Remembering that song "You touched my tralala~ My ding ding dong~!" :P 'Nyhow, those legs, the nerves!! The details! THE FEET! they are so nice, I'm speechless.
I have never heard of the song so I had to look it up. Thanks for the compliment, InNoTeb. I still got more to do on the legs. Hopefully I can finish his whole legs this weekend.
Long time, folks. I have been away from this project as I got other things I had to take care of. But decided to come back to it yesterday. Since the head was hollowed out, I figured I should get sculpted eyes out and put hand made doll eyes in there. I attempted to make eyeballs with painted wooden balls. They did not turn out good for ma 1/4 bjd at all. Right now it has 1/4” ball bearings for eyes so that I can sculpt around them. Re-sculpted the head bit. Noticed at lot of places needed to be fixed....Cleaned back of the torso and working on his thighs now
Apparently it's Back from Hiatus time for everybody! Geezus man, he looks amazing. I don't have any nitpicks or anything, just massive amounts of awe.
Yay! I was wondering what happened Nice to see you back and working. He's missing his junk, poor think
Thanks for the kind words, HystericalParoxysm. How is your studio coming along? All done? You promised pictures of it when it is done so I am looking forward to seeing them soon. I appreciate the sweet comment, Morgan Are you switching completely to Zbrush? no wax? Just curious. You know he has two junks, InNoTeb You have seen them... I am planning to put some more hours in him as my day labor job is drying out.
I have not forgotten about this project. In fact, I have been putting a few hours on this everyday. I just don’t have much progress to show. I started to dislike slightly extended arms so took about 12mm off and trying to settle on somewhat neutral muscle definition on forearm - yep muscles on forearm change quite bit depending on the wrist.- While working on them, I accidentally dropped the lower body. It cracked right where I weld it. Figured it was a sign that I need to re-sculpt the part.
Aw man, that sucks... hope the resculpting goes well! Right now I'm sculpting 100% digitally -- Maya + zBrush, although I'm also trying out a program called 3D Coat. I do kinda miss wax... but not the resin casting that's necessary to make a master from it.
Re-sculpting was going well. Thanks, Morgan But I got other things I need to work on so this guy is on back burner again. I wish I have strong will to study those 3D sculpting programs like you guys. I get irritated easy when it comes to computer stuff.... Hehe I have never met a person really love doing resin casting. Maybe that is why the service is expensive.
Your sculpt is great. Your are very talented. Thanks for sharing. Hope you will be able to get back to it. Good job.
heheehe I like doing resin casting but not the previous work, it's so tedious! I suppose that this previous work is the expensive service (and the materials of course). Great job Switchum, I hope you finish it soon
Wow....This is just amazing. The detail in the body, the expression in his face--I love how muscular he is, and can't stop staring at his arms, and how well the joints fit in. I look forward to seeing more of this guy
Thanks, Sephie Doll! So you provide casting service? I did some as a job and I hated it. Also develped allergic reaction to resin. Thanks for the compliment and encouragement. I appreciate the very kind words to my work, theillidari! Yeah I like to finish him sometime this year, but I get sucked in day jobs and freelance sculpting.... I will try to puit some hours every week from now on...
