14 years in the making

    1. Hi there! Glad to see my account is still here after so many years -- even gladder I actually remembered my password. Back then I was far too shy to post about anything and didn't have much to post about other than admiring these dolls from afar. Flash forward 14 years, falling headfirst into Final Fantasy 14, discovering there was an Y'shtola Dollfie out there that I had long missed the preorder on... and I find myself looking again at the BJDs I had admired so long ago.

      But now I have the resources to act upon these things! I've got a Dollsoom Beryl and a Minifee Miwa on layaway, and I'll be attending BJDC in Austin next week to really know what I got myself into. I'm pleased to meet you all and hope to stick around!

    2. FFXIV is the best! I spend way too much time in game.
      I even made a doll of my Lalafell!
      The Y'shtola doll was lovely but honestly the face was too...soft? In my opinion anyway. I'd considered making my own and trying to get the clothes second hand. You could do that if you REALLY want her ;)
      Anyway welcome back!

      Totally agree -- same reason why I didn't pursue the Nier Automata 2B doll after market, I feel like a different face would do her better. I'm interested in crafting doll cosplays so we'll see what happens!

    11. Welcome back! It is so neat how things can come full circle like it has for you. I have also loved BJD’s for a long time and this year I have finally bought my first doll that I am patiently waiting to arrive. I hope you have a fantastic time at BJDC!

    12. I'm just starting to get my sea legs with DoA and this is such a reassuring thing to read, I made my account 10 years ago, and I just logged in for the first time again a few days ago (lol). Amazing how time changes some things, but some things also stay the same. Welcome, from one returning newbie to another!
