Dollshe Eye Size

This is the only photo I have right now where Damian's eyes show up. They are the eyes Tensiya chose for him, and I believe they are 14mm.

I've thought of trying him with 16mm, but I think they'd look strange and he'd be better off with the 14s...

Okay, I have found the perfect eyes for my future boy...unfortunately they do not come in 14mm...
So, if anyone has pics of their dollshe boys (particularly Bernards!) in 16mm eyes, I'd love to see what that looks like!

 

The eye sockets of Dollshe boys are very small ^^. When you put a 14mm eyes they fits perfectly. I don't think a 16mm would fit without a slight eye mod from inside. =)
Maybe if you try to sand a little with a 16mm eye beveller (don't know if this is the right name, sorry) you can make it fit!

 

All the 16mm I own fit Kiylan perfectly! Actually, they often fit better than the 14mm ones, which sometimes leave gaps... It could be a bit different with a Bernard, but most likely not that much. ^_^

I can get 16mm into my Bernard. What seems to be more the question is how weighted/domed the eye is... I'll take pictures. I have glass, acrylic, and some silicon Soom eyes...I'll try them all on for ya.

18mm dont fit into their eye gap (I wish they did 'doe) So the eye range is usually 12-16mm

For me, I prefer 16mm. Fyi, Vice (husky) eyes are slightly widen (cause I wanted to fit lashes.

Can anyone show me a Hound (preferably IM Hound) with 12mm eyes? I love the way Zagzagaels SA Bernard looks with them, so realistic!

 

I'd like to see some images of Dollshe Saints, preferably SA Saints, with 16mm eyes, rather than the default 14mm. I've just ordered one, and I've got a set of eyes that could work... if they're not too large. Just want to know if I need to buy new ones or not! Thanks!

Hello. ^^ I am about to receive a Dollshe Saint and I have heard different things about eye size. If you happen to have pictures of Dollshe dolls (saints preferred, non-SA would be perfect) with 14mm, 16mm, or 18mm eyes, that would be great. Thanks.

 

Just a thought here . . . Hounds and Saints have *very* different eye sizes and shapes, to go with their very different head sizes and shapes. I honestly don't think you'll get much useful info from eye-size pictures of Hounds, if it's a Saint you're buying.

And I'm not sure who told you that 16mm and 18mm eyes would work for a Saint, but wow . . . eyes that big won't even fit into my Saint's eyeholes. Could the people you're referring to have modded their Saints, maybe?

It's interesting that everyone uses 14mm eyes, because the companies themselves seem to offer free 18mm eyes along with a purchased Saint.

He *used* to wear 16mm glass, and they were too big imo...

 

I have used 14mm and 12mm with my Saint and both fit. However, the look is very different with each size and I think that the choice between them depends on what you are looking for. I am aiming for realism and find that the 12mm achieve that rather better. I also found that my Soom silicone 14mm eyes had such a large paperweight that I could not position them effectively in the socket. The only option was for them to be dead centre, giving a rather starey look.

I don't know how clear you will be able to see the difference in these two rather ropey shots, but the one with the red background is with the 14mm Soom grays. The other one is with the 12mm Masterpiece Afghans.

Those are the same eyes I got with my SA Saint from Luts, yup yup yup. Now I'm sorry I sold them--I always regret my fits of efficiency . . .

I remember some of the other colors that were floating around in 2006: besides the two-tone gray, I know there were yellow/gray and orange/gray versions. The red is new to me--verrrrrrry interesting!

Not the fullest view imaginable, but here is Lyon, my Haute Hound, wearing the orange/gray:

 

My IM hound came with these eyes from eluts they are a beautiful purple but have almost no dome at all! I also found them too big for my boy but have found a home as the defaults for my Olivia.

 

i can't seem to find a thread thats about saint's eye
but i've seen some ppl saying 16mm eyes are too big for them even 14mm is too big and so i'm curious about the eye size and would like to take a look on them
i'd prefer purple/red/blue eyes but any colour is will do i'm planning on getting a saint so i'll need to know about the them

Daishiro (my DS Saint) has 13mm eyes and Jato (a DS Bernard) has 12mm. I think the smallest I have seen work successfuly in a Dollshe is 11mm- any smaller and you will start to see the putty. I think the smaller the eyes the more realistic because you see the white of the eye lke in real humans. For a dead look I think perhaps you need to think about colour rather than just size...?

My chap wears 12mm Masterpiece eyes as I prefer a mature, realistic look and smaller eyes give that. Masterpiece, like Eyeco, have larger whites for the iris size which enable you to go down to this size without having bits of eye putty showing at the edges.

You are welcome kori. The wrist restraints are from Moggies Toyshop. I am not sure if they are making stuff at the moment as they had a pretty rough time last year and are just getting themselves together again.

Dollmore don't go any smaller than 14mm, I'm afraid. The eyes you linked to are 16mm, so even bigger.

My SA Saint's worn both 16mm and 14mm...

In 16mm:

(They were really too big, but it worked for me because I didn't want his whites showing.)

14mm glass eyes from Dollmore:

(These don't fit as well as I'd hoped and I wish I could get the same eyes in 12mm, but they aren't a bad fit, either, especially considering his teeny eyes.)

Does anyone use the Dollshe urethanes in 12mm? I'm thinking of getting some but I've had a hard time finding sample pics.
