Now I am more or less active I figured I should post my doll. My bf and I started making her in 2009. He is a 3D artist so we thought making a 3D BJD was the right approach. We were not sure where we were going but we sure were tring to get there. The process of her creation was the following : -created a 3D model from scratch on zbrush. -had her printed by Shapeways. -realised the 3D print shows layers of print and fails to reproduce small details so had to be worked on (see pics I posted here for more infos http://www.denofangels.com/joints/showthread.php?t=4969&page=3 ) . -the material is kind of impossible to work on effectively so we made a first cast in resin to be worked on. -resin cast sanded and details resculpted. -new mold making and final cast. We wanted her flexible with an adult body. She has dancer feet because I have always been in love with ballet so the first idea that popped up in my mind was to make her pointe feet and slippers. Everything is custom made minus the wig. Some parts still need refinement such as the hands that doesn't satisfy me but there she is. Please feel free to give me feedback and critique, ask questions, etc
I believe this post is better suited for the "Finished Works Gallery", not the "Works-in-Progress" She's very beautiful. Has such graceful lines and jointing.
I think she turned out beautifully . I love the decision to give her ballet feet. I've always loved the idea.
She looks so lovely and pristine~ *u* Great work. I would also want to try your method of sculpting in the future. That kind of tech is not really as accessible here. She's so wow~
Thanks~~ Joankagami : thanks As long as you have a decent computer and the software it is accessible for anybody who has learnt to do some 3D =) The printing is done by a company, since I suppose not many can afford a +150000$ machine, I most certainly CAN'T xD
❤ those feet! First time seeing ballet feet. There is only normal or high heel feet in the market. And you ballet feet is just so perfect!
