poses really well and is just pretty. I wish I could do the body's capabilities justice, but I'm so uncreative!


EDIT: Also, did anyone see Hiro? I'm so happy there's a boy! I hope for more!

For skin color, I have ever compared with Volks(NS), Peakswoods (NS 2011) and Minoruworld (Mistyrose 2011).
Volks(Old resin) has a bit yellow than DDoll, Peakswoods and Minoruworld are little pinker than DDoll.
My friend told me DDoll resin maybe match with new volks resin : ).

deliziahck8, Upon looking, I can say that Withdoll is the closest of mine, but it's going to be too pink. Iplehouse might be an alright match, but it will be too pale and too yellow.

Here's a comparison. I know it's a little blurry.. thus the reason behind me explaining what would be the best match. I put the tan and white resin comparisons there too, just to show you that they're terrible matches, but hey, if you ever want a WS Planetdoll and Resinsoul hybrid.. they're a good match!

Sinsin, thank you and I'm so raving about the jeans...it is so highly detailed and fits her perfectly. I can't just say enough good stuff about it. I'd really love to get Misora but it won't be easy getting her resin matched. I'm also torn whether or not I should get her default face up or not because it seems like it is the same as Airi's. I am not confident enough to send her to a face up artist so I have mixed feelings. I always love Leekeworld Mabel and it's hard to decide between the two.

Mirrin, thank you so much for taking the time. It really helps me a lot. I saw another owner in flicker actually using minifees body which I thought wouldn't work because I saw a side by side body comparison before and the color is way off but I guess with the right light it blended well. I have a Lati blue coming home soon and I'll take a photo and post it here as well as additional comparison and maybe it might help another person considering making a hybrid. Thanks for all the help.

I'm seriously starting to reconsider DreamingDoll over Fairyland as my first msd... Misora is just as cute and within budget! XD

 

Renearla, I really don't think you can go wrong with Misora. I have Misora as well as a Minifee. I love both, but I really think Misora would make an excellent first MSD. She has just the most lovely body and her pose-ability is still over average. Plus, you have Dreaming Doll's excellent quality and customer service to count on. They have been friendly and communicating with any issues.

 

They're absolutely a good first time company, Renearla. It's always good to have a company with short wait times and excellent customer service! It makes getting into the hobby a good experience.
The dolls are really nice quality, pose well and are well sculpted. I can't recommend them enough.

deliziahck8 , Wish you can find more choices of your Misora's body soon!
I think if Misora default face-up is not your wish, face up artist is a good choice for you more.
Try on and look for face-up Artist whose style is similar to your Misora in you mind,
who you think he/she can do. I'm confident that it's not too hard to find! Just try it!

About Leekeworld Mabel, she is a lovely mold. I have ever seen from my friend's
but I doesn't recommend her body (I used to see only old body and I didn't follow Leekeworld,
so I doesn't know if they change their body).Because if compare Leeke with Ddoll body,
you maybe disappointed and want to change her body....

As for the ddoll body I'm quiet dissatisfied with all these lines of resin joining together, or I just don't know how to call this thing. On arms, legs and torso there are really visible lines. I've spent 4 days fighting with sandpaper and steel wool and there no end.
But... When I look at my Misora magnificent boobs and her cute belly... well... I can sand my doll for a month more

And, seizing the situation, what can I do to improve my doll standing abilities. Making her stand still is hell.

 

Today I'm going to try to convert pattern equations from this new book I had to buy for class into 1/4 scale. Most of them rely on the measurements of what you're making it for than other ones they give are based on standard size 4 women. I need to take all those measurements and make them a fourth of it. I don't think it will be too hard. I don't think I'll get the sewing done, but I can do the patterns I want at least. I like a tent dress in it and a little yolked sleeveless shirt. I think Viv could be cute in them and I'd like to put this book that was required to some good use. She really just needs more clothing!

I showed a friend of mine the girls wearing the wigs and she wants the one with the huge smile. I'd be really curious to see what could be done with her. It looks like a really interesting sculpt, for sure.

A lot of the clothing they're modeled in is from Nine9 Style, not that shirt, I don't think. but the skirt is. The minty green outfit with the fur poof on the other is from Nine9 Style, Viv actually owns the brown version of it! It's way cute on her. The slip it comes with is darling. The dress that Airi is wearing in her promo pictures is from Nine9 Style too. I don't think Nine9 Style has any dealers.

Only Chinese companies sand their seams for free. It's more of a gift that even they do. The vast majority of companies do not. A lot of companies that do offer it charge a ridiculous amount to do it and it just becomes better to do it yourself or.. you can be sneaky like me and just edit them out on the computer.

I'm surprised you're having posing issues, but like Seiorai said sueding and restringing is your best bet. Sometimes dolls are shipped with their strings very loose so they do not chip when they're jostled in shipping.

Renearla, I think you are making the right decision. That's what I feel too, I won't spend too much money on an expensive doll until I get a feel and hang of it.
Seiorai, I've seen a side by side comparison of Airi and Misora and Misora's face up is just a tad darker than Airi and her eyebrows are straighter but other than that it's almost identical so I'm almost decided that if I'm really getting her that I will be sending her to an artist. Thanks for the advice =)
Sinsin, actually, I already found resin matches for Leekeworld body. Since they have been established for a long time, I have seen other owners making her a hybrid. I really like her cute face. Other than that, I like a MNF and Soulkid MSD I told you about in flicker amongst others but the price always turns me off. Thanks for the comment, I am thinking the same with Misora, I definitely will send her to an artist if I do buy her.
Anerianek, yes my Airi has the same thing...it bothered me at first but it's barely noticeable on photographs and I guess I got used to it LOL. I had a hard time making mine stand as well as she came very loosely strung so I just pulled the top elastic and made a knot since I am not completely confident on taking the pieces apart and do the restringing that way. You might wanna try it first. Works great for me =)
Mirrin, I thought the new dolls in barons flicker are SD's. I think I saw some of them in ddollshop. I really like Nine9 too, I hope ddoll will sell them as well and maybe give it as a giveaway next event wishwish! Btw, I have a question. When looking at dolls at the meetings, a lot did have them. Right now I'm in the middle of sanding. Yes, it's really time-consuming, but not difficult at all. When I finish I will boast about it ^^

I've resrtineg her first thing she came to me and that improve her a little bit. She's not headbanging any more but still, she's behaving like her torso is angled too much to the back.
