Reason for choice:

The first doll I fell in love with! He was more affordable and was more in reach for me as a young kid entering the hobby.

Best Points:

I love his soft and thoughtful expression, the shape of his nose, and his cute ears. His resin is incredibly smooth.

Worst Points:

The metal loop/screw on his right foot snapped off only a year or two after I got him. Slightly awkward pointy elbow joints. Old school AoD head cap loop held in place by the S hook.

Yang was my first BJD! After pining and begging and saving up to get him for about a year, my mom came to me one day and said “okay, let’s order your doll.” I was just 11 at the time lol. I enjoyed sewing for him and taking photos. He brought me incredible joy.

After his foot broke I was devastated, and of course being as young and inexperienced as I was, I didn’t have the resources to fix him. It’s sad to say that this doll has spent most of his life in his box and in pieces. But that changed this year! I learned how to restring him and gave him his first ever faceup. He’s risen from the ashes!
