Backstory: Ryu comes from a rather wealthy (aristocratic even you could say) family. He is the third of five children (by three different mothers). His mother left his father when he was five years old not taking a second look back or even giving a care about her child. His older brothers Calcifur and Shannon looked down upon him and left him alone for most of his childhood. His stepmother Kana (his father's 3rd wife) helped him find an artistic outlet in painting. He has two younger brothers Ayume and Ayase (twins), whom he helped care for until he went to college. He went to college and graduated with a degree in art, where he works as an assistant instructor for one of the painting clases and uses the workrooms for his messier abstract works he doesn't want to have to clean up after in his studio at home. He talked his father into finding a place for him to move out of the family home to during college to get away from the family home. Being the odd one out (as both sets of his brothers had another brother and he had no other sibling by his mother), he felt most fit living away from the recognition of titles and wealth, especially since he wasn't going to inherat the family business. While working as an assistant he came across one Kaoru Miyawaki whom he used as a model for one of his gala projects, whom he later became very attatched to...

Backstory: Eilian is a member of a troupe of traveling performers. He is one of the few humans in the troupe and is there until his contract with Velius is over, which will not happen within his lifetime.
He is a toymaker who specializes in dolls that carry a dark secret. His dolls are made with the souls that Velius collects for him. Though he hates himself for what he has done, Eilian has not been able to bring himself to break the contract. He does not fancy becoming a doll in Velius' growing collection.
