Sadly that i dont knowI dont have heel feet for her, though i plan on getting some in the near future. Just gotta find a good match.

 

@sunnysailor - I goofed when I placed my order for FeiHuaDeng (who's still on her way) and forgot to add high heel legs - for some reason I read it in such a way that I thought they came with her fullset, but I plan to remedy this with my next order from Telesthesia. In the meantime though, I'm probably going to order 1-2 pairs of shoes - will post pics / commentary on how they fit when I do!

 

My FeiHuaDeng has only flat feet, and I had to fight normal SD shoes onto her feet... but they are on and staying on. I’m still waiting on the replacement hand and the right bust

 

@NamelessPierrot Congratulations on your Wei Yue Jin SP! I am horrible at identifying skin tones based on photos, but is yours white skin? I actually got a pink skin head for myself, but before that I'd been waffling between white and pink. My dealer said pink was close to Volks normal so I went with pink, but does anyone have any idea if this is true?

 

@fionvarre He's white skin, yep! The lighting in that pict is a bit yellow, he's whiter in person
I've never had any of the pink skin ones from them, though, so I'm not sure how it compares

 

@NamelessPierrot to be honest white skin dolls scare me, but that might be because the first white skin dolls I saw were my friend's Charmdoll and Loongsoul. TD white seems a bit creamier, but I think in some lighting it might still end up looking like CD/LS white.

@NamelessPierrot So I just realized since you have Wei in now. Any chance you could try out eye sizes on him? That would be amazing! I generally assumed 14mm as a start but some dolls are kind of odd with sizes. His eyes shape def throw me off on that regard. I'm honestly wondering if ordered the right eye size for the poor guy lol.

@NamelessPierrot - that would be awesome! I'll be (eventually) ordering a different version of him, but it looks like T&D has 14mm listed for nearly all of their 70cm range dolls, so I'd love to see how different eyes look.

@Nissa Yep they listed 14mm but its always good to see what other sizes and iris size would look like as well since some dolls do better with certain eyes and it'd take experimenting to figure it out (kind of expensive experimenting though). I actually have a 14 small iris on order for him and it now just dawned on me to figure out what actually might look good with him.

 

@Pooki @Nissa I dropped them in an instagram post so to not flood here with several large images
I noticed that his eye wells are...Almost non-existent, and his eyes are honestly a little weirdly shaped so all my eyes fit a bit awkwardly. I tried 16mm glass, 14mm glass, and a pair of 12mm resin eyes. 12mms gap pretty bad and the iris on mine are honestly really huge?

Thank you so much! the eyes seem a lot wider then I expected so theres quite a bit of gapping. It also might be because of the shallow eye wells. So low dome might be the way to go. I guess for now i might of made a good guess for the eyes for now. 16mm maybe with smaller iris's to cover the gapping with low dome. it might be a expensive experiment at this case lol

 

Yeah, they're definitely weird. I like the fit of the 16s best but I want smaller irises than that so I'm a bit torn now on which way to go
I'm honestly glad you asked! I actually was thinking of ordering his eyes soon and didn't even think to double check sizes until this, I normally go one size down so I was gonna order 12s and I'm so glad I didn't yet

 

Makes me wonder if its possible to get 16's with two size smaller iris's like what a 14 small iris would be. if thats the case. the eyes im expecting might not even work for my Wei I shall start inquiring into my eye maker I have lol

 

Teh almost non-existent eye wells my be a Telesthesia thing. My boy's eyes are 14mm and they're tough to get in and keep in in. Adjusting their direction is hard too. I've considered deepening his eye wells a bit with a Dremel tool but I'm afraid He's a Qing Niu Sheng named Ulli. Cue unnecessary spam:

Anyone know if they sell heel feet separately outside of events? I really want a pair for my girl. Shes originally white skin, but has yellowed so I think it'll be really hard to find a good color match.

 

Hello there Today I found a beautiful boy Junxi and now I have some question needing answering.
Do you know if it's possible to order just a head?
Do any of you have a comparison with Dollzone resin? I need to find a match in any natural color (white, normal, peach...).

 

So I ordered a pair of boots for my Lan Yujin... they were 1/3 size and inner length of 8.5... still didn't fit my boy! Should probably get 70 cm sized ones next time...

Which SD body are you asking about? I have the 65cm body with the large bust, and she's just a little slimmer than SID, but can fit some SID clothing. I have a large SD skirt on her, and a SID corset. If you need pictures of different sized clothes on her, just let me know!

Well I just placed an order with AC for Xunyichao, 65cm Telesthesia Girl in tan skin, face-up and high heel feet. I’m in for a long wait according to the what I’ve read in the waiting room so I think I will be seeing her next year.

Elyra swapped wigs with a doll of mine that is OT for this thread. So now she has long hair!

