      Yes, school is important... but I wish I go spend every day just making dollies. :P

      There is a poor lone Purple in my kitchen at home waiting to be sanded and finished, and it's driving me mad that she hasn't been finished yet.

      *sigh* At least she is drilled.

      At this rate, I won't be able to make a steady supply until summer. Hopefully, I will sell a few before then.

      I introduced her at a meet-up, and I have a feeling she would have "disappeared" if I wasn't looking. Hehehe.

      Okay, I have a question for you lovelies... If I went ahead and had Purple professionally cast, how many people would be willing to preorder one? I would have to buy a minimum of 50, but I don't know how much interest there is. Thanks in advance guys!

    33. I would love to buy a Purple. It would also be so cool if she was cast in a color (not necessarily Purple).
      I think selling 50 of them might be hard though, unless you were doing it through a doll seller company. It's not that Purple isn't a great doll, more that people just have limited money. Edited to add, I hope I am wrong about it being hard as it would be nice to see Purple go into production.
      I'd also be very comfortable with a handcast Purple. She could hang around my handcast Teds. I love handcast dolls, but understand that they're a lot of work for the caster.

    35. Bunnydots and nissi_nirvani -- I'm talking to Bobobie about casting Purple. (They would be able to cast in any of their colors. They seem to do quick work, and the price would probably be around 300 more or less.

      I hope that wouldn't be too expensive for everyone. I'm still factoring in all the costs. (Dolls, shipping,boxes, a website, pillows, eyes... etc.)

      This is only a dream until I know that I won't be in debt buying 50 dolls to begin with.

    36. That's really awesome news! Bobobie is SO cool to help artists get their dolls out and about like they have been doing.

      If I may make a suggestion, why don't you make a Marketplace feeler for Purple? A lot of people who might wish to buy her just never look in the artist's forum, or only do so once in a while and might not have seen your thread. Also, there are people who might not buy a handcast doll but would be so much more interested if she was being cast by Bobobie, especially in different colours.
      I don't know as a website would really do that much for you as it seems like a lot of people with no websites do quite well just selling their dollies on here or on eBay...but that's just my impression. And as for boxes and eyes, a lot of independent artists don't ship their finished dolls with eyes in, or with boxes and pillows. If you just swaddled the Purples up in a ton of bubble wrap and shipped them in a Priority box for free from the post office, they'd surely be fine. :aheartbea

    42. Renzi: Purple's face is wonderful! The attached kitty ears are perfect. A nicely done blend of cat and human. wishlist: I'd love human hands and feet and a more child-like body (chubbier body with less bust).

      Yeah, it doesn't look like she'll be professionally cast by Bobobie after all... there were only a few people that contacted me. But there's another plan in the works and if that fails, I can always cast her myself.
