    2. Concept behind your entry:
I tried to use the colors of the forum in my outfit and do something just a bit out of the norm. For my halo i was trying to channel the look of some classical paintings rather than the type of halo you would normally see

      Materials used:

My wings were the hardest thing to make haha. I used paper plates. My family always keeps them in the house and i thought they would create a cool look. We also always have plastic utensils and i chose to use forks glued to ribbon to create my halo. We are a crafty family who always has paint so I painted them gold. The outfit is all scrap fabric we had laying around from previous costumes and doll clothing adventures. Nothing here was actually sewn, but just strategically draped and tied on me for a softer lay and feel (and so we can later use the fabric). The gold "belt" under my blue top is made entirely of pipe cleaners we had buried in our craft closet. The gold bow is a square of fabric tied in a bow and held in the middle (and on the skirt) with pipe cleaners. I had these really nice string lights that i once used for a doll photoshoot and i thought they would add an ethereal touch to my angel. I also threw on an old wig because my hair is recognizeable to anyone that happens to follow me on other social media and i wanted to hopefully prevent people from knowing who this is. The tattoo is not painted, it's real and i thought it went nicely so i decided against covering it. Please ignore my cutesy mural, my room just happened to have the best lighting haha.

    3. Concept behind your entry:
I decided to turn my son into a very shiny angel, he wasn't the most compliant model but he did a better job than I probably would have.

      Materials used:
I crocheted him a headband "halo" and belt out of yarn leftover from wig making, and I used an empty pasta box painted with acrylic paints for the stars, I used the same box as a base for the wings with the feathered part made from some sketchbook paper and painted with the same paints. The robe is an old t-shirt of mine.

    4. The Ultimate Budget Angel Outfit

      Concept behind your entry:
With the theme being 'back to basics' I figured I would try create a cosplay that would use the bare minimum materials, not cost anything and take a short amount of time.

Thus the creation of 'The Ultimate Budget Angel Outfit'.

It requires no sewing, an hour or less to create and a bunch of materials i found lying around the house (or in my trash bin).

I hope 'The Ultimate Budget Angel Outfit' brings some good memories of making your first cosplay last minute, having a minimum budget and creating something out of what seemed like nothing.

Materials used and where found: Old Bedsheet (Cupboard), pipe cleaners (craft box), scissors (on desk), stapler (on desk), tape (on desk), clear ruler (on desk), 2 sheets of A3 paper (next to craft box), cardboard cup holder (in my trash bin).

    5. Concept behind your entry:

Who are the real angels in this hobby? The messengers from the companies, who bring us our beautiful dolls? The postal workers, of course! I wanted to celebrate the wonderful postal workers who deliver our packages with care and a smile on their face, the ones who get excited with us, stay patient with us and help us when something goes missing or gets damaged. In my cosplay entry, my angel wears a bed sheet gown (with white undershirt), bubblewrap wings, packing pillow belt and completes the ensemble with a USPS box halo and carries a lovely box from Luts!

      Materials used:
      -bed sheet
      -white t-shirt
      -USPS Priority Mail box
      -packing pillows
      -wire hanger
      -bubblewrap
      -ribbon
      -packing tape
      -Luts doll box
      -handsome human model

    6. Concept behind your entry: I guess this is sort of a throwback to my entries for DoA's 10 anniversary triathlon challenges (the theme was angels). I had used my first doll Azrael as my guinea pig for the duration of the event and it gave me quite a few really good ideas about how I would write his story and how to flesh out his character a little more. He's been my angel ever since. :aheartbea This I suppose is a tribute to him and how his character has evolved (and I'm even using the same material I wrapped around him in challenge #3)!

Materials used: White linen and muslin fabrics, Death tarot card, gold eye shadows/make up & lip gloss.

