Oh new thread... and I just got a package from Fairyland in the mail!!! My Ante is home Pictures later. My daughter's awake and loves dolls <.< >.> Which would be great... but she's two. lol

Angel reminds me of the Japanese legend of the Kitsune: A wize, white fox-spirit who sometimes transforms into a woman to seduce men. I know that Fairyland has released a fox face plate for an event, but ironically, the fox ears weren't big enough to carry off the effect.
Even though foxes have a longer snout, I think that Angel looks more like a fox because of her ears [HR][/HR]

My Ante is here! I have nothing for her yet (so didn't expect her any time soon) but she's here none the less.


I ordered the hooves thinking I was going to make her a unicorn but have since changed my mind. They are cute though so I'm not sure if I'll change character ideas or not... but I have a unicorn and deer planned so I wouldn't want to do either of those... I gotta ponder.

 

oh thread 15 I can still remember the first one, then I introduced my pukisha who is a faun now, after that I had some puki's some are gone, but I still have my ruby and madeleine...and soon my chocolily will be home....still all four of them are living in different areas

A new thread already? This is what happens when I turn my back for a few days. I didn't get a chance to comment on all the wonderful pictures at the end of the last thread (jayne hats, bicycles, & kimonos, oh my!), but I do love all the spam at these first few pages bring out.

wilkies - I'm not sure why I find that swan potty so hilarious, but it always makes me giggle. Your Ruby does not look amused, though.

My little Darjeeling is out for delivery according to USPS! I don't have a single thing for her to wear yet and don't want to post her naked so I'll have to try to crochet something before I introduce her

I've been lurking a bit, though, and I must say that everyone's pukis are absolutely darling!
I've gotten back into wanting a sleepy Pukisha someday, not sure when now that DollZone had to go and put out those two new MSDs, but I'm hoping next year. ^_^

Yay another pukisha! May is super cute with her teddy bear! Now Angel wishes she had another pukisha or puki to play with. She didn't know there were so many of her kind out there until I started watching this thread.. I can't afford a friend for her right now. Poor girl :\

 

There's certainly a lot of Darjeeling love in this thread so far! I approve!

I also have a question. How easily should their hands come off? Hinna's right hand comes off really easily, you can barely bump it and it's on the floor. Her left hand is about twice as hard to get off- not super likely to take it off accidentally if I'm paying attention- and her feet stay on very well, I doubt I could accidentally lose them.

 

Hmm idk how to explain "how" easy.. The feet certainly do stay on better because they have that little knob on them that holds them in, but the hands do come off fairly easy. I ALWAYS check to make sure Angel has all her pieces before I'm finished playing with her.

 

My Ante is finally here. Haven't gotten to lurk around to see anyone's pics due to my father passing recently. It's bittersweet having Ante home. My dad was supposed to be the one to sign for her, it gave him something to do. :,( I was going to do her faceup and make clothes but now I am so exhausted/drained I don't have the energy. I don't ever want to sell her but, she's reminding me of him so I can't bring myself to be around her much. Having her be "disabled" like him sounds cute, but it's making me think of how ill he got. I got no words...

I did want to repost what I wrote in the waiting room: Ante has two potmarks - shoulder & leg. Sanding is shoddy but not terrifyingly bad. The BIGGEST issue I have is one of Ante's legs is maybe 2mm or so smaller then the other leg (happened in the thigh piece) and she can't stand. I have to put her in extreme poses or on something metallic. I should be upset... but thinking about making braces for a "disabled" Ante, sounds like the cutest little thing possible. Turning a negative to a positive hopefully. Wish me luck.

 

Wheee! I hadn't mentioned it, but I decided to try some new eyes in Set and ordered them a week or so back. They arrived today, faster then expected! I hope to get them in tonight when I pick something up for eye putty. I've never changed eyes, so this will be a new challenge!

 

well, I'm not sure about now, but may will be 4 years old soon and her hands and feet (and ears, especially) just love to fly off

 

I do find when I put the hands on my Pukis if I turn them around carefully I find a place where they kind of "lock" in and then they don't come off as easily.

I may have a Darjeeling waiting at home for me tonight, if not tonight, then tomorrow. I've had a sudden incoming Puki population explosion it seems. It started off with Pong who I've had for about a month. Now we are waiting for Madeleine Full Set from DDE, a little French Piki to cross the ocean and a Darjeeling from Elfinhugs. How did this happen?

Kambei: I'm so sorry about your loss. It's understandable that it would take you a while to bond with your Ante. Give yourself some time to grieve first and it'll come in time. Hugs. Hmmm, you might want to contact Fairyland about the discrepancy in her leg length. Surely they should be responsible to fix that, especially considering how expensive these dolls are. I hope it all works out for you.

Well the lighting is just terrible, but I got the eyes in and I like them so far. Got to get used to it, and find some time to take better photos! They are supposed to be Blue and Red, though I guess they look more black here, eh?

This is my newest girl, Licorice. I've had her for about a month now. She's cranky about that ~_^



I have a question: Who would you recommend to send a puki face to get a custom faceup? Nothing real complex, but I'm just not satisfied with my own attempts on my pukipuki pongpong. Any suggestions are appreciated ^_^

Shelly I LOVE little Flora's wings! And her eyes are great too. I'm not usually a huge Flora fan, but you just might change my mind!
