OH look, thread two! How exciting!
I've decided I'm going to keep my lusis-chibi hybrid for now! There has got to be some serious restyling done before she's perfect, though. I'm glad I'm going to stick around here too n_n

Has anyone tried the unoa hands or high heeled feet on their chibi? I'm most curious about whether or not I should invest in either or or both of these things! Does anyone else know someone (or IS someone ;3 ) who is interested in commissioning chibi clothes, too? I've got some really specific ideas for dresses for my girl but I don't know how to sew yet...

I sanded the chins down to allow for a more childish roundness (since she's going to be a chibi). Unfortunatly it looks like Gentaro's production values are getting a little shakey. There were several air bubbles in the chin that caused some pits and discoloration. I'm hoping a good face-up will hide them. There's also a pretty visable bubble on the Akubi's forhead. Again, I'm hoping a faceup will hide it. All that bad news aside: I'm so thrilled to finally start this project! The sleeping faceplate will have heavily modded eyes and they'll hopefully be getting everything done by mingyi or maybe phyllia. I haven't decided. Now I just have to wait for Gentaro to put the chibi kits in the webshop. I may end up with a temporary narsha body if the wait becomes to unbearable.

 

Amaranth: ive seen unoa hands on chibi. Since the proportions are vert similar it looked perfect! I didnt Know There was high Heel feet for unoa though

 

Quick question: Do the Volks MDD clothes fit the chibis?

 

they fit the 1.5 perfectly so I guess the Chibies not so much

Thank you Ashbet it is a Leekeworld 6-6.5" wig (fits PERFECTLY) its this one here in Goldenrod and evercream
The wig however arrived with loads of my guess is product in its hair that had to be washed out was all weird and sticky.

I had bought another short haired wig for her and I can safely say that this wig here in 6-6.5" is definetly a NO GO, the headcap fits fine, its just the way the hair is she gets big bald spots just infront of her ears, it was made for a smaller face then hers definetly.

 

I think... I think I've finally caved to the chibi cuteness D: !

I was comparing my unoa/chibi hybrid with my new boy who just came in - and the sist faceplate was just too ill-fiting/out of proportion for my taste. I thought what the heck - I'll just put on her roron faceplate to compare... and now I'm in love :3 She'll be heading out tomorrow to a very talented and local artist for a faceplate. She'll be a new shell for my retired sist faceplate!

But now the poor girl needs some semblance of fitting clothes. Where are you guys finding clothes for your chibis? Are there other types of dolls that you've found is a good equivalent for clothes shopping?

 

I found alot of the slimmer msd (mnf) clothes work, mostly only tops (not long sleaved ones), the pants are alright but ofcourse the legs are too long. The Capri's from brennil fit fine (in MNF size they fit better then in Unoa size, since the mnf's have smaller bums and so do the chibi's). A couple of strechy YoSD dresses "might" fit but I would not recomend buying anything, only using what you already have and ofcourse it depends on if you have the large bust or small bust body.
I personally bought 2 things from Dollmore which work perfectly (for large bust).
This narsha shirt.

This msd piano set.
Also ofcourse we have commisionners that make awesome clothes.
Altier Monomi (think that the name >_<) makes AWESOME jeans for the Chibi's. Brennil makes alot of stuff that will fit (again I HIGHLY recomend mnf sized items, small bust mnf sized items, since even the large boobed chibi is slimmer then the small bust mnf.) Just use alot of common sence, if its got long sleaves it wont work unless you dont mind folding over the edges (same with pants) but generally slim msd clothes will fit.
I will dig some more info up later gotta run home from work, I hope I gave you atleast a little bit of help.

 

I am curious too as to how the unoa hands would look on the chibi. Does anyone who has tried this have photographs they could share?

 

My chibi has arrived.... This is just her temporary faceup, and temporary wig and eyes but I couldn't wait to take her picture.

I made her a properly fitting dress today. Sorry that it's hot pink, but that's my practice fabric. It actually turned out perfect the first try though, so I could have used something nicer. Oh well, next time...

Oooh, I just got my prim and proper roron face for my girl! =P The boots are actually yosd sized from releaserain on ebay. They're *very* snug on chibi feet, but they're all have that remotely fits her.

The wig I've been waiting on arrived and today I did the temporary faceup on the prim and proper face... I'm still trying to figure out her name!

Yes I know what you mean! I ended up selling my Roron default faceplate to help pay for her new prim and proper face-plates and face-ups, so my girl is currently face-less!

 

Awww, I hope her faceplate comes home soon! Actually though, I like the faceup I did so much that I feel really torn about wiping it in two months to send the faceplate off. =/ Oh course the faceup artist can do SO much better than I can and I'm sure she'll make my girl look much prettier than she looks now but still... it's my best ever. Lol, I've actually been pondering putting up a WTB for another prim and proper roron FP so that I can send off the blank one and still keep my own! I'm a crazy person, aren't I?

