Badass or not, I love the look of your Ghost.

 

@Jany just ask-- I keep being surprised how often the answer is "yes" especially if you are just buying something that isn't too hard to create.

Awwww, thanks you guys! I think Yuan-mdx's Sergei is more the ultimate badass. My boys just keep coming up short.
I'll have to work on Ghost's story, but I feel it's filled with pain.

Okay, pix as promised! And yes, I wasn't imagining it, the resin is definitely darker. My titan Awin came home darker than my Nico head, but not much. And usually Sunshine resin starts out dark but then lightens over time.
This... I don't know. It's muuuuch darker. Not that it's BAD!!! It's just not at all what I've come to expect when I order Sunshine. I had hoped to do some headswapping. haha. Oh well.
I have to admit, fishcake, you were completely right, this Lads Plus body is a very nice poser! Well made and feels nice!

Uranus on the 68cm body (on the right) as I don't have a 64cm in the house. I gravitate towards the big guys.
And because all the bits were there, I put the Andrew head on the Lads Plus body (on the left).

Again, not a bad color, just... it's obvious the resin colors have been changed. Just like someone's (Ara?) tan/bronze they got earlier this year. This Sunshine definitely looks more like the old bronze than sunshine.
Good thing we know they'll resin match if we keep the creation date of the doll bit we need matched!

 

@aernath: this is so helpful for me. for some reason, I thought of the Lads as being smaller, not quite big enough for the mature heads. It looks very nice with any head. cool. I can see another Granado (with body) in my future.

 

Thanks! I wasn't convinced either, until I had him in hand (I was sure it would be too small.). It's a nice little body. A great counterpoint for the 64/68cm. That I really miss. I liked that 68cm body. *sniffle*

 

Me too--I managed to snag a second hand one, but I would not say no to another one if Granado did an event with them...

Also, I found an inexpensive, folding telescope from St. Lunatic on ebay!

Just skipping by quickly to let you know that Granado has stated a question which mold we'd like to see for evol-body, accompanied by a picture of the Lads, Evol and Titan body next to each other.

Oooh. @aernath- that may not be quite the sunshine colour you were expecting but it is awfully pretty. Strange to see such a variation though. It does look more like bronze but their bronze isn't as red to my eye. Still lovely. And the Lads body is really nice. I'd like to get another one.

Were you going to put him on the Lads Plus body? That would suit him well.

yuan_mdx - Thanks! My Uranus actually came on the Lads Plus body. I was hoping to swap it out for the 68cm from one of my other boys, but the resin color is too different.
Turns out, he looks okay on the Lads Plus. I thought it would be far too small.

Wow... Uranus on the Evol body? I hope they don't do that any time soon! And I kind of hope Neptune ends up butt-ugly. But the odds of that are pretty slim.
I was thinking maybe folks might like Awin or Nico on the Evol body. I remember people wanting those heads on a smaller body (myself included, until I got them and a titan body to put them on!).

Fishcake - that spyglass is perfect! It really works too. I have one, and couldn't resist looking through it...

But Nico would be great too, I love the Titan face sculpts, but the body is just too big. I like my 70cm guys.

 

WoW, @aernath thank you so much for the pictures! It's a bit of a revelation, I thought the 68cm body would be bigger overall...especially in the chest-shoulder area, but from the front, it actually seems slimmer than the Lads! O.O

Hum, I was playing with the idea of putting my Uranus on a 68cm body, but I'm not so sure now...

@fishcake - That's a really nifty telescope! Jack looks like he's not letting anyone near his new toy XDDD

 

Smaug thank you (and everyone else who liked Jack's telescope), He's still gripping it--it really is the perfect size for him. I suppose I will have to make some for the bigger guys!

Uranus looks like he will be awesome on the Evol--I love how that body looks, but I have realized that me and anyone over 68 just look at each other--they are too big for me to lift and carry around. Still, I love looking at other people's big guys.

 

Personally I wish there was something like the Lads body but at 62-61 cm. All these 68+ boys are too big for my collection where only the tallest are 68-70cm.

I have a guy who is 60cm flat and he represents a 5'6" character, so my 63-65cm dolls appear more like 6 foot something. I have only one guy who is 72cm, which makes him look like he's 6' 9" or 10", and his story is that he's just super tall- a modern doctor would say he has a slight growth anomaly.

