Aesthetics 1st face up - feedback please

Apr 19, 2018

    1. This is my first finished face up (yayyy!).
Painting the teeth was very very challenging to me , but since this is the only blank head I have, i had no choice but to use this head :D (this is a free head i got from buying fairyland doll).
Sorry about the super long eyelashes - its my old fake eyelashes hahhaha
omg i just realised theres a dust stuck on the sealant too hhahaha

Please give advice and feedback so I can improve!! thank youuu

    2. I think you did a great job. The only issue I see is her eyebrows. You want to give a female thin tapered eyebrows from start to finish. You can Google eyebrows in images, and see the difference between male and female eyebrows. You did an excellent job in how to place them, but they need to be thinner, and smaller for such a small face. Congrats. I tried doing one once and never again.

    3. Personally, I love the eyebrows. I think they have quite a nice look, a bit more natural then most you see. The thing I notice that you could improve upon is that her blushing isn't super even, it looks like one side is lower then the other. Also, your pencil marks are a little on the thick side.
All in all though it looks great for a first time!

    4. This is an especially good first time face-up, you should be very proud! I think you've done a wonderful job on the brows and lashes and I look forward to seeing more of your work as you continue to practice more.

    5. Wow! I really love how you did the eyebrows...though, I would personally make the innermost ends a bit darker (or perhaps thicker is a better term, but not width wise, if that makes sense?). The only thing that I found that really jumped out at me, and it could just be camera angle, but the lower lashes seemed a bit off, and I'm not quite sure I can describe how.
It's really amazing for your first face-up, though!!!!! :D

    6. For your first one, this looks like you are off to a great start. I disagree with animemom, I personally like the thicker brow trend, and don't believe all women need tapered brows. I think your lines could be a bit sharper, maybe try sharpening your pencil after a few strokes. overall your symmetry is nice. I am really excited to see you progress as an artist.

    7. You did a fantastic job! It’s looking fabulous!
The only thing you need is routine to define your traits. With growing experience you will notice the possibilities, improve what you already are able to do nicely and avoid making things you dislike. I can see here that you’ll have a pretty style. Focus on how you guide the pencil and the depth you create with it. At the moment, it looks quite flat because of missing contrasts in high and low tones. Define single hairs by working on them layer per layer to darken the color. As for the blush, try to focus it more on the areas you intend to blush instead of spreading it all over the doll’s cheeks. If you don’t like what you did, you can erase the layer you are currently working on with an eraser. Precision erasers help shaping eye brows, lips and eye shadows.

    8. Holy Moly Batman! This is seriously your first go at faceup?

Well done, it’s amazing! I’m really digging those eyebrows and those eyelashes are gorgeous.

    9. Wow! She looks gorgeous! I'm thinking of doing my first face-up soon, but i have zero experience! >.< i'm afraid i might do a terrible job and have my girl hanging around with a messed up Face-up lol, but yours looks great!

    10. Thank you very much guys! I did realise my pencil was not sharp all the time but I got impatient :p
It was mostly because of that , I just went all over the place (like the blushing >.<).

To be precise this is my second try (it wasnt finished and turned out to look like a chipmunk! so I erased and... TADDAAAHH this happened).

After reading all the feedback, now I can see more clearly the flaws I made.

You guys are very helpful , thank you ! I will practice, practice and practice! <3 <3 <3

    11. It already looks good! I believe my fifth try wasn't as good as your first one :XD:

    12. So happy that you think it is good! thank you!
however I doubt that your 5th face up is "not as good" as mine. Views of good/beauty are relative, im sure so many people will think its better than mine :)

    13. It is indeed very good for a first faceup! I think the blushing looks cute and the lips look very good. I would agree that the pencil lines might just so slightly too thick. Again, nicely done!

    14. wow! for a first time it look good !
