I am new to BJD’s but my becoming addicted to them was inevitable... I didn’t really like dolls growing up, but I always was an artist and loved art. So one day, in my 30’s, after an extremely traumatic tragedy in my life, I was on Pinterest and came across a gorgeous repainted monster high doll... the eyes looked so real, even tho they were painted on! And I was already loving painting art journal faces at the time, so I thought: 3D CANVAS!!! Awesome! And so began my monster high/eah repainting/customizing obsession. That was 2014...as my faceup experience with vinyl doll faces grew, I started seeing BJD’s that were artfully customized, and I admired them so much for a couple years, and when over 1/2 my doll collection was (supposedly) stolen, I got so angry I bought my first BJD, Dollshe Amanda Beauty secondhand, and after wiping her (pretty bad) faceup and doing my own on her, I was now so hopelessly addicted to these gorgeous moveable sculptures. They are amazing and occupy all my free time, minimal as it is with three kids under 4 years old. I spend way too much time and money on this hobby but I love it. It’s an art therapy, I don’t need a therapist, I just need to work on my dolls!!!Interact
