My navigation skills still leave allot to be desired. The resins I have don't meet the specs here because the makers also do vinyls in the same dolls in the US. I have felt until I had a real resin up to standards here I should keep my mouth shut but have been prodded to stabbed by my friends to start getting more involved. So here goes:
I have made things for my dolls since a small child as well as been involved in needle crafts and beadwork along the same time frame. I have been involved in the doll world in the bay area since the mid80s on and off and got my first taste of seeing resin bjds via SD fairy dolls of a friends friend in 2006/7. I made a few jewelry items for their dolls and loved the dolls but they were larger than what I wanted for myself as well as way out of my price range and started in of Wilde Imagination dolls as I liked the 1/4 size and also got some Goodreaus of the same size in resin and vinyl. Moved out here to Oklahoma and resisted the proddings to go online until 2010 when I got in a horrible car accident and was stuck somewhat in house for close to half a year. It did force me online to various outlets like ebay and etsy before Dec I believe as the accident happened last Nov. Have since then made things online and become much more enamoured of the resins and more involved in pursuing knowledge of and thinking about acquiring some. I have found through going through dolls to see what I find most appealing and desirable for me has not just been my usual fantasy jantra but the magic and beauty created by Russian artists in incredible little jewels of dolls made in porcelain that I will never be able to own but could spend hours looking at and admiring all the nuances and details.
This site has been an invaluable reference to me in making jewelry for other people as I can be guaranteed the measurements put up for dolls are accurate and precise so I am grateful with all my heart to be here and will try not to be so reticent about asking questions and posting and please bear with my ignorance
