As the title says, I am wanting to see Celtic BJDs! I really want to make an Irish girl but I'm just unsure and such. So please show me your Scottish, Irish, and Gaelic related BJDs!!! Thank you!!
Kyle is Scottish... And Perrin is half Scottish, half Korean... I have another character who's Scottish, but I don't have a doll for her yet!
My John Barleycorn (Volks Emma boy) is the Year King and Harvest Lord, my amalgamation of favorite Celtic myths from my childhood. Poor lad, getting sacrificed every season...
[Bad photo, sorry. I'm working on making him proper clothes, but my sewing machine broke and I'm a bit busy lately. And it's from a photostory, but the most recent pic I had.] My boy, Tynan, is Gaelic. Well, his parents were, but he was raised in England :3
Thanks! I don't only want freckles though, I want to see what people have done to make celtic dolls, since I would like to make one myself
All Irish: (these first three happen to be related to each other) Frank Donncha Lawrence (AKA Lorry) Rory I have a few more but I either don't have pics of them or the pics I have are really bad--worse than the ones above (a scary thought, lol)
Kai's scottish >,>;; and kinda grouchy in this shot not so grouchy here: http://hellsing365.deviantart.com/art/Freckles-cuteness-71040078 Haru's part irish.... as is kaz (other personality) http://hellsing365.deviantart.com/art/Chrome-80802365
I have two Celtic lads. Cian Cyan Teyrnon Kentigern. Pronounced KEE-an KUHN-ahn TAYR-non KENT-ee-gern. Meanings: Cian: Celtic - ancient, enduring; Cyan: Celtic - great, high; Teyrnon: Welsh - divine Prince; Kentigern: Scottish - head lord. He is the Lord High Liege of the Malachite Labyrinth, a Celtic/Japanese yôkai kingdom. (Orientdoll Winged So Ye Vampire) Nigel Bennett Macpherson - Scottish (YoSD Kuuta)
That's odd...I was sure I posted in here today. What about Welsh dolls? Has anyone made a Welsh costume for their dolls? I'd be really interested to see it. I might make one for my dolls one day XD
This post is a little late, but I blame that on my broken camera. X.x Here is my Irish boyo Liam. He's a Souldoll/Domuya hybrid. :-)
I just did Alyce's Freckles yesterday (which is why It's a horrible picture) but I'm thinking that she just might be Irish
They're elves, but looking somewhat Celtic-y... 07-03-Pasadena-053a449 by aprilllee, on Flickr (Elf Yder) 07-03-Pasadena-033a449 by aprilllee, on Flickr (Juri '05)
Here's my Dollstown Soph Elf...she is an Irish Elf named Aoife..... Here's AiL Chloe....she's Irish too..... And little AiL Daryl...... All the best, xen
older thread I know, but I'm bumping for more, because I'm planning for my Seelie Court fae and want to see more Scottish/Gael/Irish/Welsh/whatever dolls!
It's interesting to see most the Irish dolls have red hair when any Irish I've ever known have always had the black hair and blue eyes. I think red hair is more common in scotland than Ireland, I've never seen a red headed Irish myself. Not enough Welsh dolls imo! heheh
I don't know many welsh people myself personally (who are not several generations removed from Wales anyway, which includes myself) but Mathonwy here is supposed to be Welsh, in a World-that-was fairytale sort of Arthurian-esque UK setting I have my dolls in.
Hah, true that! My family is very, very Irish--we go straight back on both sides except my dad's mom, who's Italian--but needless to say, we all have dark hair and my brothers and dad have bright blue eyes. Except me. I have very green eyes and reddish brown hair, like my mom. She has brown eyes, though, so who knows where my green came from. XD Anywho! Here's my boy Fawn. He's an Irish fae~ I wanted to base him in the late 1800s/early 1900s. He's a prince of the forest, but fell in love with a rich English girl (aka FORBIDDEN love in this time period~!) so he dressed down into some commoner clothing and went to work at her father's stables. Fawn has a great talent for horses. And fiddling.
since the links all died, I'll add David in here again! Those other pictures were all old anyway. David Riley (Migidoll Ryu): Irish Vampire (712 yrs old). He's since lost his accent, but he's still Irish!
