10+ Dolls and more...

Whee! I have exactly 10 dolls.

 

I guess it's still early to be saying this, but it's strange how (as of now) there seems to be an interesting gap between the 11-20 and 51-60.

And I only have one.

 

Eh heh... Well, I'm not at 50 yet, but I'm definitely headed in that direction. I just bought my 21st complete doll (a Soom Shoshon - whee!!). Throw in all my floating heads, and I'm probably looking at 30 when they get their own bodies.

...

...I need another house.

 

Do pukis and pipos Rooneys count as 1 each, or can you clump them together until they reach the mass of an SD and count as 1?

Just asking.....

 

Right now I have 15 full dolls + a set of Luts armor (I'll have to get a SSDF for that). I also have 1 doll and 2 Soom Epidos bodies (1 human & 1 centaur) on layaway.

My collection is large but still manageable at this point, mainly because 5 of my dolls are Soom Tiny Gems and one is an MSD size Iple House girl. I'm a bit worried about the future though. I've only been into BJDs for 3 years and my collection is already this big! What will my collection be like after 10 years?! Or 15 years?! I really need to start limiting myself to 1-2 dolls/ year!

 

I can never see myself owning more than maybe 5 (Puki's possibly not included in that ). I can't fathom people who have somewhere near 50.

Seriously, it blows my mind.

Somehow, because I was like this with Build-A-Bears, I can see somewhere near 20.

 

I noticed too late that the other poll was way old, so I'll quote myself from there . And voted 21-30 in this poll.

 

my resin mob is about to hit 10 properly tomorrow, so i guess as of this moment i'm only at 9. but if it wasn't for my resin ban to help me save for a trip i'd probably be waiting on more XD theres at least another 2 i'm disappointed i couldn't get before this ban. but they'll hopefully be worth the wait! i also should probably sort my current resin lot out better anyway.... got a few who need new wigs, outfits or mods/parts made.

and i always get told how i'd always said 'oh i only want one' XD yeah... i've learnt my lesson.

... And I just realized that I haven't bought anything doll-related this year. No dolls, no outfits, shoes, wigs or eyes. Is it really the end of the year already?

 

i've got like 21 dolls... my collection doesn't really look that big when i look at it but it's probably cause most of them are either tinys or sds

 

I suspect to have around 17 by the end of all of these christmas events... ^^;

 

I've recently welcomed my 11th home. It feels like a lot more as many have multiple heads. I don't forsee myself purchasing any more in the near future, but there are 2 heads without bodies (my school heads-1 girl C and one A waiting for a sdgr body. Eventually.). But then again Fairyland may just release a ltf pong pong.

 

I have a lot, but most of them will fit together in a small carry-on type suitcase. I bought my first one about seven years ago and I'm pretty close to finishing up my wishlist.

 

I just did a head count...there are currently 22 dolls at my house with another on the way. Strange, when I started the hobby I never expected to own more than 3.

 

I just have 3 as of now. With my current wishlist, I will probably have a total of 6 by 2012 is over. I wouldn't be surprised if I get close to 10 in 5 years.

 

Do we count dolls we are waiting for and planning to have as whole dolls? I was on around 15 before but sold quite a few to get my stunning fullset Soom Beryl and now have 9 at home, plus all the parts except the body for another Soom SG. I haven't managed to hold my resolve very well and have another 6 on order, plus am hoping to order a 7th. Part of the problem is that I buy one and then love that size and feel and have to get a little family, and then I realise how amazing a doll is in a totally different size, buy that, love that size, and have to get a family for them too! I do want to keep my collection manageable, and for that reason I really appreciate that BJDs hold their value so well.
So currently I have:
1x 10cm tiny (and 1 coming)
2x 16cm tinies
3x 26cm/Yo-SD size (and 1 coming)
0x 40-45cm MSD (but 3 coming, and another hoping to buy)
2+partsx 65-70cm (and 1 coming)

 

I have three now... plus a floating head.
I hope to get another two or three this year- all tinies, probably.
I'm guessing I'll have at least 10 or 15 within the next five years, but who knows?

 

Counting just my dolls there are 9 plus 1 head and 1 head on the way. I will have bodies for those heads hopefully by the end of this year (assuming things go ok for us financially speaking). I am trying not to beg for another doll from hubby because I really want to work on my tattoo. I have been working on my sleeve for 3 years now and it is well past time to finish it.

That does not count all of the dolls in our house however. My hubby owns 3 dolls of his own and would like at least one more (he has his eye on a Soul Doll Hewer). My oldest son received his first doll for his birthday and recently purchased a second from me on layaway (very slow layaway). My youngest son also received his first doll for his birthday last year. So all told there are actually 15 dolls and 1 floating head in our house (plus a floating head I am in the process of selling) plus one floating head on its way home to me.

 

I only have 5 myself, but can easily see having 20+ in the future when I am have a little bit more room (ie have enough space to devote a room only to dolls). I mainly wanted post here so I could oggle the fact that someone has over 60 BJD's out there. It boggles my mind!

I want to see someone with over 100! With pictures!

