I happened to come across this video about how Dior dealt with creating fashion show during the pandemic using miniatures. The models measure up to 40 cm and the designers discuss the difference in sewing the fabrics at that scale. I thought if anyone would be interested to see this, it would be DOA
such a cool watch from the beginning to the end! it'd be so amazing if these could be seen worn on actual bjds thank you for sharing!
A fun version of history repeating. In 1945 post-war France, Parisian couture houses worked around supply shortages by dressing up 1:3 scale wire mannequins. Over 50 houses got involved, adorning these Theatre de la Mode dolls from wig to shoe.
I wonder, did they sell those miniatures afterwards? It would likely be expensive but I think it would be cool to see some BJDs somewhere wearing a few of the outfits!
I don't believe they've been sold, but they have been put on display at House Dior in a diorama which you can see here (5:37):
I have been to this exhibit at Mary Moore Museum. It is so detailed and fun to see. Gloves, hats, shoes, every tiny detail. I wish you could get closer to look, as my old eyes fail me at times.
