Body Comparison 13cm vs 12.5cm necks for 75cm boys?

Jul 21, 2025

    1. Hello! I’m looking at a Wonderland 75cm body and the neck options are 12.5 or 13cm. I think the 13 looks slightly more “human”, and the 12.5 is a little more slender.

My heads I would need this for say the neck is 13cm, but they have pretty delicate features, nothing extra muscular.

I asked the dealer and they said both would work, just personal preference.

I can’t really decide, and I’m not super familiar with the 75cm size.
      What do you guys recommend?

    2. What your dealer said! With neck sizes that big it really doesn't matter much and goes down to personal preference. I'd personally go with the slender neck, as wigs and clothes can make the neck/shoulders look wider (and with a slimmer neck you're countering that a bit).

    3. Oh thanks, that’s good to know! I guess there’s no real gapping with only half a cm?

    4. I don't own a 75cm+ doll, but my largest is 67cm and his neck is only 12.5cm and I always wished it was thicker. I sadly don't own any larger bodies with thicker necks, but I've become pickier over th years, so much so that I stopped purchasing resin BJD more than ten years ago (then I got a mature tiny, but he's hyper stylized, so his neck bothers me but not too much... or does it? DX). I am an old fart, who prefers realistic yet idealized proportions, however. So, I want all my dolls to look healthy, young, and well-proportioned not like they are aging poorly due to health issues, which is the only reason I see for people IRL, having ultra-thin necks. As a short scrawny (old fart) for all of my life, my neck is as wide as the width of my jawline. I've only seen younger people with thinner necks when they are doing poorly in terms of health. These are of course dolls, and not actual people, and it does absolutely depend on personal preference, but I never favored apple on a stick look on any dolls/figures/toys. Unless they are hyper stylized. Otherwise, to me they look unhealthy, in an aging prematurely, type of way. (:

Here's my Limhwa Limho Mano, who doesn't look like that anymore (I repainted him recently!), but the image on the left side (our left) is his 12.5cm neck, and the image on the right (our right) is how I wish his neck was actually like (quick and dirty Photoshopped image). I feel he would look much more mature, masculine and also realistic. The thinner neck makes him look bobble-headed, and Barbie-ish in my opinion, and I actually love Barbie. DX

Again, a matter of personal preference, but I do feel like thicker necks make the dolls look less doll like, and less like they have health issues. (:

    5. Thank you! Yeah, I agree…I think for such a tall kinda muscular body (the Wonderland 75) maybe 12.5 could be a little small. I have 2 heads that’s can fit this body and they’re both 13cm so I may just choose the 13cm neck.

    6. I have just checked the shoulder measurements (including arms) and it is 20cm, so I would definitely go for the larger neck size (if you are using the appropriate heads of course ;) ).

    7. Agreed! I was comparing it with other bodies and I feel like for 20cm, the neck should definitely be a bit larger than 12.5!