Okay - so I need to know the scoop on SHOES. (I do so love talking about shoes :P ) What shoes have you guys found to fit your chibis specifically? My chibi-to-be would be more than happy to walk around barefoot, I'm sure, but the option to have them would always be nice.

 

I don't own a chibi unoa, but I do own a Minoru World Jr, and they have some really nice shoes on their site for that size. I would check the tiny size chart and see if they would work, and also on ebay shoes for the 14' kish dolls fit.

no there no such plans but I guess the new commodity might motivate them to join in,lol..

I have a HUGE, HUGE favor to ask someone who has the Lilin body. I'm planning to make an outfit for someone who has a Lilin, but I don't have a Chibi to measure or make patterns for. I've read that YoSD items fit, but I'm looking to make a corset and some balloon britches. What I'd need is for someone who knows how to flat pattern draft to tape up the torso/hips and send me the tape form. It would also be helpful to have the area from under the bust to the middle of the neck included. The corset will have a halter type shirt attached to it. I'm also considering making a wig, so if you wanted to do a tape form of the head too, I'd LOVE it!

If someone could do this for me, I'd appreciate it SO much. I'd even be willing to sew up a surprise or two for your girl. Please pm me if you'd like to help me out, and I'll share my addy with you.

I have read through most of the first chibi thread, and this one, so I'm jumping in with a couple of coments that might be out of sequence, so please forgive me!

I don't own a chibi, but dangit, all these photos have me really wanting one!

dollswest-the airbrush is the bane of my existence-I can't believe how fabulous your face-ups are! I kill myself to do a mediocre face-up with my ab! You really have a great talent for faceups!
prettybird-your chibi is absolutely darling! Great job on her face and the dress is adorable!
Ashbet-I am buying the house next to yours. I will be over every day to look at all the fabulous faceplates you have. I will bring wine.

I'm trying to figure out the whole deputy service thing, have never done that, but I really would like to have a chibi (thanks in great part to all of you on this thread!) lol!

 

Awww, they sold out already. I was just about to get the money together. I hope they restock soon!

 

It's not that they sold out, I think. I'm pretty sure they just haven't added any actual stock yet. After all, Crescent Shop usually opens pre-orders when Unoas are available and there's been no notice posted on their site. Hence, I think the Chini Unoas will only come into stock at a later date.

 

They've started selling them regularly on the webshop. The plan is to stock them until they reach a certain point, then restock them until orders are filled. At least, that's what I understood. Gentaro is trying to move away from the preorder idea and just go for a regularly stocked store.

I was just mourning that I was too slow to nab one from the first batch. XD

Ah, that makes me sad. Ah well, I don't have the money to buy them yet, haha. At least the face parts still seem to be in stock! I've got a lot of saving to do. I want a Chibi Unoa Lilin on the Roron body with the yancha, wink, sleepy, and Roron pout face plates (I hope I didn't mix their names up ). Yeah, tons of saving to do!

I'm really happy that the Unoas are seemingly permanently in stock now! Whoohoo!

 

They were in stock for the first 3 days as others said. However, I spoke to crescent and they replied saying that they don't have plans to do 'pre-orders' for the chibis anytime soon because of the way Gentarou is planning the webshop's stock, they also said they were'nt going to order from the webshop directly. If anyone plans on getting a chibi, I suggest you keep an eye on the webshop's stock and use a different deputy service.

 

Oh, Crescent won't order them then?

Guess I'll be using Celga. They ordered an item for me that Crescent Shop wouldn't, so I bet they'll have me covered.

 

I'm in shock. I didn't think I'd be able to get a chibi for some time, but I found one on ebay last night. I offered a lower price, and I got her! I can't believe it! I'm happy with the price and really looking forward to getting her!
She's a Lilin kit, and this will be the first time I'll have to put a doll together myself, but I'm looking forward to that as well!

My Lilin is here! I can't believe how quickly she arrived! She's absolutely precious! I did a quick faceup and put her together, still haven't seam sanded or msc-ed her body, but I couldn't wait to see her!

Oh yeah, I have no patience whatsoever! She's opted for the red wig instead of the white, and I adore her!
Just found two brands of shoes that work, Minoru Junior and Goodreau 16" doll shoes. I don't have any Minoru in yet, but the one pair of Goodreau's I have fit just a tiny big with socks.

Wally she's adorable. I also like her as a red head but the white is nice too. I just love her little smile. That face is just too precious. I really want a Lillin someday but it'll have to wait. In the meantime I enjoy my little Roron.
