    5. Briefly describe your entry's concept: Seeds aren’t just for beautiful hair! In the garden I put down some fresh dirt (the floor) and using free form basketry wove a 2 sided structure (the walls). All the materials were gathered from our yard and the woods near us. We are looking forward to seeing which seeds decide to grow here next spring.

    8. Briefly describe your entry's concept:

Even the fae Need a place to hide sometimes; and can be found in the most unlikely of places. The waterfall was meant as a centerpiece, surrounded by plenty of greenery and flowers, as one would expect of a flower fairy. Though one would expect a comfy bed to lie on, Emrys prefers a good fun swing instead.

    11. Briefly describe your entry's concept: Since I made her a party dress I thought she should be at a party! I wanted it to be very colorful and have a similar vibe as the wig and dress so I used color changing fabric for the walls. The diorama is very large, 36" x 36", so I had to use quite a bit of fabric. Because it is so large it is collapsible for easy storage.

    16. Briefly describe your entry's concept:
"There was a boy... A very strange enchanted boy..."

Continuing the theatrical theme, what better entrance for a performer than to make their grand entrance on stage on an acrobatic swing?

The stage set itself is tall and deep enough for the doll to stand and sit inside, but the request was for their grand entrance - so she's making her entrance from the ceiling.

The props and set decor reflects both her clown status and the tragic romance of the Pierrot character. The theatre has all of the grand run down mystique of the older performing arts spaces, and the sets depict a stylised night time scene in Paris, all purposefully themed to fit that slightly out of time scheme she has about her.

The theatre of course has it's own dramatic lighting, as well as the stage lights, and dramatic weather/moon lighting, the sets themselves also glow in the dark!

She's clutching a jingly Jester's marionette stick, and has all of the appropriate props; tragedy/comedy masks, a banana (for it's skin), a 'cream' pie for splatting, an oversized ball, and a few more truly random objects d'art such as a life ring and a gourd.

Th stairway can be easily removed, as well as the whole of the 2nd floor. There are lights on the roof of the 1st floor and the 'gate'.

    18. Briefly describe your entry's concept:
She steps out of a storybook and into a fairytale world of paper and words where she meets the dragon who is her destiny.
Because my doll's outfit as well as her wig is made mainly from paper, I wanted to continue the paper theme. So my set is set in a curved landscape made of newspaper, fairytales and watercolour paint and it features a book that has been altered to show fairytales in visual form. A lot of my materials were printed - I used Grimm's fairytales and Victorian book illustrations found online and printed them in a mix of colour and greyscale onto cream and white paper. The dragon is an online printable overlaid as a watermark onto Grimm's fairytales and then aged using tea.

    21. Briefly describe your entry's concept: It's her time to host the teaparty and everything is perfectly spectacular. The guests are here and they are dazzled. Magical!

There was nothing else left to do than to create the magical teaparty room to tie everything together and once again I am playing with rococo themes with a dolly twist. The wallpaper I found allowed me to create an illusion of a gallery room and some of the frames contain some of the most iconic paintings of the period. The frames have been handpainted with pastel and metallic gold markers. My favourite part was making and decorating the tiny teaparty set itself, with all the glittery macarons and cakes.

As for the furniture: the chaise longue is using washing sponges and cardboard as the base, pillow filling, satin for upholstering and laces for decoration. The bigger table is made out of a plant pot holder painted gold, with ribbon around the legs and a lacy rim. The smaller table is a box lid with popsicle sticks for legs and a lacy rim as well.

The tea set is hand decorated with the rims and handles painted gold, and all the sweets are handmade. The angel sculpture has been painted to look like a plaster cast and the whole piece was decorated with roses, pearls and glitter.

The chandeliers are birthday cake candle holders painted gold and decorated with flowers and pearls, with golden candles carved out of birthday candles.

The window is a picture frame where a foil "glass" pane has been added, and was decorated with fabric flowers.

    26. Briefly describe your entry's concept:
The Silver Goddess dwells within an ancient stone temple. Her worshipers clean their feet in the basin at the entrance so as not to soil the sacred floors. A small depiction of a dragon oversees all who enter the Goddess's realm.

    28. Briefly describe your entry's concept:
Though dancing is all well and good, the Lady quickly moves to the most important part of the ball: the banquet table. Situated by a gorgeous stained glass window, fine cheeses, sweets, and berries offer a reprieve from the maelstrom of moving bodies. She regally selects a cream puff while scoping the ballroom for her next dance partner.

    29. Briefly describe your entry's concept:
"Going out to a gala? Hah! The gala would come to her! Her visitors would be let into the room where she was lounging, looking elegantly nonchalant and unbothered by social niceties. She'd get up when she felt like it, which she might not, since the radiator under the window was comfortably warm. She stared toward the door and tried not to look too eager, knowing full well the striking image she made against the golden fabric of the chaise and the silver damask on the wall complementing her outfit. She couldn't wait!"

I wanted to play to the more elegant side of her in the room, so I decided to go for something you could find in an old mansion which is the place she lives in. The dark wooden floors, big window with silky curtains and the accent wall with a shimmery damask pattern were born from this idea, and what would look more in place in a room like that than a chaise, especially one covered with a nice golden fabric. The radiator covering was made to make the room look more lived in, as were the small table and flowerpot. The curtains are held together by the same can parts her wig is made of, to bring everything a full circle.

    31. Briefly describe your entry's concept:
I was inspired by some rusty barrels I found in a friend's yard. I thought, wouldn't this make a great base for the den of an urban, industrial witch? I didn't want the scene to be totally monochrome, so I had the great idea to add uv reactive glitters to make certain details, like the candles, pop.

    32. Briefly describe your entry's concept:
Dressed for success and adorned with a wig that's equal parts fashion and conversation piece, this intrepid aviatrix is ready to pilot her own personal airship to wherever adventure takes her.

Hardwood floor slats from ripping 2 by 4 boards are paneled on a piece of scrap plywood on a base of 2 x 4s; spyglass and furnishings were cut from wood (captain's wheel, engine control telegraph, and lever box) were made of wood and stained/painted. Window was made of pipe hanging strap and decorative brads with a sheet behind it for the blue sky. Walls were made of cardboard covered with paper and cardstock with decorative brads. Doors were made of spray painted cardboard, thumbtacks, and straws for the hinges.

    33. Briefly describe your entry's concept:
Every true leader knows when to lead, and when to relax. This shrine was built by the local villagers as thanks for the protection my crew provides to their small town. It is my favorite place to stop and relax. I come there at night to enjoy the scent of cherry blossoms on the mountain breeze. Sometimes I even find offerings left behind by the humans. I don't always know what to do with them however. It was nice to go on this adventure with you all. If you had fun, maybe you can leave me an offering as well!