Sean and Seamus Kavanaugh. They're Scottish/Irish and have naturally reddish-brown hair and green eyes. (Their colouring mostly comes from their mother, who was the Scottish half of the equation.) ...Not that you can tell that now, since they're vampires and now have red/black eyes and unnaturally brightly dyed hair. And my Celtic elf Finnegan:
These are old photos, but I'll share anyway. Someone said they had not seen a redheaded Irishman.. ..well here's Ciarin, my nugget from Kilkenny Heehee, I know the person meant in real life, but I've seen lots of them, so Ciarin is my example. No new photos of him though, as he's awaiting a new face. This is his Highland cousin, Cernach (eek - preblushed!). He doesn't wear his kilt all the time, but it is my favorite of his outfits. It is made in his McKinnon clan's Hunting Tartan.
My Scottish family; (Finlay's shawl wrap was handmade by trinlayk) Wick (Dollzone Ray) next up on the to do list is to make him a kilt... (Wick's sweater was handmade by starpunzel) Finlay (Bobobie Ariel) Gus (B&G Leile)
Eusebia, who was painted by the amazing Lyn Raftis has mostly Scottish ancestry. My Lilja is half Celtic -- her mother was captured on a Viking raid and taken back to Iceland, where Lilja was born. I don't have this girl anymore, but I painted her with an Irish look:
My Leekeworld Mabel for the Renn Faire: I wanted to give her a traditional Celtic outfit, circa 400ad.
Here's my Arwyn, a Celtic Warrior Maiden. And yes. she has red hair - but that's mostly because it goes so well with her blue outfit. I prefer photographing her outside in natural settings and even took her on a cross-country road trip through the Rockies. You can see more photos of her at; http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?397325-Waiting-on-the-Beach-(Elfdoll-Ryung) and http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?405510-Icefields-Quest-(Elfdoll-Ryung)
My Irish girl: And my friend's Irish girl: (granted, she doesn't normally dress like a pirate and her eyes are now more green since my friend was finally able to afford more eyes xD)
I'm offended by the number of Irish ginger ><! I don't know ANY ginger Irish, most of them have black/brown hair people XD Kieran, my Irish boy: Heart & Soul, Scottish twins:
My Scottish group of siblings: Moira and Fee. Elfdoll Soah and AR Genie Lilica Fee Moira BJDC Convention by clochette62, on Flickr Twins Macrae and Mackenzie (BlueFairy Tiny Fairy Niky and Emile) Baby sister Faith (Rosenleid Tuesday's Child Arina) Merida (BeWithYou/Dollsbe Carrot) Carrot by clochette62, on Flickr
Lovely dolls everyone! My little boy is part Irish & German and Korean & Japanese. He does have lighter brown hair and green eyes (wearing blue here) that he likes to dye 'blonde' cuz he says it looks the best on him, LOL! His Mom is the I&G and she has light brown curly hair and light brown eyes, which is where he gets it: New Easter Overcoat 2011 by JediSpiceGissia, on Flickr My own Granny's family came here from Ireland and she has red curly hair and blue eyes, her sister has black curly hair and blue eyes, and same for their brother. Even tho they are Irish the family name is Welsh: Griffin. I'm guessing there is a Scott in there somewhere, hehehe! Although, I was told that people from Scotland & Ireland share family ties because many of these people's moved back and forth between the two places. Which is why you will see a 'McGregor' (scotish) and a 'MacGregor' (irish). But, I am not sure if that is 100% correct anyway, especially my spelling! I was told anything with a 'Mc' was scotish and anything with a 'Mac' was irish... Anywho...Sorry I don't have any traditional costumes for my guy! How about his overcoat? It rains a lot in the Isles right, so an overcoat is modern Celtic? Moontouched-I hope you will post pics soon?
My Breslyn, the Fomorian princess (she can be giant or smallest than grass) And Aidan, one of the Tuatha Dé Danann They are enemies.
Here's my sister's Keith Jack 65cm portrait doll. He's a replica of the Scottish singer/actor, and wearing his 'Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' outfit.
Lilac work is impressive. In the same spirit and with an inspiration from her here is Myst, my scott warrior, he is an MSD Angel of Dream. And for irish lovers in a different spirit I make a little fey, an Irish fey : she's a Sara Toyou from Limhwa.
