Sewing for dolls is very different from sewing for people. It really perplexed my simple mind for awhile. But I finally finished Nix's outfit! It looks alot like what her character would wear too It looks a bit gypsy-ish, since that's kind of what the human culture wears in her 'storyline', but she's not really a gypsy person. Just the average human. So, on to the pictures! Though my flash is insane, this one shows more of the true colors of the fabric: And now for the run-down of what makes her outfit: The top is from a people pattern (McCalls 9308) that I scaled down to fit MSD. It's a drawstring at the top 'cause I like that look. And I'm lazy lol. The skirt is just an elastic topped tier skirt that was supposed to have 3 tiers but as I said before, I am lazy. And it's kinda cute being so short. It fits her... The tie belt is simply a rectangle of fabric that wraps around her waist, and the clip is one of my old hair clips. Looks better on her anyways. I made everything but the clip and the boots... those I bought. Feel free to critique so my next sewing project might come out a little better... and any ideas you may have are always welcome. Thanks for viewing!
That is a cute outfit. It does suit her. The only suggestion I have is to find a thread that matches better for the top as you did for the skirt, since the white really stands out. The colors are great.
