Omg yes!! That's just what it looks like. I was trying to figure it out last night.
I'm going to try and trim it so it's a "nice" beard....hopefully it works the way I want it to.

I literally want to make up a character who looks like this now so I can have another beard doll.

 

I think he could use some braids in that beard, with some beads.

I am watching the series Black Sails right now. Captain Blackbeard has a lovely curly dark beard. Plus the braids and beads that Lucky mentioned.

I received my Granado Captain Remiel a day or so before Christmas. I can’t figure out how to post pictures from my iPhone, but I am able to put pics in the profile page if anyone would be interested in seeing him?

I asked them for a custom color, midway between Tan and Bronze, after seeing them do it for another customer, and they did it for me. I don't know what all is required but yes, they do it.

Hey I have a bit of a conundrum on my hands. I'm need some small iris eyes for Logan, my Uriel. The current 12mm are just too big for his, they look weird.

The pupils and iris's take up his whole eye and he doesn't look quite human.
I can't find any plain brown small iris eyes. Should I aim for a smaller size instead?

 

Look into Souldoll eyes. They have smaller iris's.

 

Some places have small iris eyes, but they really seem uncommon as far as colors and varieties go. Alice’s Collections has some mixed in with others. And some other dealers have the same.

The narrow eyed guys seem to really need the small iris ones.

Edit: I found a store on etsy that has some, but I don’t know if you like acrylics or what kind of quality they are.

Beetle eyes come in brown and amber small iris.

 

On the subject of eyes, has anyone just beveled them out? I feel like part of the problem in seeing them is they're so far back! I keep meaning to try it, but I'm kind of chicken D:
The only one I don't have a problem with is the sV-05 but his eyes are giant lol

 

I don't remember exactly (terrible memory probs) but I think I did bevel V-07 eyes a bit since I got the nightmare head they were so tiny anyway that I did remove some of the inner eyelid. It didn't change the eye size but helped to see them.

 

I swear by the Doll Bakery 12mm SI (small iris) eyes, but they can be tricky to get. Ordering periods have been kind of iffy lately.

 

I really should try to be more active in this thread since I've pretty much been spamming my Granado Michael everywhere else. ^_^

Anyhow, I have a 12mm pair of eyes with 5mm irises from Silent Paradise that I'm due to pick up from the P.O. hopefully this week. I'll post pictures when I do. Guórén is currently wearing Candy Kitten's Emporium eyes that I requested to be custom-sized as 12/5, and they fit fine (Linny's eyes are also low-dome, which is a bonus for the narrow-eyed guys).

I'm rather tempted to bevel out the inside if Iwan's eyes, but there's something about the sudden flash of his eyes in the right light that makes him all the more sinister. Both Claudio and Jin have eyes I handmade with 4 mm pupils so they sit quite well.

Thank you, @Alewife ! I can't believe I forgot about Beetles! They're one of the few small-iris options that are glass. Hopefully I can add some one day to the eye hoard.

 

I know the feeling @Alewife I saw the green eyes I wanted and couldn't get this summer. I may be making a binge buy myself.

With the difficulty of getting the right iris size for the newer Granado boys, I'm turning into an eye binger myself. If my recent eye purchases fall through I may actually give Beetles a try *whisperwhisper*.

 

Does anyone have comparison photos between the dollshe 28M line and granado evol/embody?
I’ve been trying to see how they compare but google hasn’t turned up much for me

Hi, I have what may be a silly question, but if Granado has "Sold Out" on their website and is not currently accepting orders, will an order placed through Legend Doll or Dolks be possible? Or will it just wait until Granado is taking orders again? Thank you!

You can place an order through Legend Doll and the Granado Taobao store (and possibly Dolk) and they will fill it. It’s some sort of special relationship between Granado and their dealers. (I think the Taobao policy is to help Chinese buyers.)

Hah! I am trying to be good, as well. I'm not a huge fan of the Evol body, though, so I am probably limited to those I can get without it. I'm also looking at Dollshe and Souldoll; I have a Souldoll Hillda on the way, and this new guy will go with her story. I've got a name already, but I have to find the doll that claims the name!

BTW, I switched the Dollshe feet to smaller feet so he could wear the shoes I have. That's why his feet are yellow in the nude pics.

 

Is anyone else watching the progress pictures of the new body? It sounds like they are leaning towards 70cm, but I'd love a 60cm body for some variation. Either way, slimmer guy in progress!