    7. Concept behind your entry: Inspired by the Venetian Carnival - a bold and colourful masked angel.

      Materials used:

      From my sewing stash -
      4 metres chiffon fabric
      Vintage saree
      Round tablecloth
Bias binding (to finish the raw edges or the wings)
Red ribbon - to create pouches for the canes

      From my craft box -
      Plain mache mask
      Decoupage papers to cover it
      Matte mod podge
      Brushes

      From the garage -

Garden canes to support the wings

      From my clothes cupboard -
Elastic belt to fit the saree around to form the skirt
Dark grey tank top to act as a base and to attach the wings

      To hold everything together -
      Sewing thread
      Safety pins

    8. Concept behind your entry: I scraped together what I had to try to make a convincing angel

      Materials used:
      - Halloween angel wings purchased for use for a doll two years ago. I don't use them for the doll all the time and I'm looking to get something better, but that's how I had them. They don't show well in the photos but they're there.
      - Bottom sheet from a bedding set purchased at the Salvation Army approximately a year ago. I bought it for the white fabric in the center. It's very light and makes excellent doll clothes. I'm lucky I had enough left to make the "toga"
      - A white square of a lacy sort of fabric. I don't know what it originally was used for, but it too was purchased at a thrift store with the intent to make doll clothing. I still chicken out on using tricky fabrics to sew, so it's still intact even though it's been in my possession for over a year now. It made a nice little head cover.
      - Wire purchased at Michael's, uh, eons ago. I made an SD sized bow with it, then the rest went into the crafting box. It makes up the halo base and ring.
      - Christmas tinsel. I had to rummage through the holiday boxes in the basement for this. I wrapped it around the halo.
      - Shiny bracelet. One of my dolls wore this as a belt at one point. I think I got it from eBay sometime last year.
      - Necklace was also an eBay purchase and is something I intend to modify to fit one of my dolls to look like armor. I have a lot of projects, but I will eventually get to it! I swear!

    9. Concept behind your entry:

Based on the cherubs at the bottom of Raphael's Madonna di San Sisto (Sistine Madonna) that have always reminded me of Statler and Waldorf from The Muppet Show yet seem to pop up everywhere in my life. These angels are flipping everywhere.

      Materials used:

A set of broken black wings (how apt!) given to me by a friend and the only white dress I own (only because I didn't want to be naked!)

      Cupid

      Materials used:

      Everything shown came from stash:
Crown: artificial flowers (bought for previous contest, but never used)
Dress: remnant cotton cloth and trim (also bought for previous contest, but never used)
Bow and arrow: toys already owned by my son
Wings: feathered trim, evafoam and doublesided tape (all surplus from previous contests)
Arrowbag: leather apron (bought prior to contest announcement but made specifically for contest)

Note: my son gave explicit permission to use these photos of him for this contest and enjoyed playing cupid to make his parents fall in love (again).

    12. Concept behind your entry:

My entry is inspired by a quote from Thomas Carlyle: "Music is well said to be the speech of angels."

      Materials used:

I made my mask, horns, and glove using flexible 3D printing filament. I borrowed a lot of items for this cosplay from my husband, a former goth club attendee (lol). That is his jacket, shirt, and violin. The wings were also his from a previous Halloween costume when he went as Cupid. The pirate pants are mine from our local Renaissance faire.

    13. Concept behind your entry:

We all have seen someone talking about how "the forum's name is inappropriated because people in the hobby arent the more angelical out there", so I decided it was the perfect chance to twist the angel concept into a "fallen angel" (which I personally find more interesting cause fallen angels have a ill beyond their creation).

      Materials used:

For the wings I used a metal clothe hanger (they come back with the clothe when u take it for the laundry service), aluminium foil, scissors and cold silicone glue. The dress is the only black dress my model owns that wasnt to wash, and we used some kind of silver ribbon in the foot that was actually decorating my last bought second handed doll's box.

For the fun of it. I been wanting to cosplay for a while honestly. I loved how the mini wings came out and will end up drawing a original character out of this cosplay. Thank you for this contest. ^ ^.
