This may will be my first doll's 19th anniversary with me. And since Jpunk is so hard to find these days I've decided to make him 19 pieces of new clothing. This is what I have done so far.
Period-Appropriate Punk Compliments: "Proper Punk": A high-speed way to say someone has perfectly captured the authentic, gritty essence of the subculture. "Top Notch" / "Sorted": Common British slang of the era used to describe an outfit that is complete and looks exactly as it should. "Deadly": Often used in the post-punk or gothic-adjacent scenes to describe a look that is impressively dark or aggressive. "Ace": A general British term for "excellent" that remained popular among youth throughout the 70s and 80s. "Sound": Used to describe something that is "correct" or cool in a reliable, authentic way. "Bollocks": In the right context (e.g., "The Dog's Bollocks"), this was a gritty, highly emphatic way to say something was the absolute best, though it was intentionally crude.
Awesome! These are such great pieces! You are so talented! BTW, happy 19th anniversary on your first doll! Who is the lucky boy or girl?
Thank you so much everyone! I used fabric spray paint from Michaels and stencils. Yes, my bank shirts are custom dtf printed and the stencils a mix of bought and handmade on my Cricut. That would be my Abio Angel Yi, Takuya. He is very pleased with these.
Oh! Be still my heart! You have an Abio Angel Yi! That doll brings back so many nostalgic feels. I wanted one of the Abio Angels when I first got into this hobby back in 2006, but the company just disappeared. Your boy is awesome!
Bonus shirts I made last night! I say bonus because I'm not counting them towards the 19 pieces. Plus they're not all mine. The System of a Down is for my bestie who also has an Abio Angel Yi and the exploited is going to my convention booth. Now The Clash and Dystopia are Takuya's. The clash is one of his favourite bands and it was a crime he did not have a shirt. WIP a 2nd colourway of the skeleton jeans.
Another pair of jeans in progress. I tried my hand at tie dyeing, and I ended up with more black than white, but I can live with it. I'm on the fence with what the final design will be. Do I make it another skeleton pair? Or do something else?
I went with the skeleton design for the tie-dye and I love it. But it's a similar colour to the other jeans so I'm wondering if I'm keeping both. I might keep the tie-dye and let the other go. I love this design though so I might find another denim colour to replace it with.
absolutely stunning work. Everything looks crisp and executed with perfection. you have some very lucky dolls!
New Thank you so much! Today I completed two pairs of tartan baggy pants. Just something simple and casual for comfy days.
New I have completed another pair of tartan pants, 2 tank tops, and 4 button up shirts. But the night is still young! Ignore how wrinkly the back tank is, it's been in my WIP bin for a year and needs ironed.
New I have probably reached my 19 piece goal, but I'm going to keep going as long as I have ideas! Here's today's work.
New Huge update. These cheetah print long shorts with band patches. Two split colour shirts. One for my boy and one for my bestie. Our boys' will be twinning at an upcoming convention. 4 new band tanks. Two new checkered button ups Works in progress. Black long shorts and these cut out pants.