 

I look at the progress shots every once in a while on both FB and Flickr. They describe it as "ripped" (as if their other bodies ain't ripped to begin with lol), but it's definitely looking slimmer esp. from the side view.

They said it is leaner, not as beefy as the current bodies. So I'm thinking more like the original 68cm body. Would be nice! I'm really curious about the weird joints in the butt XD

 

Oooh that would be so good! I've found my favourite "replacements" for the old 68cm scale bodies (both the actual 68 and the Nuevo), but I'd still love to see something similar from Granado again. Carlos (Uranus Nuevo) is one of my best posers, I'd love to be able to get more of his sort. (Plus I'd have a reason to buy full Granadudes )

I am verrry curious about the new slimmer body! YAY! I know others have hoped it's a 60cm, but I hope it's 66 or 68cm, somewhere around there. *bounces*

 

They just put up a chest shot. Thankfully they did add the nipples. Also, he has a very slim waist!

Yeah, unobtrusive nipples are fine. It would look weird on realistic bod to not have them. :3

Is it just me or the waist kinda looks a bit too narrow for the shoulders? That may just be me though -- the pictures are really emphasizing the V shape of the torso from the front.

 

I'm quite liking what I'm seeing so far.
And I know I said I wanted the Embody for my Neptune/Michael heads...but now I'm leaning toward the Evol again. Not like I can even afford a body for them just yet.

 

@AntarelNefertili Thank you! I thought that was just me! It seems to just be that one shot from the front, making the waist look positively tiny. Everything else looks YUM!
My Dark Lord Enoch is arriving shortly too! Blank and all, but yay!

 

I kept asking questions about the new body but they are very secretive about it
They are still unsure on the actual size it'll be, so all we can do is hope it'll fit our desires ><

Let's see what they currently offer:
77.5cm Titan
70cm Evol & Embody (plus the vindoll)
66.5cm Lads
46cm b.mini

To my own disappointment, I doubt very much it'll be another 70cm.
So my guess is that it'll be either a replacement for the Lads, or the return of a 68cm.

 

The EVOL also have wide shoulders and a narrow waist when you think about it...

@aernath Yep, we ought to reserve our judgment until more photos turn up -- he may not be as Johnny Bravo as we think he is. And wow, Dark Lord Enoch! Looking forward to arrival photos.

@Lawrichai Ah yes of course, all those bulging shoulder muscles (you really outdo yourself with the costumes, BTW -- awesome!). ^_^; I was hoping they'd tone down the proportions for the new body, since they did say they wanted something less beefier. Let's see what the future previews will show.

On a side note, that ain't his usual hair. I was shaking out one of my other doll's spare wigs and tried one on him for a whim. Turns out he rocks it more than she ever could. XD Now I'd just have to find a color that matches his eyebrows.

 

I love the back of the new body, and that side profile as well.

Dark Lord Enoch (and Gabriel head in tan) arrived on Thursday. I think the new shipping service confused out postal peeps, and the box was actually left on our doorstep! Since I work twelve hours shifts, I had no time to play with him until this morning. This emo body has a lot of those grippy dots for holding poses better! Kind of nice, kind of ...not. One popped out of his chest joint. I just put it back in, no worries. But wow, they're everywhere. So then I started looking at an evol body, and I didn't realize there were a few in it as well! I
(What Have I been looking at?! lol)

Wish I could've gotten Sariel, but shot my wad on DL. Hopefully there will be another sale later on.

Everyone good luck with the photo contest! I'm busy thinking what to do/try.

@aernath - Eeee! I want to see! I've got to admit I really think I've fallen for Enoch after spending so much time denying it. And Dark Lord Enoch...oh man. Everyone's just going to have to spam all the pretty pictures for me now.

@Lawrichai - I do have an idea for the contest this year, and once again it requires me to get off my butt and work on other dolls too, but this year...if all goes to plan I might be able to include all my Granado guys!

@Quiet and Insane Thank you! It's a good thing For My Doll has a similar wig that's grayish salt and pepper; I'll probably buy/make one in the future just so the eyebrow-hair color is made similar.

While I have half a mind of what I'd want to try for the photo contest, I'm not too sure if I'll push through. ^_^; I wasn't able to join the last contest because my boy wasn't fully assembled then.
