@Jany - Look, despite the fact he's totally crazy he's pretty entertaining.
The Evol/Embody jointed hands are much bigger than the old ones. I saw a comparison...somewhere. I'll find it again eventually.

@Lawrichai - I hear you about the head swapping thing. Good thing I planned that all the guys who swap heads are from different universes so they never meet each other anyway. Speaking of which, I promised my poor Neptune/Michael heads an Embody in tan this year. Doubt it'll happen next year either. Poor floaters...

@Alewife - Look I'd prefer to keep all my fingers intact if I can help it.

Okay, turns out that custom color does not count for the event. In that case, I'll go back to saving slowly, I guess.

Granado lads with a Snowborn head. Lads body is from 2015 though so I'm not sure if they've changed their version of grey since then?

The syringa has changed since then. I believe it is more purple now. There is a comparison pic of the two together somewhere but I haven't found it yet.

 

Ah, darn. I only have the one body in Syringa. And also only one grey DC thing. I wonder if you could ask for the old Syringa?

 

More purple you say... that might be a halfway decent match for a Lillycat Lyse head I've got floating around. It's the prettiest purplish-gray and I've been pretty stumped about finding her a remotely matching body. Does anyone have any comparison pictures of the two resins?

The old grey was Asura and it was a lot more pure grey. Syringa is a lilac grey color.
P.S. I am really tempted by Sariel.

 

@LuckyXIII - Ah! Wow. It really is purple! I didn't realize it had changed that much. I forgot the name was different too.

Hello, everyone! I've made my way over to Granado now, and I'm kind of laughing to myself because Sariel, Gabriel, and maybe Michael are perfect sculpts for some of my characters. XD I think I may have to go the hybrid route, though, because those bodies are sooooo expensive. For those who have hybrided Granado heads, what bodies do you recommend?

Also, I just need to get this off my chest. DANG Granado makes pretty boys. XD (I'm late to the party, I know.)

 

LOL, welcome to the club. I have Granado's on Ringdoll RMG-03 and on Dollshe old pure body, they look nice on Dollmore glamor model and Mirodoll 68cm.

 

All my Granado heads are hybrids:
Hansel: RGM04
Pancho: RGM03
V05: Dollstown 17yr
V08: Miro 66

And I have Jupiter who is waiting on an Impldoll Star man body....which will hopefully work out *crosses all fingers and toes*

Because I literally took some of my hansel the other day



I'm hoping the weather will cooperate soon so I can give him a makeover....

 

All my post-Nuevo Granadudes are hybrids. Mine are on Miro 60cm (Vipo07 - 68 works too as the shoulders are the same; 66 has a more slender build and *may* look slightly out of proportion for a bigger head), AprilStory Senior (Enoch - discontinued now ) and IoS Class 70 (Uriel) which is actually 67ish cm. Granado heads hybrid beautifully.

 

Hello! May I ask, does anyone know how Granado's current white resin compares with Volks' current white resin? Thank you!

 

Thanks for the names, everybody! I see Ringdoll bodies are popular. There was a body in particular I was looking at though. Has anyone here tried Popodoll bodies with Granado heads? I was looking at them since they were a bit cheaper (and there seems to be a sale on them right now at Alice's Collections).

 

My Charles is on Poppdoll 70cm body. He is slender and tall.

Oh he's very pleased! He even got a working microscope! I'm yet to try it with any of my slides, but I'm just about as excited as he is. I will admit that it is a little too small, probably more YoSD sized, but I can deal with that.

Impldoll sent the body I'd ordered with no notice so my Jupiter is a real doll now. The body takes a little fiddling to get right (different stringing is needed for sure), but it's a great hybrid option for someone wanting a buff, yet shorter (and less expensive) option. The proportions are really nice. However, I would not get real skin if you want a decent resin match, I'd go with NSP. Mine looks like a WS head on a NS body XDD

So here he is! I only have a few, and they're all closeups of the head for some reason lol but you can at least sort of see proportion and really see the horrible resin match XD
I sort of put Jupiter away after getting him since he had no body, so this was my first time really looking at him. He's a lot prettier than I was expecting. I really like his mouth and nose.

 

I was gonna say - wow he's handsome! What are your plans for him?

 

Well, first he'll get blushed to match (lol) and he's going to have black hair and a beard and I need to age him up some. So while i can't do faceups thanks to the weather, I may practice putting a beard on him. Which is kind of scary. Then I have to find somewhere to get him a suit that fits. His arms and shoulders are huge, nothing I have under Iplehouse EID size comes close to fitting and EID's have too big a neck so I didn't bother trying on those clothes. I'm hoping SID will fit....or clothes are going to be a huge issue.

But anyway he's the first OC I've put together since I got John (ringdoll K) so it's been a while! I've put a lot of thought into his doll incarnation...I hope he works out.

@Quiet and Insane It is a lovely color and he seems proud of his acquisition. I was thinking bubblegum pink but this is more purple, and it is a good size though.

@Lawrichai - And it works too! The lens can be rotated, and focused, and there's a little light! I want to try it with one of my old slides from uni.
I'm excited for the photo contest as always. I like the idea of categories! I just wish I could show off my Neptune and Michael. Poor Claudio and Jin are still waiting on a body....and their wait just got even longer because fiance and I just bought a house. So no dolls for a while for me.

@SteamWitch - It's sort of a hot pinky-purple, I'll be repainting it and "antiquing" it eventually though.

I also got the bust with him since I could not swing a full doll on layaway at the time. At least that way I can have him out and he won't take up much room. Is is the same character as my other Enoch (Adam) just the after death/vampire version. I can't wait to see the grey skin color in person.

Since I've never done facial hair that isn't drawn on, I thought I'd start practicing before he gets a faceup and I have to do it for real. the final product shouldn't look anything like this, but it's fun to play with! This is my Jupiter btw

I saw they did a custom black Neptune (think it was him) for a customer not long ago...

 

I asked and if I understood them correctly, I could get custom color without being a VIP.

 

I think the beard looks great. He could be Captain Blackbeard.