I also didn't really like how the wig sat at first, but then I braided it, and now I love it on her

I love that the braids hide her human ears

 

I’m loving this look on her! That tan is lovely! I still can’t believe this is the same sculpt, the face up TD gave her did absolutely no justice at all! She is definitely on my wishlist.

I have a newbie question for all you experienced TD owners ^^; As you might have read, I literally just received my guy. I've only handled him very lightly so far (dressing him up in an outfit, sitting him down in a regular sitting position or laying him flat - no crazy posing so far or heavily carrying him around xD)

I did notice though that he already has some pretty intense wear around his joints and also on top of his thighs (top two photos below) It's basically everywhere that resin is rubbing against resin that it leaves shiny marks (I wouldn't even say deep scratches). There's also a teeny weeny chip on the buttom of his torso, where I didn't even move him yet (bottom photo).

As this is my first full doll, I literally have no comparison doll body to say if this is normal or not. Is this how resin usually works? Or is TD's resin particularily delicate?

I'm not terribly bothered by it so far, as I'm the type that does like to interact with their dolls, so I guess they will all show signs of wear at some point. But it's just making me a bit hesitant right now to handle him because I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong >.< Any input would be very much appreciated~

 

I don't own a Telesthesia doll or body (yet?) but I own a few BJD from other companies, for quite a few years now, so I can safely say that it is common to see wear at the joints. You are not doing anything wrong, so don't worry. It seems like the hip socket for the thigh joint is very tight on the body you have there, so that's probably why you're seeing friction marks on the upper thigh so soon. There are some silicone discs used to aid in posing, but maybe they'll help in softening the hard resin rubbing against another part. However, considering how tight that socket looks, I'm not sure it will make it harder to move/pose the leg. The silicone discs might help on the upper-hip joint where it meets with the mid-torso. You might want to lightly sand the chipped area, so that it doesn't get bigger with constant friction. Good luck. (:

Would you have any recommendation on what kind of sanding paper to use for sanding? And is there anything I will have to pay attention to in order not to damage the affected part? Please excuse all these questions >.<

 

No problem, I am glad to be able to help people, whenever I am able to. (:

I would suggest to start with the highest grit/fine sand paper first (like 600 and finish with something much higher like 1000), and definitely use one that is waterproof, so you can sand the piece underwater for safety. You don't want resin dust flying everywhere, and wear a dust mask as well. You can usually tell if a doll is too tight if it makes a lot of squeaky sounds, or feels super tight when you're trying to pose them. However, some people like their dolls to be tighter and some like them looser, because of posing working best if they are tighter but not too tight. It depends, but as long as there's no damage left it shouldn't really be a problem. I would suggest to check inside the hip joint for areas that maybe too sharp inside the hip joint and sand those smooth or flush to the rest if there are any -- unless they are locking pieces, but they still shouldn't be sharp. "Sueding" that area with either silicone discs or moleskin should also help prevent further damage, because there will be no more rubbing of resin against resin, the "sueding" piece would act as a cushion. I never used any of those on my own dolls because I don't play or pose them that much to need added support but I have sanded chips on knees and elbows. I don't know which brands to recommend for sueding, but I have hear people making their own silicone pieces out of hot glue -- and I'm guessing moleskin can be found anywhere (don't know if it's called that everywhere, but it's like a cotton fabric with adhesive usually used as bandages). You can also ask in the Customization and Maintenance section, if you're still unsure about something. There's always people willing to help over there, and probably more knowledgeable than me when it comes to sueding. Hope that helps. (:

 

I was going to suggest sueding, it will act like a barrier btw the joints and it will soften the rubbing.

I'm super scared to restring him since I obviously have no idea about it but I guess that'll be the best thing to do and also add silicone discs or sueding while I'm at it ^^ Agh, I'm scared xD

 

Restringing a doll seems very scary at first, but after you try it for the first time it'll become relatively easy over time. I think the only doll I haven't restrung of mine is one that has hooks on his calves, half way in channels smaller than a normal drinking straw. I'll have to do it someday when it's time to redo his body blush, but he kind of needs a manual to be restrung so I want to wait for as long as possible. Other BJD are normally more straightforward to string, and there seems to be a lot of videos about it on YouTube nowadays. Good luck, and don't be scared to ask if you need any help! There's a lot of knowledgeable people on the sub-forum I already linked to before, and a few tutorials as well. (:

Hello! Does anyone have a Telesthesia Albert? I'm seriously considering getting him during the event but have not found a single mention of him anywhere outside of his sales listings. I'd love to see him out in the wild, if anyone has a pic or three to share.

I'm also hoping that somebody can show me the difference between the light tan and dark tan options, or if Pooki can tell me which tan their gorgeous Wei Yue Jin is?