Also, actual conversations I have had:
Me "Oh, women especially love trading tips on how to get blood outta stuff. We gotta be experts."
Guy: "What?? WHY??"
Me: "think very carefully about it."
Guy "Wha..?
Me: "You had sexual education classes as a kid, yes? You know certain things about women?"
Guy: "ooooooohhhhhh...."

I intended to get him in normal skin, thought I'd prefer a color that is between ns and tan :3 Maybe by the time they'll release Uranus there will be a middle color? Or maybe tan will whoo me over again. Nihlus IS darn handsome and I felt in love with tan right away when they released it after all XD

Aw, Snowy, that must be a huge let down after the excitement... But that profile is definitely Andrew's chin and nose (I'm lucky to have both boys here to compare XDDD). But on the bright side at least you'll have time to assess Neptune, and save a little more if you decide to go with Uranus afterall

(Huh, If I didn't already have Andrew, I'd totally get him on the Evol body. That would be just perfect for the character's physique. I'd also be so broke )

 

Smaug, I'm exactly with you! Glad I already have Andrew. He would be a dream on that evol body, but... too $$$. I'm wiped out after Uranus and Mars. Likely won't have the money for Neptune.

Snowy! I saw they announced he's Andrew. Poo. I was so happy for you! Well, we will all be just as happy later on when he really does come out.

Edria-boys aren't rare. The switch's body are used more often for hybridization. But it seems to me Granado Lads body has better proportions

 

@ceza, I am new to LLT . He looks good on this body, the resin match is perfect. If you hadn't said he was an Edria, I wouldn't have known he wasn't from Granado.

Haha, it's my turn to get all excited! I ordered an Andrew head in tan over the weekend. But...after seeing more pictures of Neptune I'm beginning to reconsider my decision. That boy is going to be gorgeous!

I've been stalking Granado's Flickr pretty hard. From what I can see, Neptune is quite handsome!

I have an Edria boy (and a girl) myself, but a different batch, as it's more on the yellowy side than Granados NS :3

Nothing is stopping you from perhaps getting a Neptune head on top to switch them out... or perhaps a whole boy? ;P

Neptune is really handsome and rawwwwr, thought too 'edgy' for me. Guess Uranus really is the one for James and enjoys making me wait XD

I asked on Facebook when they posted those photos and yes, the guy in the hood is Neptune and let me tell you, I like what I'm seeing. Although Crocus really needs to slow down a little...both to let our wallets relax, and also for his own sake. He's been working too hard, he needs a holiday!

@Snowy - I could barely just afford Andrew's head...and I doubt I'd be able to snag another head so soon let alone an entire doll! But I'll try for just the head...a body can wait. XD
Out of all of DoA I think I missed this thread the most, everyone in here is just so lovely!

 

I'd thought it was Pluto too so I asked them on Flickr and they confirmed it's Neptune! I'm looking forward to more photos of him but my bank account isn't!

 

I missed everyone too, but at the same time, I was really busy this past week. I'm going to be working my butt off to finish knitting the baby blanket for my sister, then I'll start making stuff for my dolls like I had planned. My poor Venus is still bare faced and naked in her box. T.J has been making friends with my other dolls on his shelf. I need to get pictures of them.

 

(Squishes everyone back) I'm still figuring out where everything is on the site, myself (My other favorite site just went through a redo as well, so I just spend all day being confused
Anyway, I really like Neptune...but I have spent all my dollie money for this year--I'm doing some projects to earn more, but that money won't come in until next January or February, sigh.
But I did send out my Venus to Sicktress and I am so happy with her faceup--I wanted something stagey and dramatic for my street magician, but it's also really flattering for her:

I'm still trying to figure things out with the new format. I suspect some things aren't working properly because of my ancient version of Windows. However, the whole forum change has been done really smoothly, especially compared to the typical software update where I work-- that's always total chaos.

@LuckyXIII: Sounds stressfull but fun. I haven't been able to get myself to do much until the recent days. I blame my cats being very affectionate after last weekend and peacefully resting on my lap and not having the heart to move them. Having two purring furballs on your lap can be so relaxing you just don't feel like getting up at all.

@fishcake: Woha. Your Venus turned out very lovely. She feels very charismatic