 

Lol I am heading towards the 10 dolls, I am on 9 (but there will probably be more dolls in the future). I have:

3X - 70CM dolls,
3X - MSD,
2X - Yo-SD,
1X - puki.

 

At the moment I am in the 11-20 range. At one point I had about 32, I think. It was way too many.

 

I am currently have 30 dolls and expecting another one shortly. I also have two floating heads that I expect to get bodies for before the end of 2011.

 

update: I just hit 10 dolls today, by ordering a new body for my last floating head.

 

I have twelve right now. I plan on getting more of course....

 

I have 2 right now, and I ordered my 3rd one this morning

 

As of today I have 25, with one on the way and plans for 3 more. I'll try to keep it under 30, lol!

 

I've got ten. There are plans for more, but not for a few years. I'm sure my plans will change with time, too.

 

I have one now... plus a floating head~ a body and other doll is on the way home!!

I'm waiting the other two dolls to be re-release, I guess I can have maybe <5 dolls? Under my parents tolerant…

 

I only have 3 myself (not counting my hujoo suve)
I only plan to get one more, a pipos charlotte!




*EDIT* as of 1/4/2012: I now have 12 dolls. including the one thats on the way. WHAT THE HECK did I feed them after midnight or something!?

 

LOL! Well, I have no upper limit on the # of dolls I will own. Right now I'm transitioning, selling off a few to prepare for buying others so at the moment i may be down a few but they will be replaced!

 

Right now, I have 37 DD (plus 1 floating head) s, 3 SSDFs, and 1 SDG. I share my collection with my best friend/roommate, so it's one reason why there are so many. Right now there aren't any plans for any others, but nothing is ever set in stone.

Space is getting kind of hard to come by nowadays, though...^^;

 

I've been in the hobby, what, nearly 2 years? (feels waaay shorter) and I have 5 dolls and a floating head- all SDs. I acquire dolls at a rate of knots ^^; however, I only paid full price for one of them. The rest were bargains I got by hybridizing and buying second hand. So I reckon I'm doing all right! Though I'm going to slow down now, and wait until something REALLY grabs me before I buy again

 

I have 21 BJD's and over 1000 dolls total...But this is 30 years of collecting and inheriting collections. Luckily I have a big house too.
Though I have been selling my vintage collection to fund my bjd habit...gasp.

 

At the time I voted on the poll, I was at 19 dolls. Since then, I've been in the process of acquiring 5 more, but I do believe I will be stopping at 24.

I have collecting for less than 2 years . When I first discovered the hobby , I told myself that I whant to have at least 30 dolls one day xD . That has since wore off , but I can still picture myself having at least 20 dolls sometime in the future.

 

I included dolls on the way, but aren't in hand yet and chose 11-20. The break down:

The girls:

1 x tiny

Floating heads:

Well...if you just count the list in my profile, it says 33 as of right now. Next week I'm getting three in. (two SD twins and a head). However, I do have a fair number of heads and tinies that hardly count at all. So I like to think I only have maybe 25 at most. haha

I do have plans to stop. Sooner than later. But there are a handful I have to get first, in my wishlist (the ones with names by them) and then I'll be set and can start buying them all clothes and fun stuff.

 

I wondered if floating heads or floating bodies count?

 

I have 6 complete dolls (3 Super Gems, 2 Teenie Gems and a Pipos Pi). I have 3 more on their way to me (all 3 Super Gems), and I'm trying to scrounge up the funds for a 4th - that would bring me up to exactly 10 full dolls. I also have 9 floating heads (4 Super Gems, 3 Teenie Gems and 2 Pipos R Pi).

I never thought I'd end up with this many dolls, so I can certainly see things growing in the future. I'm going to have to start limiting things soon though, because 10 dolls are already going to take up almost all of my spare space!

 

I've included those on the way, which puts me in the 11-20 range.

its interesting to see such large collections. at home i have 19 currently, only 1 incoming, but another 3 tinies planned before the end of this year.

after re-reading my post i realized I told myself i would never have floating heads when i started this hobby and never understood why people had them ... damn

 

I've downsized my collection and currently 'only' own 10 dolls. However, no floating heads (for the first time in forever!) :3

 

I currently have 16 full dolls and 4 heads

Though 1 head, 1 full doll and 3 bodies are for sale so that leaves 12 full dolls and 6 heads that are really mine :B

Plus, there is my sisters BJD somehwere....

I hope that I will never exceed twenty. =_= Won't be able to play with them properly, and there's really no point keeping them around if I can't play with them?

 

10 full 65cm dolls. Im at exactly 10 now and I do not see myself going past 13 dolls this year. Neither will it drop below current number cos I do not see myself selling any of my current crew. As of now, i only have plans to get 1 more doll this year. The additional 2 is just part of a contingency plan. Lol

2 full SDs and 1 SD floating head. I'm saving for his body though. I don't know how big my collection would be next time, but at the rate I'm getting them (around 1 per year), it probably won't even get into 20+ range, which I also hope it won't. Cos I won't have enough space, and I don't think I'll be able to play with them all properly.
